How to use the appliance

Before starting cooking we strongly advise you clean the base (5) with a damp cloth and to remove any label. The pan and accessories can be washed in a soapy water or dishwasher

The pot (3) will be very hot (while working) so put an isolating plate or placemat under the pan.

First, put the sauce ring (7) on the heating base (5). The sauce ring is only in the correct position once it clicks onto the heating plate (this is done by pushing firmly). Place the containers (8) into the sauce ring and put the pot on the heating base. Place the fondue fork ring (2) on the pot and put the forks into the pot.

Place the plug into the socket and set the thermostat button to the desired temperature. It will take a few minutes to heat up. You can use this time to prepare the ingredients. As soon as the appliance has reached the set temperature, the indicator light will out.

Note:

While in use, the temperature light will go on and off: this shows that the thermostat in working correctly and that the contents of the pot are being heated at the set temperature.

Fondue choices

The adjustable temperature of the fondue pot will make it suitable for various types of fondue, such as the classic meat fondue, as well as cheese fondue, a chocolate fondue or a Chinese fondue (with stock). Fill the pot with the desired ingredients and put it on the

heating base. Fill the pot with oil, cheese, stock or chocolate, but do not put too much in. The level of oil, cheese or something alike must be maintained between minimum and maximum level.

Set the thermostat at the desired temperature. The red light will go on and off, as the thermostat regulates the temperature. For classic meat fondue set thermostat at the maximum temperature; cheese, stock and chocolate fondue require a somewhat lower temperature. Set the temperature so that the mixture will not boil. Cheese and chocolate in particular should be heated up slowly to prevent them from boiling over. Stir once in a while to obtain a smooth texture.

The following types of oil are suitable for fondue: com oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, and deep-frying oil. Check on the packaging to see whether or not the oil is suitable fondue. This is important, as some oils are not suitable and may spatter if used for fondue.

Cleaning

First remove the plug from the socket and allow all the parts to cool off before cleaning them.

Wash fondue pot, fork ring and fondue forks in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Never immerse heating base and cord in water or any other liquid.

Apart from the heating base, all parts of the fondue pot can be cleaned in soapy water or in the dishwasher. Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or scourers.

The heating element base must be kept dry. Clean it with a slightly damped cloth, and wipe dry, as necessary.
