CaptureCut Foil Shaver
ENGLISH Thank you for buying your new Remington product. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them safe. Remove all packaging before use.
F IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BURNS, ELECTROCUTION, FIRE OR INJURY TO PERSONS:
1 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8 years. 2 The adaptor contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adaptor to replace it with another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation. 3 Make sure the adaptor does not get wet. 4 Suitable for cleaning under an open water tap. 5 Always unplug the appliance before you clean it. 6 Suitable for use in a bath or shower. 7 Do not immerse the charging stand in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it under the tap. 8 Do not plug or unplug the appliance with wet hands. 9 Do not use the shaver, adaptor, charging stand or any other part if it is damaged, as this may cause injury. Always replace a damaged adaptor or charging stand with one of the original type. 10 Use, charge and store the appliance at a temperature between 10°C and 35°C. 11 Only use the adaptor, charging stand and accessories supplied. 12 Always put the protection cap on the product to protect the cutting heads when you are travelling. 13 Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by Remington. 14 This appliance is not intended for commercial or salon use. 15 This appliance should be charged by approved safety isolating adaptors PA-0510E(K) with the output capacity of 5.0Vdc; 1.0A.

ENGLISH C GETTING STARTED It is recommended that you use your new shaver daily for up to four weeks to allow time for your beard and skin to become accustomed to the new shaving system.
CHARGING YOUR SHAVER Ensure the product is switched off.
Connect the charging stand to the adaptor and then to the mains. Place the charge stand on a flat surface. Place the shaver in the charge stand with the charge pins contacting. Charge for at least 24 hours when using for the first time. XF8505: At low charge the LED indicator will flash rapidly. When charging the LED will flash slowly. When fully charged the LED will light solid for 1 minute and then turn off. XF8705: When charge is low ‘Lo’ will flash rapidly on the screen. When charging, the LED’s flash in a clockwise rotation. When fully charged the minutes will flash 60 for 1 minute and then turn off. To preserve the life of your batteries, let them run out every 6 months then recharge for 24 hours. The appliance adapts automatically to a mains voltage between 100V and 240V. Quick charge feature: Your shaver is fitted with a 5 minute quick charge feature that will provide enough charge for 1 shave (3 minutes).
F INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
SHAVING Make sure your shaver is properly charged.
Switch the shaver on by pressing the on/off switch. Stretch the skin with your free hand so the hairs stand upright. Hold the shaving head so that the foils touch your face. Use short, linear strokes.
TRIMMING Switch the shaver on.
Push the trimmer release button up to activate the trimmer. Hold the trimmer at a right angle to your skin.
, REPLACING THE FOILS & CUTTERS
• To ensure continued high quality performance from your shaver, we recommend the foils and cutters are replaced every six months. , Signs that your foils and cutters need replacing. • Irritation: as foils get worn, you may experience skin irritation.
• Lubricate the teeth of the trimmer every six months with a drop of sewing machine oil.
• Remove the foil assembly by pressing the release buttons on either side of the head and lifting the foil assembly upwards to remove from the hair pocket. • Tap out the excess hair shavings and rinse the foils under running water. • Do not clean the shaving foil with a brush. • Replace the head assembly by placing the assembly on top of the hair pocket, press down and click into place.
Care for your appliance to ensure a long lasting performance.
We recommend you clean your product after each use. The easiest and most hygienic way to clean the appliance is by rinsing the appliance head after use with warm water. Keep the switch in the “off” position when not in use.
AE C CARE FOR YOUR SHAVER FIN S E TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
• Always hold the shaver at right angles to the skin so that all foils are touching the skin with equal pressure. • Use moderate to slow stroking movements. The use of short circular motions in stubborn areas may obtain a closer shave, especially along the neck and chin line. • DO NOT press hard against the skin in order to avoid damage to the foil heads. , Note: your shaver has been designed to be used in the shower if desired.
I To retract the trimmer, slide the trimmer release button down and push the back of the trimmer head downwards until it locks into place.
Pulling: as the cutters wear, your shave may not feel as close and you may feel the cutter pulling your hair.
Wear through: you may notice that the cutters have worn through the foils.
, TO REPLACE THE FOIL
• Remove the foil assembly by pressing the foil assembly release buttons on either side of the head and lifting the assembly upwards to remove from the hair pocket. • Insert the new foil assembly on the hair pocket, press down and click into place. , • • , •
REPLACING THE CUTTERS Grasp the cutter between your thumb and forefinger and pull upwards.
Snap the new cutter into the oscillator tip. Note: DO NOT press on the cutter ends as this may cause damage. Foil head replacements can be found on the Remington website. Spare part number SPF-XF05
• If your shaver battery is completely empty or the shaver has not been used for an extended period of time, the shaver may not start when operated using the cord. If this occurs, a 5 minute quick charge will allow for 3 minutes of shaving.
The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped.
The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery. Slide the trimmer up to the open position and remove a single philips head screw. Using a small flat screwdriver pry the back cover off the shaver. Using a philips screwdriver remove 8 screws to open the back of the internal housing. Remove and open the core from the shaver to expose the batteries. Cut the wire connecting the batteries to the circuit board and remove the batteries. The battery is to be disposed of safely.
To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste, but recovered, reused or recycled.
