Frequently Asked Questions - 2406755 Kooper

How do I fill the water tank of my Kooper 2406755 iron?
Unplug the iron. Open the water inlet cover. Tilt the iron and slowly pour tap water or distilled water into the tank up to the 'MAX' mark. Do not overfill. Close the cover securely.
Can I use tap water in my iron?
Yes, you can use tap water. However, if you live in an area with hard water, it is recommended to mix tap water with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio to reduce scale buildup. Using only distilled water can also extend the iron's life.
How does the auto shut-off feature work?
The iron automatically switches off if left untouched for 8 minutes when in vertical position or 30 seconds if tipped over or left on its soleplate. To restart, simply move the iron; it will heat up again.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a mild non-abrasive cleaner or a soleplate cleaning stick. Do not use scouring pads.
Why is my iron not producing steam?
First, check that the water tank is filled. Ensure the temperature dial is set to the steam range (usually 2 dots or more). If still no steam, the iron may need descaling. Use the self-clean function: fill tank, set to max heat, unplug, then hold iron over sink and press self-clean button.
Can I use the iron for vertical steaming on hanging clothes?
Yes, this iron supports vertical steaming. Hang the garment securely, set the temperature to high (for cotton/linen), and press the steam shot button while holding the iron vertically. Keep the iron at least 5 cm from the fabric to avoid burning.
What is the best way to store the iron after use?
Unplug and let the iron cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Wrap the cord loosely around the heel stand (never tightly) and store the iron upright on its heel in a dry place. Do not store on the soleplate.
How often should I descale my iron?
Descale every 1-2 months depending on water hardness. Use the self-clean function: fill tank to 'MAX', set temperature to maximum, unplug, hold over sink, and press the self-clean button. Steam and scale will flush out.
What should I do if the iron leaks water?
Leaking often occurs if the iron is not hot enough for steam. Ensure the temperature is set to the steam zone. If leaking persists, the anti-drip valve may be defective. Also check that the water tank is not overfilled. If the problem continues, contact customer support.
Is the iron covered by a warranty?
Yes, Kooper typically offers a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase for manufacturing defects. For specific warranty terms, refer to the warranty card included with your product or contact Kooper customer service.
