2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.

3. OPERATION

1. To use the heat gun, first connect it to the mains, then switch it on using the switch and select the air speed (I, II and III).
2. Next, turn the temperature knob to the desired position. It has 7 levels.
3. When you hear a humming sound, it means that the motor has started. You will notice that the inner heating element gradually turns red.

Note:

• If the colour becomes too intense, some smoke may come out (which will disappear after a short time). This is due to the fact that the surface of the heating element is coated with a layer of oil to prevent rust.

• Once the tool has been used for a while, the nozzle will turn black due to exposure to high temperatures. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the appliance.

• When you have finished using the gun, switch it off and position it so that the nozzle is upside down. If you place it with this part facing downwards, its internal temperature will increase, which will decrease its lifespan.

• Allow the nozzle and accessories to cool to room temperature before storing.

Note: to speed up the cooling process of the gun, when you have finished using it, switch the temperature knob from high (II) to low and wait 15 minutes. After this time, switch off the tool and unplug it from the mains.

1. Allow the gun to cool down. (It will cool faster if left in an upright position).

2. Centre the nozzle on the tip of the hot air gun and press down until the nozzle is firmly installed.

1. Allow the gun to cool down. (It will cool faster if left in an upright position).

2. Pull the nozzle from the tip of the gun to remove it.

WARNING: never change the nozzles with bare hands. Always wear gloves when removing accessories.

Functions

A Removing old paint

The heat gun is suitable for removing layers of paint, as, unlike other tools, it does not burn the surface.

The gun will soften the paint layer so that it is easier to remove it later without damaging the surface.

To remove the previously softened paint layer, we recommend that you use a flat spatula, which is safer. Some paints, such as cement paint, enamel paint, mineral paint, etc. do not soften afterwards. Fig. 2

Note:

• Removing the paint only softens the paint on the surface, after that, you can easily scrape off the paint, instead of burning it.
• In order to scrape more easily, it is advisable to heat evenly up and down so that it is evenly softened.

B Bending or curving plastic tubes

To bend a plastic tube, place the gun at a distance of 5 to 15 cm and apply heat evenly until the tube begins to soften. When you feel that the tube offers no resistance, bend it and keep it in that position until it cools down completely.

The reflector nozzle will help you to bend the tube easily. Fig. 3

C Defrosting a refrigerator

When defrosting the refrigerator, only heat the metal part to melt the ice around it, as this will allow you to remove the rest. Fig. 4

For safety reasons, when removing ice with your hands or when touching a wet area, turn off the heat gun beforehand and prevent it from coming into contact with the area.

D Heating thermal contraction plastic films

The heat gun is suitable for heating thermal contraction plastic films.

To do this, place it at a certain distance from the plastic and gradually bring it closer until the plastic contracts and wraps around the desired object evenly. Fig. 5.

E Replacing floor tiles

To remove the tiles, the adhesive that glues them to the floor must be heated until it softens. Depending on the thickness of the tile, it may take some time for the heat to soften the adhesive. Fig. 6.

To facilitate this process, you should move the gun up and down.

F Glass

NOTE: prevent the heat gun from coming into contact with the glass.

When using the heat gun near glass, great care must be taken, as glass can easily break.

In these cases, we recommend that you use the lowest temperature level and keep the gun at least 20 to 38 cm away from the glass.

In addition, it is advisable to use something (e.g. a wooden board) to protect the glass from direct heat.

WARNINGS

• Children are not allowed to use this tool.
• When switching on the heat gun, never leave it unattended; if it is not to be used, switch it off and disconnect it from the mains.
• Use the heat gun in a place with low humidity, as far as possible.
• To avoid burns, do not touch the nozzle or point the gun at skin, hair, eyes or any other part of the body.
• The temperature of the heat gun is very high, so do not use it directly on objects made of plastic or textile material.
• When working with the heat gun, keep it away from solvents, otherwise an explosion may occur.
• Do not touch the gun nozzle until it has cooled down completely.
• Do not block any openings of the heat gun, as this may reduce the air flow and increase the temperature, resulting in overheating of the internal parts.
• Do not try to repair the tool on your own. If you detect any problem, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: always unplug the appliance from the mains socket before performing any cleaning or maintenance task.

This tool does not require any special maintenance. However, parts that are subject to wear and tear should be checked at regular intervals.

Cleaning the exterior

1. Make sure that the heat gun is disconnected from the power supply.

2. Allow the heat gun to cool completely before starting cleaning.

3. Use a soft cloth dampened with water to clean the outside of the heat gun. Do not use corrosive liquids or immerse the gun in water.

Cleaning the nozzle

1. Use dry cotton swabs to clean the nozzle and remove any dirt.
2. If there is burnt residue or other build-up, you can moisten the swab with isopropyl alcohol for more effective cleaning.
3. For more stubborn residues, a small brush may be useful to gently scrub the nozzle. Make sure not to damage or scratch the metal surface.

Cleaning the slots and openings

1. Use compressed air to blow out any dust or dirt that may be trapped in the ventilation slots or openings of the device.

2. Alternatively, you can use a small brush to clean these areas.

3. Do not use abrasive materials to clean the nozzle.

4. Do not use cleaning products containing chlorine or acid.

Storage

Make sure that the nozzle of the hot air gun has cooled down to room temperature before storing it. After many uses, the nozzle will become dark in colour due to the heat, but this will not affect the performance of the tool.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
