Always inspectthe machine carefull prior to use: make sure itis correctly assembled and that there are no loose screws, damaged parts, fuel leaks Replace any accessories (blades, nylon string heads, guards) which show damage or cracks or appear excessively wo. Have your Authorized Service Center replace any damaged parts. + Perform all operations of maintenance and/or assembly ONLY with the engine off and wearing gloves. Apparel + B2. Prolonged use of the machine or other equipment can cause discomfort, stress, fatigue, hearing damage. Wear suitable hearing protection when using the machine. Correct and scrupulous maintenance can also help to protect you further from the risk of noise and vibration. Never start or run the engine in a closed or pooriy ventilated place. CAUTION! The exhaust fumes are toxic if inhaled, and may cause asphixiation and even death. Work zone + Examine the work area and be careful of any hazards (such as roads, driveways, power lines, hanging tree limbs, etc.).

+ Before use, remove any rubbish from the work area such as rocks, broken glass, ropes, metal parts, cans, bottles and any foreign body that could become entangled with rotating parts or be projected dangerously at a distance. Kickback Machines equipped with blades may produce a violent Kickback on contact with solid bodies. The blade is capable of amputating arms and legs. The force of the Kickback can cause the operator to lose control of the machine. Kickback can also occur when cutting with any type of blade in the hazardous zone (see N1); we therefore recommend cutting using the remaining zone. CAUTIONI Always use a sharp blade. Assembly of nylon string head and blade Apply the proper guard depending on whether you plan to use the grass blade or nylon string head (see chapter: “Application of protective devices on cutter”). + F1. Apply the nylon string head as shown in the ilustration: a) Protection flange b) Upper plate c) Guard d) Nylon sting head. Tighten by tuning counterclockwise. B EE à

As you tighten, hold Ihe nylon string head and plate still and insertthe wrench or screwdriver supplied in the holes in the plate and gearbox: first tum the plate until the Ivo holes match. + F3. Apply the blade as shown in the ilustration: a) Protection flange b) Upper plate with blade centering c) Guard d) Blade with wording and direction arrow facing upward e) Lower plate f) Fixed cup g) Blade fastening nut. À FE: CAUTION Do rt use te rien sing head guard extension (H) with metal blades. + F4. Make sure the hole in the blade is perfectiy coupled with the centering collar on the upper plate. Tighten by tuming counterclockwise. As you tighten, hold the blade-plate assembly stil by inserting the wrench or screwdriver supplied in the holes provided. F5. String head The nylon string head is used to cut grass and weeds along borders orin zones with obstacles like wall, fences or trees. It can operate in a very narrow or uneven zone. The nylon string cuts the grass neally without damaging the bark of the trees or causing violent impact such as due to the contact of a rigid blade with a hard surface. Supply of the nylon string - A À SAONE sine tin inde housedi he plastic shield will cut the nylon string to optimum length; a string that is too long reduces the rotation speed of the engine and interferes with cuting efficiency, as well as increasing the risk of injury. Press the primer bulb (C) several times until you see fuel going back to carburetor through pipe (D). Pull starter rope until engine fires once. + HS. Move choke lever (E) to the open position [+ then pull starter rope until engine res. Let engine run for à few seconds holding the timmer. Now disengage throttle advance by puling trigger completely. Engine will now keep on running at idle speed. Hot engine starting STOP switch on START position 1. Trigger on idle position (released). Choke towards (open position 1+1). Press the primer bulb (C) several limes until you see fuel going back to carburetor through pipe (D). Pul starter rope. CAUTIONI When the throttle (B) advance is engaged, the head or blade rotates. HG. Engine stopping Press the stop Switch moving it to STOP position “D”. CAUTIONI When the engine is switched off VAN rotating parts, blade or nylon string head, will Keep on rotating for a few seconds. Hold the machine until al parts come to a standstil. 1. Carburetor adjustment

Your machine can be equipped with a low emission carburetor. We recommend that you have any adjustment of the carburetor made exusively by an authorized service center, which disposes of special equipment for ensuring the best performance with the lowest emissions. To adjust {he speed to the minimum, {um the screw marked (T) as shown: With the engine running and well warmed up, turn the screw (T) gentiy clockwise, until the engine rotates atregular speed (stead noise), without the cutting devices in motion. Ifthe cutting devices are moving, turn the screw (T) gently counterclockwise until you obtain the proper adjustment. The correct minimum speed is shoun in the instruction manual in the paragraph of technical data. AA SAUTION Ale above adusmments shout be made with the cuttng devices correct installed. The warranty may be invalidated due to erroneous adjustments made by personnel not belonging to authorized service centers. L. Routine maintenance Check periodically to see that al the screws in the machine are securely fastened in place. Replace damaged, wom, cracked or bent blades. Always make sure the blade or nylon string head is correctiy installed and the nut holding the blade is tight. L1. Cleaning the air filter (Atleast every 25 hours of work).
