How to install the ECP966 citrus juicer?

Place the juice container on the motor unit shaft, then the strainer on top. Next, slide the cone (small or large) onto the motor shaft. Plug the appliance into an electrical outlet. It is ready to use.

Which fruits can I juice with this appliance?

This appliance is designed only for citrus fruits: oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes. Do not attempt to juice other fruits, as you may damage it.

Why does the cone rotation direction change?

This is normal. When you release pressure and press again, the cone may reverse its rotation. This allows the fruit to be squeezed more evenly and extract more juice.

How long can I use the appliance continuously?

Avoid using the appliance continuously for more than 2 minutes. Let it rest before reusing to prevent motor overheating.

How to clean the citrus juicer?

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Disassemble the removable parts (cones, strainer, juice container) and wash them in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry. The motor unit should be wiped with a damp cloth, never immersed in water.

Can I put the parts in the dishwasher?

The manual does not recommend the dishwasher. It is better to hand wash the parts in warm soapy water to preserve their condition.

Wrap the cord loosely in the storage compartment located under the motor unit. Then store the clean parts on the appliance.

How to get more juice from citrus fruits?

Use fruits at room temperature rather than refrigerated. Before juicing, roll the fruit on the counter under the palm of your hand for a few moments. This helps release more juice.

What to do if the motor does not stop after releasing pressure?

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.
Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “Cleaning and Maintenance” on page 5 of the manual.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Unpack the citrus juicer and remove all packaging.

Examine the citrus juicer for visible damage and check all parts are present.

Clean the motor base with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.

Clean all detachable parts in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

ASSEMBLY

1. Place the motor base on a flat, stable surface that will not be harmed by splashes of juice.
2. Slide the juice container over the drive shaft of the motor base.
3. Place the strainer on the juice container.
4. Place the large and/or small cone over the drive shaft.
   NOTE: When the large cone is used it shall fit over the small cone.
5. Plug the appliance in the mains socket. Your juicer is now ready for use.

OPERATION

Only use citrus fruit with this appliance, any other food may damage the appliance. Always use fresh, firm citrus fruit when juicing.

1. Cut a citrus fruit to be squeezed in half.
2. Place centre of citrus fruit over the small cone or large cone.

- NOTE: When the large cone is used it shall fit over the small cone.

1. Press fruit against the cone by using firm steady pressure to activate juicing.

2. For small citrus fruits, it is suggested to place the palm of your hand over the fruit.

3. Do not apply too much pressure to the cone while juicing, as this may cause damage to the motor.

4. If you remove the pressure, the cone may reverse direction once pressure is reapplied. This is normal and provides more even, effective juicing. Squeezing the fruit while pressing down on the cone will extract more juice.

5. Once you feel the ribs of the cone through the fruit rind, remove from the cone and repeat steps above.
6. The juice will be collected in the juice container and be distributed through the spout.

Place a glass under the spout and then press the spout downward to let the juice flow.

After serving, press the spout up to close it.

1. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket and clean it immediately after use as dried fruit pulp may be difficult to remove.

Short-time operation

Do not continuously operate the appliance for more than 2 minutes. Allow it to cool down before continuing operation.

Tips:

• Always wash citrus fruit before juicing to remove pesticides and residues from handling.
• Room-temperature fruit will yield more juice than refrigerated fruit.
• Roll fruits on the countertop with the palm of your hand a few times to increase juice yield.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.

Disassemble the appliance and wash all removable parts in warm, soapy water. Rinse them thoroughly.

Wipe the motor base with a slightly damp cloth.

Do not immerse the motor base in water.

Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of warm clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food.

Correct food hygiene practises should always be followed at all times to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination.

Dry the entire appliance with a dry cloth before replacing.

Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasives product for cleaning.

Wrap the power cord loosely around the power cord storage on the bottom of the motor base.

Place clean juice container, cones and dust cover back on the motor base.
