A. This Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of this product. B. This Warranty applies ONLY to repair or replacement of any supplied or manufactured parts of this product that, upon inspection by JCS/THG, LLC authorized personnel, is shown to have failed in normal use due to defects in material or workmanship. JCS/THG, LLC will determine whether to repair or replace the unit. This Warranty does not apply to installation expenses. C. Operating this unit under conditions other than those recommended or at voltages other than the voltage indicated on the unit, or attempting to service or modify the unit, will render this WARRANTY VOID. D. Unless otherwise proscribed by law, JCS/THG, LLC shall not be liable for any personal injury, property or any incidental or consequential damage of any kind resulting from malfunctions, defects, misuse, improper installation or alteration of this product. E. All parts of this product are guaranteed for a period of 1 year as follows:

1. Within the first 30 days from date of purchase, the store from which you purchased your product should

replace this product if it is defective in material or workmanship (provided the store has in-stock replacement.)

(Enclose in an envelope and tape directly to the unit before the box is sealed.)

3. JCS/THG, LLC recommends you ship the package U.P.S ground service for tracking purposes.

4. All shipping charges must be prepaid by you.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before using.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or

cooking unit in water or other liquid. CAUTION: Never submerge the heating unit in water or other liquid.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or

to cool before putting on or taking off parts.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the

outlet. To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet. This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. No user-serviceable parts inside. Do not attempt to service this product. Do not immerse base in water or other liquid. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. AN EXTENSION CORD MAY BE USED WITH CARE; HOWEVER, THE MARKED ELECTRICAL RATING SHOULD BE AT LEAST AS GREAT AS THE ELECTRICAL RATING OF THE GRAVY BOAT . The extension cord should not be allowed to drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. NOTE: During initial use of this appliance, some slight smoke and/or odor may be detected. This is normal with many heating appliances and will not recur after a few uses. -E2- -E3- POLARIZED PLUG This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). SCVG000CN06EFM1.qxd 5/24/06 16:17 Page 6 RECIPES BEEF GRAVY 1 1⁄2 tablespoons flour ⁄4 cup milk Stoneware gravy boat Salt and pepper to taste 1 (10 1⁄2 oz.) can beef broth Mix milk and flour and add to beef broth. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Taste and adjust seasonings. Pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm. Makes 1 1⁄2 cups. gravy boat base Detachable Cord HOW TO USE YOUR CROCK-POT GRAVY BOAT The gravy boat is designed for holding your gravy, sauce, or syrup at the perfect serving temperature.

1. Simply fill stoneware gravy boat with your favorite gravy.

  • If gravy is preheated, just pour in.
  • If gravy is cold, place stoneware gravy boat into microwave oven and heat until desired temperature is reached.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CROCK-POT® GRAVY BOAT Never submerge unit in water. Always unplug unit before cleaning.

  • After emptying, fill stoneware gravy boat with hot or warm soapy water to loosen food remains. Do not use abrasive cleaners — a cloth, sponge or rubber spatula will usually remove the residue. If necessary, a plastic cleaning pad may be used. Use a non-abrasive cleaner (Bon-Ami® Polishing Cleanser) or vinegar to remove water spots or other stains.
  • The outside case of the gravy boat base may be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Both the stoneware gravy boat and ceramic lid are dishwasher safe.

Pan drippings 2 cups water 4 tablespoons flour Salt and pepper to taste

-E4- Begin with 4 tablespoons pan drippings. Over low heat, mix in flour and stir until smooth. Slowly add in water and any additional pan drippings. Boil gently for 5 minutes. Add Salt and Pepper to taste. Pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm. Makes 2 cups.

ROAST PORK MUSTARD SAUCE

Cook your favorite roast pork recipe and use the pan drippings to create this flavorful gravy. 1 1⁄2 tablespoons butter, room temperature 1 1⁄2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard Freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 cup white wine 1 cup chicken broth Kosher salt Combine butter, flour and mustard in bowl and set aside. Remove pork from roasting pan and add broth and wine. Set pan over stovetop burners set to medium heat and simmer until sauce is reduced to 1 1⁄2 cups, stirring and scraping up the flavorful bits at the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and strain into saucepan. Skim off fat that rises to the top. Place saucepan on stovetop set to medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Stir in mustard paste and simmer, stirring often, until sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper and pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm. Makes approx. 1 1⁄2 to 2 cups. -E5- SCVG000CN06EFM1.qxd 5/24/06 16:17 Page 8 RECIPES This sauce is great with steak hot off the grill. 1 pound baby portabello mushrooms, sliced 5 large garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar ⁄2 cup merlot or other dry red wine ⁄2 cups water Kosher salt 2 tablespoons butter 1 yellow onion, minced 1 tablespoon sherry wine vinegar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped Freshly ground pepper In a large skillet or saucepan set over low heat on stovetop, add butter and onions. Saute onions until softened and add garlic. Saute briefly until lightly colored and add mushrooms to pan. Set stovetop to medium-high heat and cook mushrooms until they begin to exude their liquid, stirring often. Cook until liquid is cooked off. Add vinegars and wine and boil until liquid is again cooked off, stirring often. Add cornstarch to water until fully incorporated. Pour cornstarch mixture into pan, stirring constantly and bring to a boil. Simmer 2 minutes and stir in parsley, salt and pepper. Pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm. Makes about 2 1⁄2 cups. HOLLANDAISE A classic sauce for Eggs Benedict. ⁄3 cup plus 2 tablespoons water ⁄4 teaspoon salt 3 large egg yolks

emon juice, to taste ⁄4 teaspoon white pepper 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted

This is a great sauce for ice cream, brownies and other sweet indulgences.

⁄4 cup heavy cream ⁄4 cup butter ⁄4 cup light brown sugar, packed 1 teaspoon cinnamon 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped Add cream and brown sugar to a small saucepan set over medium to medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved completely. Remove pan from heat and add the chocolate, stir with a spatula until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in butter and cinnamon until sauce is very smooth. Pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm.

BREAKFAST BERRY SAUCE

A wonderful warm sauce for pancakes or French toast perfect for that special breakfast or brunch. 2-3 cups fresh or frozen defrosted berries such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, divided ⁄2 cup sugar fresh lemon juice, to taste

Place 1⁄2 the berries and sugar in a food processor or blender to puree. Place fine sieve over bowl and pour puree through sieve to remove seeds. Add remaining berries and add lemon juice to taste. Add more sugar if necessary. Pour into gravy boat stoneware and warm in the microwave until desired temperature is reached. Place in stoneware gravy boat to keep warm. Serve with pancakes or French toast. Mix 1⁄3 cup water, lemon juice, salt and pepper together in saucepan on stovetop set to medium heat. Reduce to 2 tablespoons and cool. Whisk in egg yolks. Set stovetop to low and whisk constantly, until sauce turns into a thick pale yellow foam. Remove pan from the heat and drizzle in the melted butter, alternating with the remaining water, by teaspoonfuls. Strain and pour into stoneware gravy boat to keep warm.
