Frequently Asked Questions - DHT83LES SMEG

How do I clean the lint filter?
Open the door, pull up the lint filter, remove lint by hand or with a soft brush, rinse under water if needed, dry and reinsert. Clean after every cycle.
Why is the drying cycle taking longer than usual?
Check if the lint filter is clogged, the condenser needs cleaning, or the load is too large. Also ensure the room temperature is not too low.
Can I dry wool items in this dryer?
Yes, use the Wool program with low heat. However, check the garment care label first.
How do I empty the water tank?
Pull out the water tank from the bottom front, empty it, and reinsert. The indicator will remind you when full.
What does the 'Clean Condenser' message mean?
It indicates the condenser needs cleaning. Remove the lower panel, pull out the condenser, rinse with water, dry, and reinstall.
How do I set a delayed start?
Select your program, press the Delay Start button, and use the +/- buttons to set hours (up to 24). Press Start to confirm.
The dryer is not starting. What should I check?
Ensure the door is closed properly, the power cord is plugged in, and the child lock is deactivated (press both buttons simultaneously).
How often should I clean the condenser?
Every 30 cycles or when the indicator lights up. Regular cleaning maintains drying efficiency.
Can I install this dryer under a countertop?
Yes, the DHT83LES is designed for built-in installation. Leave at least 2 cm clearance on sides and back for ventilation.
What is the recommended load size for maximum efficiency?
For best results, load up to 8 kg but not less than 1 kg. Overloading reduces drying performance and increases energy use.
