Frequently Asked Questions - DUB2620M AEG
How do I clean the metal grease filters?
The metal grease filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand with warm water and dish soap. It is recommended to clean them every 2-3 months to maintain suction performance. Let the filters dry completely before reinserting them.
How do I change the activated carbon filter in recirculation mode?
In recirculation mode, an activated carbon filter must be used. It is located behind the metal grease filter. To change it, remove the grease filter, take out the old activated carbon filter and insert a new one. Ensure the correct size (for model DUB2620M). The activated carbon filter should be replaced approximately every 4-6 months.
Why does the cooker hood have insufficient air extraction?
Possible causes are blocked filters, an excessively long or kinked exhaust hose, or a saturated activated carbon filter. Also check that the ventilation flaps are correctly installed. Clean or replace the filters and check the exhaust path.
How can I replace the LED lights?
On this model, the LED lights are permanently integrated. You must remove the cover to access the LEDs. If they are defective, contact AEG customer service, as specialist tools may be required. Observe the safety instructions and disconnect the appliance from the power supply beforehand.
Can the cooker hood be operated in recirculation mode with an activated carbon filter?
Yes, the model DUB2620M can be used in recirculation mode. The optional activated carbon filter must be installed for this purpose. The activated carbon absorbs odours. No activated carbon filter is required for extraction mode.
What do the blinking symbols on the control buttons mean?
The blinking symbols may indicate a malfunction, e.g. a blocked filter or overheating. Read the operating instructions in the 'Troubleshooting' section. In many cases, the indicator goes out after cleaning the filters.
What should be the installation height above the hob?
For electric hobs, the recommended minimum distance is 65 cm, for gas hobs 75 cm. Follow the instructions in the installation manual to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Why is the cooker hood loud?
The volume depends on the power level and condition of the filters. High noise levels can be caused by blocked filters, incorrect installation or vibrations in the exhaust hose. Clean the filters and check the mountings. If necessary, use sound-insulating hoses.
Which exhaust hose is suitable?
Use a flexible or rigid exhaust hose with a diameter of 150 mm (EU standard). The hose should be short and without tight bends to maximise airflow. The exhaust must not be routed into a fireplace or chimney.
What to do if the cooker hood no longer responds?
First check the power supply and the fuse. If the appliance still does not respond, there may be a defect. Contact AEG customer service. Note down the appliance number (E-No.) and the model name.
