Frequently Asked Questions - UVT 1001 BEKO

How does the Beko UVT 1001 ultrasonic cleaner work?
The device generates high-frequency sound waves (40 kHz) that create millions of microscopic bubbles in the cleaning solution. These bubbles implode gently, a process called cavitation, which lifts dirt and grime from surfaces. Simply fill the tank with the recommended solution, place your items in the basket, and run the cycle.
What liquids can I use in the tank?
For general cleaning, you can use warm water mixed with a few drops of mild dish detergent or an ultrasonic cleaning solution designed for the material. Avoid flammable or acidic liquids. For specific items like glasses or jewelry, use a dedicated ultrasonic cleaning concentrate diluted in water.
Can I clean eyeglasses with this ultrasonic cleaner?
Yes, the Beko UVT 1001 is safe for most eyeglasses, provided they are not heat-sensitive or have loose components. Remove any cloth or plastic parts if necessary. Place the glasses in the basket, submerge them in the cleaning solution, and run a 3–5 minute cycle at room temperature. Use a gentle detergent to avoid damaging coatings.
How long should I run the cleaning cycle?
The device has a 0–30 minute timer. For lightly soiled items, 3–5 minutes is usually enough. For heavily soiled tools or parts, 15–20 minutes may be required. Always start with a shorter cycle and repeat if needed, rather than over-cleaning and risking damage.
Can I use the heating function for all items?
Heating speeds up cleaning but can damage heat-sensitive objects such as certain plastics, resin jewelry, or coated lenses. Use the heater only for items that can withstand up to 80°C. When in doubt, run the cleaner at room temperature.
How do I maintain and clean the device itself?
After each use, unplug the unit and empty the tank. Wipe the interior with a soft, damp cloth and let it air dry. Clean the exterior with a mild non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the device in water. Regular maintenance prolongs the lifespan of the transducer.
Is it safe to use with jewelry containing gemstones?
Generally yes, but be cautious with pearls, opals, emeralds, and other porous or softer stones. Using the heating function on such jewelry is not recommended. Place the jewelry in a secure holder and run a short room-temperature cycle with a gentle solution to avoid dislodging stones.
What is the maximum capacity of the tank?
The stainless steel tank holds up to 0.75 liters of liquid. Do not exceed the max fill line marked inside. Overfilling can reduce cleaning performance and damage the unit. For best results, keep the liquid level below the line at all times.
Can I replace the fuse myself if needed?
Yes, the UVT 1001 uses a standard replaceable fuse. Unplug the device, locate the fuse holder near the power cord, and replace the blown fuse with the identical type and rating. If you are unsure, contact a Beko service center for assistance.
Does the device have an automatic shut-off feature?
Yes, the ultrasonic cleaner is equipped with automatic shut-off when the timer completes its cycle. It also shuts off in case of overheating to prevent damage. The transparent lid helps you monitor the process while the unit operates safely.
