Frequently Asked Questions - BPA-065 HOMEDICS
How to position the cuff correctly?
Place the cuff around your bare arm, about 2-3 cm above the elbow crease, with the tube pointing downward. The lower edge should be level with your heart. Tighten firmly without overcompressing.
What does the arrhythmia symbol on the screen mean?
The arrhythmia symbol indicates that an irregular heartbeat has been detected during measurement. It does not replace a medical diagnosis. Consult your doctor if this symbol appears frequently.
How many batteries are needed and how to replace them?
The device uses 4 AAA batteries (1.5 V). Open the battery compartment on the back, insert the batteries respecting the polarities, then close.
How to delete stored measurements from memory?
Press and hold the M button for 3 seconds until the screen shows 'CLR'. Release to delete all data for the active user.
Why do measurements differ between the right and left arm?
It is normal to have a slight difference (up to 10 mmHg) between the two arms. Always use the same arm for consistency of measurements.
How often should I measure my blood pressure?
For reliable monitoring, measure at the same time each day, ideally in the morning before breakfast and/or in the evening before bed, after 5 minutes of rest.
What to do if the screen displays 'Error'?
An error may occur if the cuff is incorrectly positioned, if you move during measurement, or if the pressure is insufficient. Check the cuff and try again. Refer to the manual if the problem persists.
Can I use the device with a pacemaker?
The device is designed for general use. For pacemaker wearers, consult your doctor before use, as measurements may be less accurate.
How to clean the blood pressure monitor?
Clean the device and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical or abrasive products. Never immerse the device or cuff in water.
Where can I buy a replacement cuff?
The replacement cuff (ref. BPA-065-CUFF) is available on the official Homedics website or from authorized dealers. Make sure to order the correct size.
