How to adjust the refrigerator temperature?

Use the adjustment button located inside the refrigerator compartment. Turn it to the desired position: 1 (least cold) to 5 (coldest). The ideal temperature is about 4°C.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the appliance when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

3. PLACE OF INSTALLATION

1. Conditions for proper ventilation:

The location you choose for the installation of the refrigerator must be properly ventilated and away from heat sources. Do not place the refrigerator near heat sources, like a cooker hob or

pot, and avoid direct sunlight to ensure the cooling effect and save on energy consumption. Do not place the refrigerator in a damp place to avoid rust or loss of power. The result of dividing the amount of refrigerant load by the total space of the room in which the refrigerator is installed must not be less than 8 g/m^3 .

Note:

The amount of refrigerant used by the refrigerator is specified on the appliance marking.

2. Heat dissipation space

• During operation, the refrigerator releases heat into the environment. Therefore, you should leave at least 30 mm of free space at the top chamber, more than 100 mm on both sides, and more than 50 mm at the rear of the refrigerator.

3. Installation surface

• Place the refrigerator on a solid, flat surface to keep it stable, otherwise vibrations and noises will occur. When the refrigerator is placed on a carpet, straw mat, or polyvinyl chloride, solid support plates should be placed under the refrigerator to avoid colour change due to heat dissipation.
• It is necessary to maintain unobstructed ventilation around the appliance or in the structure where it is installed.

4. Levelling

Make sure you level your refrigerator with the front levelling feet. If it is not levelled, the door sealing performance of the refrigerator will be affected, or it can even cause a malfunction.

Preparing for use

5. Waiting time

Once the refrigerator is correctly installed and clean, do not turn it on immediately, wait at least 4 hours before connecting it to the power supply to ensure normal operation.

6. Cleaning

Check the placement of the interior accessory parts and clean the inside of the refrigerator with a soft cloth.

1. Switch-on

Connect the plug into a power socket to switch on the compressor. After one hour, open the refrigerator door: if the temperature inside the refrigerator compartment has dropped, this means the cooling system is running normally.

1. Food storage

After the refrigerator has been in operation for some time, the user may adjust its internal temperature. Once the refrigerator has reached a suitable interior temperature, put in the food.

If the refrigerator is installed in a wet place, be sure to check if the earth wire and the circuit breaker are working normally. If vibration noises occur due to contact of the refrigerator with the wall or if the wall turns black due to air convection around the compressor, keep the refrigerator further away from the wall. The installation of the refrigerator may cause noise interference or image problems in mobile phones, landline phones, radio receivers, or televisions near the refrigerator, so in this case, keep the refrigerator as far away from these objects as possible.

Reversing the door opening direction

1. Make sure the refrigerator is unplugged.
2. Lift up and remove the hinge cover, remove the three screws securing the top hinge to the door, then remove the hinge. Fig. 3
3. Remove the refrigerator-compartment door.
4. Remove the two screws securing the centre hinge. Fig. 4
5. Remove the freezer-compartment door.
6. Remove the screws securing the bottom hinge on the right side of the refrigerator, then remove the hinge. Fig. 5
7. Remove the washer and the nut that fix the shaft pin to the right gap of the lower hinge and remove the shaft. Fig. 6.
8. Insert the pin shaft into the left hole of the lower hinge, then secure the shaft with the washer and nut. Fig. 7
9. Install the lower hinge on the left side of the refrigerator.
10. Remove the screw securing the door stop on the bottom right-hand side of the freezer-compartment door, then remove the door stop and install it on the bottom left-hand side. Fig. 8
11. Install the freezer-compartment door.
12. Move the door bushing from the top right-hand side of the freezer-compartment door to the top left-hand side. Move the left-hole cover to the right side. Fig. 9
13. Remove the screw-hole cover from the centre-hinge screw hole on the left side of the refrigerator, then install it into the screw holes on the right side of the refrigerator. Fig. 10
14. Install the centre hinge on the left side with the two screws removed earlier. Fig. 11
15. Remove the screw that holds the door stop on the lower right side of the refrigerator-

compartment door and remove the door stop from the door. Then install it in the lower left side. Fig. 12

1. Install the refrigerator-compartment door.
2. Move the door sleeve from the right top chamber of the refrigerator to the upper left side of the door. Move the left-hole cover to the right side. Fig. 13
3. Remove the cover from the hole in the top left-hand side of the refrigerator and attach the cover to the top right-hand side of the refrigerator. Fig. 14
4. Attach the top hinge to the top-left side of the refrigerator with the three screws removed earlier. Before tightening the top hinge screws, make sure that the top of the door is level with the refrigerator and that the rubber gasket makes a good seal.
5. Place the cover on top of the hinge on the top left side of the refrigerator. Fig. 15

4. OPERATION

Temperature settings

• You can adjust the temperature of the refrigerator via the refrigeration-compartment control panel. Fig. 16
• Press the ≡ icon to scroll through the settings. The refrigerator temperature setting cycle is as follows: 5→4→3→2→1→ FASTCOOLING→5.
• 1 is the warmest setting
• 5 is the coldest setting
• In normal operating conditions, it is recommended to set the temperature to 4. Do not set temperature to 5 to avoid unintentionally freezing the food.

Fastcooling function

You can enable the Fastcooling function to quickly cool down or freeze food. The Fastcooling function will be automatically disabled after 26 hours, or it can be disabled manually.

Note:

Flashing indicator lights '5', '3', or '1' flash indicate a malfunction in the refrigerator. Contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service as soon as possible.

5. INSTRUCTIONS ON FOOD STORAGE

Use precautions

• The appliance may not operate consistently (there may be some defrosting of the contents or the temperature may become too hot in the freezer compartment) if placed in locations with a temperature outside of the temperature range for which the refrigerator is designed for a long period of time.
• Information on the climate class of the appliance can be found in the Technical Specifications section and on the appliance marking.
• The internal temperature may be affected by factors such as the location of the appliance, room temperature, door opening frequency, etc., and you should take these factors into account if you decide to use any temperature-control devices.
• Effervescent or carbonated drinks should not be stored in the freezer or the refrigerator. It is not recommended to store liquids in glass containers or soft drink cans in the freezer compartment.

Food location

• Due to the circulation of cold air in the refrigerator, the temperature in each zone is different, so food must be placed in different zones.
• The refrigerator compartment is suitable to store food that does not need to be frozen, cooked food, beer, eggs, some seasonings that need to be kept cold, milk, fruit juice, etc. The crisper drawer is the best place to store fruit and vegetables.
• The freezer compartment is suitable to store ice cream, frozen foods, and foods that need to be kept for a long time.

Shelves

To remove the shelves, first lift them up and then pull them out; to put them back, put them into their position before lowering them. (For the two-section shelf, push the first section towards the rear end and pull the second section out). Keep the rear edge of the shelf facing upwards to prevent food from coming into contact with the wall. When removing and fitting shelves, hold them firmly and handle them carefully to avoid damage.

Crisper drawer

Pull out the crisper drawer to access the food. After using or cleaning the bottom shelf of the refrigerator (the drawer cover), put it back in place so that the internal temperature of the drawer is not affected.

Tipps for buying frozen food

• When buying frozen food, pay attention to the storage instructions on the package. You may store each frozen food for the period indicated in the star rating. This is usually the period indicated as "best before" on the front of the package.
• Make sure that the packaging of frozen food is in perfect condition.
• Do not buy frozen foods unless you can freeze them immediately. Special insulated bags are available in most supermarkets and department stores. In them, frozen food is kept cold for a longer period of time.
• Some foods do not require defrosting before cooking. Vegetables and pasta can be added directly to boiling water or steamed. Frozen sauces and soups can be placed in a pan and heated gently until thawed.
• Use quality foods and alter them as little as possible. When food is frozen in small quantities, it takes less time to freeze and thaw.
• Calculate the amount of food to be frozen. When freezing large quantities of fresh food, set the temperature knob to a lower freezing temperature. This way food can be frozen quickly maintaining its freshness.

Care for food storage

• Clean and dry food completely before storing it in the refrigerator. Before introducing food in the refrigerator, it is advisable to seal it to prevent water evaporation and thus keep fruit and vegetables fresh on the one hand, and to prevent odours on the other.
• Do not put too much or too heavy food in the refrigerator. Leave enough space between the food; if they are too close together, they will block the flow of cold air, which will affect the cooling effect. Do not store too much or too heavy food to prevent the shelves from bending. When storing food, leave a distance from the interior wall; do not place water-rich food too close to the inner wall of the refrigerator to prevent it from freezing on the interior wall.

Storing food by category

Place daily food items at the front of the shelf so as to reduce the door opening time and avoid food spoilage due to expiry.

Energy-saving tips

Let hot food cool down to room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator. Place frozen food in the refrigeration compartment to defrost them; you can use the low temperature of the frozen food to cool the fresh food to save energy.

Storing fruits and vegetables

Please note that some types of fresh vegetables and fruits are sensitive to cold and therefore not suitable for storage in the refrigerator crisper drawer or in the freezer compartment.

6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, disconnect the power plug; do not connect or disconnect the power plug with your hands wet, as there is a risk of electric shock and injury. Do not spill water directly on the refrigerator to avoid rust, electrical leakage and accidents. Do not reach into the bottom of the refrigerator, as you may get scratched by the sharp metal corners.

Cleaning the interior and exterior

• Food residues in the refrigerator can cause undesired odours, so you should clean the refrigerator regularly. Clean the refrigerator at least once a month.
• Remove all shelves, the crisper drawer, etc., and clean them with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with warm water or neutral detergent.
• Clean the dust that accumulates on the rear panel and side plates of the refrigerator regularly.
• After using neutral detergent, make sure you rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with a cloth.
• Do not use bristle brushes, steel wire brushes, detergent, soap powder, alkaline detergent, benzine, petrol, acid, hot water, or other corrosive elements to clean the refrigerator surface, door gasket, plastic decorative parts, etc. to avoid damage.
• Carefully dry the door gasket and clean the slot with a wooden stick wrapped with cotton. After cleaning, fix the four corners of the door gasket and then gradually push it into the slot in the door.
• If the refrigerator will not be used for a long period of time, unplug it from the mains, empty all food, and clean the appliance, leaving the door ajar to avoid unpleasant odours.

Power failure or cooling system fault

• Keep frozen food in case the refrigerator stops working for a prolonged period of time (such as power failure or breakdown of the refrigeration system).
• Try to open the refrigerator door as little as possible, so that you can keep food in good condition for hours, even in summer.
• If you receive an early power failure warning:
• Set the thermostat knob to the highest setting one hour in advance so as to completely freeze the food (do not store new food during this time!). Set the temperature back to the original setting when the power supply returns to normal.
• You can also make ice in an airtight container and place it on the top chamber of the freezer to extend the shelf life of fresh food.

Note:

Once the refrigerator starts to be used, it is best to use it continuously; and under normal circumstances, do not stop using it, so as not to affect the service life.

Replacing the light bulb

The refrigerator has a LED light with low consumption and a long shelf life. In case of any malfunction or anomaly, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service. LED bulbs may only be replaced by qualified personnel.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING

For the following minor malfunctions, please try to solve the problem yourself before contacting the official Cecotec Technical Support Service.

Abnormal noise.	The refrigerator is not stable.	Set the adjustable feet of the refrigerator.
	The refrigerator is too close to the wall.	Separate the refrigerator from the wall.

Low cooling efficiency.	The food inside is hot or there is too much food.	Store food in the refrigerator when at room temperature.
	You open the door too often. The door gasket has objects that do not allow to close it completely.	Check and close the door.
	The selected temperature is too high.	Correct temperature settings.
	The appliance receives direct sunlight or is close to a heat source.	Remove the refrigerator from the heat source.
	It is not well ventilated.	Ventilate the room.
Unpleasant smells in the refrigerator.	There is spoiled food inside.	Dispose of food which is spoiled.
	The refrigerator should be cleaned.	Clean the refrigerator.
	Food with a strong odour stored inside the refrigerator.	Pack the strong smelling foods.
