Frequently Asked Questions - Black Edition VX64 VAX

How do I empty the dust container?
Press the release button to separate the cyclone unit from the dust container. Hold over a bin, press the bottom lid release to empty the contents. Reattach and ensure it clicks securely.
How often should I wash the HEPA filter?
We recommend washing the HEPA filter every 3 to 4 months, or when suction drops. Rinse under cold water, leave it to dry completely for 24 hours before refitting.
What should I do if the suction is weak?
First, empty the dust container and wash the filter. Check the hose, wand and floor head for blockages. Ensure all connections are secure. Remove any tangled hair or debris from the brush bar.
How do I clean the cyclone unit?
With the container removed, use a soft cloth over a bin to wipe away fine dust from the cyclone surface. Do not use water in the cyclone unless heavily soiled; if so, rinse and dry thoroughly.
Which attachments are included with the VX64?
The VX64 includes a combination floor head for carpets and hard floors, a crevice tool for tight spaces, and a dusting brush for delicate surfaces.
Is the vacuum bagless?
Yes, the Vax Black Edition VX64 is bagless and uses cyclonic technology to separate dust into a 2.5 litre container, so no bags are needed.
How long is the power cord?
The power cord is 5 metres long, giving you up to 8 metres of operating reach when combined with the hose and wand.
Can I wash the HEPA filter?
Yes, the HEPA filter is washable. Rinse it in cold water only, squeeze out excess water (don't twist), and let it air dry completely for at least 24 hours before putting it back.
How do I replace the filter if damaged?
Contact Vax customer service or an authorised dealer to buy a replacement HEPA filter. Ensure the vacuum is unplugged before removing the old filter and fitting the new one.
What is the best way to store the vacuum?
Use the parking function by slotting the floor head into the rear stand for upright storage. Keep the vacuum in a dry place, with the hose secured to the side of the unit to prevent damage.
