Yes, the GD4IP supports both Art-Net and sACN protocols. You can configure multiple universes in the web interface to use either or both protocols.
What power supply do I need?
The GD4IP can be powered via PoE 802.3af (Power over Ethernet) or via the included 5V DC adapter. If using PoE, ensure your switch provides PoE.
How many DMX universes does the GD4IP support?
It supports 4 independent DMX universes (each up to 512 channels). Each universe has its own DMX output (5-pin XLR).
How do I reset the GD4IP to factory defaults?
Press and hold the Reset button (located near the power port) for 10 seconds using a paperclip. The device will reboot with factory settings.
Can I merge DMX signals from two sources?
Yes, the GD4IP offers HTP (Highest Takes Precedence) and LTP (Latest Takes Precedence) merging modes configurable via the web interface for each universe.
What is the maximum cable length for DMX?
The maximum recommended DMX cable length is 300 meters (984 feet) for a single universe. For longer runs, use a DMX repeater.
Does the GD4IP work with ChamSys MagicQ software?
Yes, the GD4IP is fully compatible with MagicQ and other ChamSys consoles. It can be discovered automatically on the same network.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from the ChamSys website. Access the web interface of the GD4IP, go to System > Firmware Update, and upload the file. Do not power off during update.
What do the LED indicators mean?
The Power LED shows solid green when powered. Each DMX LED blinks when data is being transmitted on that universe. The Network LED indicates link activity.
