How do I use the Guzzanti GZ-135 popcorn machine?
Plug in the machine, add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels to the kettle, close the lid, and turn the switch to ON. The machine will heat and pop the kernels. Once popping slows, turn off and unplug. Use the stirring rod to mix if needed.
What is the maximum capacity of the GZ-135?
The kettle holds up to 4 ounces (113 g) of kernels, which yields approximately 12 cups of popped popcorn.
Can I add butter or oil before popping?
No, the machine is designed for dry kernels only. Adding oil or butter may cause smoking or fire. Season after popping.
How do I clean the popcorn machine?
Unplug and let cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove the kettle and wash with warm soapy water; dry thoroughly before reassembly. Do not immerse the base in water.
Why is my popcorn machine not heating?
Ensure it's plugged into a working outlet and the switch is in ON position. If still not heating, the thermal fuse may have tripped; allow to cool for 30 minutes and try again. If problem persists, contact support.
Is the machine safe to leave unattended?
No, always supervise the machine while in use. It has auto shut-off for overheating, but popcorn can burn quickly.
Can I use the GZ-135 for other foods?
No, this machine is intended only for popcorn. Using it for other foods may damage it or cause a hazard.
How long does it take to pop a batch?
Typically 3 to 5 minutes after turning on. Listen for popping sounds; when pops are 2-3 seconds apart, the batch is done.
What should I do if popcorn burns?
Immediately turn off and unplug. Let cool, then clean the kettle thoroughly to remove burnt residue. Avoid overfilling kernels to prevent burning.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Replacement kettles, heating elements, and stir rods are available from Guzzanti's official website or authorized dealers. Use only genuine parts.

HOW TO OPERATE

Before first use, clean the Bowl and Lid by removing the Lid from the Bowl and wiping both with a moist, non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth. Dry thoroughly with a non-abrasive dry towel.

Remove the Stirring Rod from the Base by turning the Center Knob counterclockwise. Wipe the Stirring Rod and Base with a moist, non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth and then wipe with a non-abrasive dry towel. Replace the Stirring Rod and make sure the rod fits into the notched area around the screw. Secure by turning the Center Knob clockwise.

  1. Find a flat surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure your power cable is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cable if needed. But the extension cable diameter must be equal to or greater than the machine itself the wire diameter, and with a ground wire.
  2. Gather your popcorn making supplies: popcorn, seasonings and cooking oil.
  3. Using Oil Measuring Cup, add 1 cup (about 35ml) of oil to the nonstick Base (oil may also be added through the ventilation slots).
  4. Using the Kernel Measuring Cup (about 4 ounces), add 1 cup of corn kernels and place the kernels in the nonstick Base (DO NOT exceed 4 ounces of popcorn kernels).
  5. For every Kernel Measuring Cup full of kernels (about 4 ounces), add 1 Oil measuring Cup of oil (about 35ml). For best results, soft-shelled popping corn and vegetable oil is recommended.
  6. Plug in the appliance while the switch is in the OFF position.
  7. Turn the appliance ON by flipping the switch on the front of the Base. In no time at all, you will hear the popping begin.
  8. Always remove the Lid while kernels are popping. This will allow the steam to vent through the top.
  9. Once popping stops, turn the appliance OFF, then unplug.
  10. Secure the Lid to the top of the Bowl.
  11. While wearing oven gloves, remove the Base and then flip the lid over. You will have hot, fresh and delicious popcorn ready to serve!

  12. To achieve better effect, always let the appliance cool down for about 15 minutes before next circle use.

HELPFUL TIPS

NEVER leave the appliance unattended while operating.

Smoking

If the appliance begins to smoke during cooking, it may be due to grease build up. In order to reduce smoking, make sure that you clean the nonstick surface of the Base between uses.

Popcorn

Never run the appliance in the case of no oil and corn.

For best results, use an all natural soft-shelled popping corn.

Organic Popping corn is not recommended for use in the appliance as it has a harder husk and will result in more unpopped kernels.

For best results, cooking oil would be better added before you switch on the appliance.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Make sure the appliance is unplugged and cooled before cleaning.
  2. Remove Stirring Rod from Base by unscrewing the Center Knob. Wipe with a moist non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth and dry.
  3. Wash the Bowl and Lid in warm, soapy water with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a non-abrasive towel.
  4. Clean the nonstick surface of the Base with a non-abrasive, damp and soapy cloth. Then wipe the surface until clean and then dry with a dry, non-abrasive cloth.

NEVER use a scouring pad nor abrasive cleaners on the Base, as scratching may occur.
