Frequently Asked Questions - TK 220/1 EINHELL
How to change the blade on the Einhell TK 220/1?
Unplug the saw. Raise the blade guard. Use the arbor lock to hold the blade. Loosen the arbor nut with a wrench (clockwise on the left side, counter-clockwise on right). Remove the outer flange and old blade. Install new blade with teeth facing downward. Reassemble and tighten nut securely. Lower the guard.
What is the recommended blade for the TK 220/1?
A 220mm diameter blade with 30mm bore, suitable for wood cutting. Einhell recommends a carbide-tipped saw blade with 24 to 40 teeth for general purpose cuts.
How to adjust the cutting depth?
Loosen the depth adjustment lever (usually located below the table). Raise or lower the blade using the handwheel. Tighten the lever to lock the desired depth. The depth should be about 3-5mm more than the material thickness.
How to set the mitre angle?
Loosen the mitre angle lock knob. Tilt the blade to the desired angle (0° to 45°) using the scale indicator. Tighten the knob. Check with a square for accuracy. Always make test cuts on scrap.
How to use the parallel guide?
Insert the parallel guide rods into the table holes. Slide the guide to the desired distance from the blade. Lock it in place with the clamping lever. Ensure the guide is parallel to the blade by measuring front and back. Use a push stick for narrow cuts.
What safety precautions should I take when using the TK 220/1?
Always wear safety goggles and hearing protection. Keep hands away from the blade. Use a push stick for small pieces. Ensure the blade guard and riving knife are properly installed. Never make freehand cuts. Disconnect power before blade changes or maintenance.
How to clean the saw?
Unplug the saw. Remove dust using a brush or vacuum. Wipe the table with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents. Clean the blade with blade cleaner. Lubricate the height and tilt mechanisms with light oil.
What should I do if the saw does not start?
Check the power cord and plug. Ensure the safety switch is engaged. Inspect the carbon brushes; if worn, replace them. Check the motor reset button (if applicable). If the problem persists, contact Einhell service.
How to replace the carbon brushes?
Unplug the saw. Remove the brush caps located on the motor housing. Pull out the old brushes. Insert new brushes (same size). Ensure they slide freely. Reinstall caps. Run the saw for a few minutes to seat the brushes.
How to adjust the riving knife?
Unplug the saw. Loosen the riving knife mounting screws. Set the knife so it is aligned with the blade teeth and its height is just below the blade's highest tooth. Tighten screws. Ensure it does not contact the blade.
