Frequently Asked Questions - MAG 322UP QD-OLED E16 MSI

How do I set up the MAG 322UP QD-OLED E16 on my desk?
Place the monitor on a stable surface, attach the stand by sliding the bracket into the slot, then tighten the captive screw. Connect the HDMI/DP/USB-C cable from your source, then plug the power adapter. Finally, press the joystick button to turn the monitor on.
What video cable do I need for 4K at 165 Hz?
Use an HDMI 2.1 cable or DisplayPort 1.4 cable that supports the required bandwidth. For USB-C connections, ensure the port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and use a cable rated for 4K 165 Hz.
Does the monitor support HDR and how do I enable it?
Yes, the QD-OLED panel is certified for DisplayHDR True Black 400 and can reach 1000 cd/m² peak brightness. Enable HDR in Windows (or your game console) under Display Settings, then choose the HDR preset from the monitor's OSD.
How can I prevent burn-in on the QD-OLED screen?
The monitor includes OLED Care features such as pixel shift, panel refresh, and logo dimming. Always enable these from the OSD, avoid displaying static images for extended periods, and use the power-save mode after 2 hours of inactivity.
What ports are available and how should I connect multiple devices?
The monitor has two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4, one USB-C with 90 W charging, and two USB 3.2 Type-A ports. Use the Input Source menu on the OSD or the built-in KVM function to switch only between connected devices.
Can the USB-C port charge my laptop while displaying video?
Yes, the USB-C port delivers 90 W Power Delivery and supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, so a single cable can transmit video, data, and power to compatible laptops.
How do I mount the monitor on a VESA arm or wall mount?
Remove the four screws on the back cover, detach the stand, then align the VESA adapter with a 100 x 100 mm mounting pattern and secure it using screws of the correct length (usually M4). Follow the arm's manual for torques and fits.
What is the recommended way to clean the QD-OLED screen?
Turn off the monitor, wait for it to cool, then use a dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface. For stubborn stains, slightly dampen the cloth with distilled water – never use alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners.
How do I switch between the built-in speakers and headphone output?
The monitor does not have built-in speakers, but it includes a headphone jack. Connect headphones or external speakers to the jack, then set the sound output device to the monitor in your operating system.
What should I do if the monitor does not recognize my PC?
Check that the video cable is securely connected, press the Input Source button on the OSD to choose the correct port, and update your graphics driver. If the issue remains, try another cable or port to isolate the problem.
