Important safety instructions

- Loudspeaker lines (amplifier outputs) can have a sufficiently high voltage (i.e. 100V) to involve a risk of electrocution; never install or connect this loudspeaker when the line is alive.
- Make sure all connections have been made correctly and the loudspeaker input voltage (in a constant voltage system) or its impedance is suitable for the amplifier output.
- Protect loudspeaker lines from damage; make sure they are positioned in a way that they cannot be stepped on or crushed by objects.
- To prevent inductive effects from causing hum, noise and a bad system working, loudspeaker lines should not be laid together with other electric cables (mains), microphone or line level signal cables connected to amplifier inputs.
- Never attempt to carry out any operations, modifications or repairs that are not expressly described in this manual. Contact your authorized service centre or qualified personnel.
- Also check the suitability of the support surface to which the product is anchored (wall, ceiling, structure, etc.) and the components used for attachment (screws, screw anchors, etc.).
- Use only the optional devices / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Never use the handles, brackets or other elements of the module to directly suspend the modules or the system.
This manual contains important about the correct and safe use of the device. Before connecting and using this product please read this instruction manual carefully and keep it on hand for future reference. Description
The new FBT LIBRA suspended loudspeakers is an ideal solution for projects where the closed ceilings do not permit the use of embedded ceiling mounted loudspeakers. Its atypical design impresses thanks to its essential and clean lines. In terms of its sound, FBT LIBRA 5CT is irresistible for its excellent reproduction quality and sound fidelity, both in the rendering of speech and in the reproduction of high quality stereo recordings. The loudspeaker will no longer have to be an element to be hidden risking compromising the quality of the sound, but it becomes an integrated element in the environment, where the result is the union between form and function, between total disappearance and acoustics.
Following nature itself, where sound expands in all directions, a speaker has been developed that manages to reproduce a natural sound sensation. FBT LIBRA 5CT is of two way design incorporating a 5" coaxial low frequency woofer and 1" high frequency driver. FBT LIBRA 5CT incorporate a switchable transformer with power selector from 10W to 64W and low impedance connection (15Ω). FBT LIBRA 5CT is an excellent audio system at all frequencies for background music in small areas, diffusion in halls, public areas, boutiques, shops, passageways, galleries, museums, etc.

EUROBLOCK CONNECTOR - 4 PIN

Euroblock connector

LIBRA 5CT is equipped with a 4-pin Euroblock connector. Connect the positive wire (amplifier “+” output) to the pin “INPUT +” of the 4-pin EUROBLOCK connector. Connect the negative wire (amplifier “-” output) to the pin “INPUT -” of the 4-pin Euroblock connector. The “LINK +” and “LINK -” pins are useful to link another loudspeaker in parallel. The impedance value of each loudspeaker is 15Ω.
LIBRA 5CT is equipped with a line transformer, therefore the power amplifier must be equipped with constant voltage outputs at 100V or 70V. The input voltage of the loudspeaker must correspond to the output voltage of the amplifier and the sum of the nominal powers of all the loudspeakers connected to the line must not be higher than that of the amplifier. Before making the connections, adjust the input voltage and output power using the appropriate selector.
Warning

- The loudspeaker line shall be short (for long distances, it may be necessary to use cables with large cross-section wires).
- Always use cables having wires with an adequate cross-section, considering the cable lenght and the total loudspeaker power.
- Loudspeaker lines must be kept separated from the mains cables, microphone cables or others, in order to avoid inductive phenomena may cause hum or noises.
- Use loudspeaker cables with twisted wires to reduce hum caused by inductive effects due to coupling with electromagnetic fields.
- Do NOT connect the low impedance input directly to 70/100V constant voltage lines.
WARNING | Connect the cable, for the emergency system, to a junction box containing ceramic terminal and thermal fuse; as per fire regulations.
Constant voltage systems
This connection system requires that each speaker be equipped with a dedicated line transformer. The amplifier must have steady voltage outputs of 100V or 70V. Should it be necessary, the loudspeakers connected in parallel to the output of the amplifier allow you to extend the installation from any of the previously installed speakers, and also to remove the loudspeakers when no longer needed.
When making the connections, you have to observe the "phase" of speaker connection to its own transformer and also that of the parallel connection of the speakers. The input voltage of the speaker must match the output voltage of the amplifier; the total rating power of all speakers connected to the line must not be greater than that of the amplifier.
Low impedance systems
This connection system are generally used in the presence of lines with a small number of loudspeakers of a certain power placed at the minimum distance from the amplifier. The connection between the loudspeakers will be a mixed series/parallel, in such a way as to reduce the overall impedance of the loudspeakers to a non-critical value for the amplifier. A low impedance connection requires that the total impedance of the speakers be equal to or greater than that of the amplifier. The sum of the loudspeaker powers must be adequate for the maximum power that can be supplied by the amplifier.
Ex. The impedance of a single speaker is 16Ω ; parallel connection of two loudspeakers results in a total impedance of 8Ω (impedance = 16/number of loudspeakers).

- FBT flying accessories are manufactured for their exclusive use with LIBRA 5CT systems and have not been designed for being used with any other speaker or device.
- The flying accessories in use are to be coupled and secured safety to both the sound speaker and the ceiling (or the other support).
- When components are fitted to ceilings, floors or beams, always make sure that all couplers and fixing elements are properly sized and have an adequate load capacity.
Special attention was paid to the selection of materials and the manufacturing so as to permit high safety levels. The staff in charge of hanging the array system must be skilled and qualified; the installer/user will be responsible of ascertaining limits and lifting procedures for the structures to which the array will be attached. An improper use of the array suspension system may cause major damage to persons and things.
WARNING | FBT ELETTRONICA SpA accepts no responsibility for any damage to people or objects if these instructions are not complied with or if the safety factor of all elements related to system suspension are not properly checked.
WARNING | The LIBRA speakers use only with FBT mount for wall installation. Use with other mounts is capable of resulting in instability causing possible injury.
