Frequently Asked Questions - YP-N30 SAMSUNG

How to transfer MP3 files to the player?
Connect the player to the computer via the USB cable. The player appears as a removable drive in Windows Explorer. Drag and drop MP3 or WMA files into the root folder of the drive. Do not create subfolders, as files will not be played.
What is the battery life?
Battery life can reach 15 hours with a new AAA alkaline battery, playing MP3 at 128 Kbps and volume set to 20. Actual battery life varies depending on battery type and usage conditions.
How to record voice with the YP-N30?
In music mode, press and hold the voice recording button (microphone symbol) for more than one second to start recording. Press the same button briefly to stop. Files are saved in order V001, V002, etc.
The player does not turn on, what to do?
First check the battery: insert it with correct polarity (+ and -). If the battery is dead, replace it. Also make sure the Hold lock is not activated (the HOLD switch should be in the unlocked position).
How to set the equalizer?
In playback mode, press and hold the MENU button to enter the menu. Select 2. Equalizer with the ▶/■ button. Use ◀◀/▶▶ to choose a mode (Normal, Classic, Jazz, Rock, or their DBB versions to boost bass) and press ▶/■ to confirm.
Can I use the player as a USB drive?
Yes, the YP-N30 works as a removable storage device. Connect it to the computer and you can copy/paste files (except copyrighted music files).
How to format the player?
In the menu, select 3. FILE then 2. Format. Confirm with 1. Confirm. Warning: formatting erases all data and resets settings. It is recommended to format from the computer for faster execution.
What to do if the buttons do not respond?
Check that the Hold lock is not active. If the problem persists, remove and reinsert the battery. If the screen displays 'HOLD-ACTIVE', disable the lock by sliding the switch to the other direction.
How to adjust the screen brightness and contrast?
In the menu 4. Setting, select 1. Display then Contrast. Use ◀◀/▶▶ to adjust the contrast (from 0 to 20). Backlight can be configured in Back-Light (duration or disable).
The displayed playback time is incorrect, why?
This can happen with VBR (Variable Bit Rate) files. Variable compression causes variations in time display. MPEG1 Layer 1 or 2 files are not played. Use constant bitrate MP3 files preferably.
