4 Preparation

Before starting your machine, please be aware of the following points:

Did you plug the cable?

Did you connect the draining hose correctly?

Did you close the front door?

Did you open the tap water?

Sorting the Laundry

Sort laundry according to type of fabric, color, level of dirtiness, and allowed washing temperature. Do not wash white laundry together with colored ones. Remove hard parts like belts, wrist buttons, curtain buttons, etc., or place laundry in a cloth bag. Empty pockets. Zip up and button up. Very tiny laundry like baby clothes may get into the inside of the drum, midst of the bellow, pump filter, hose, etc. To prevent this, it is advised to place such laundry in a special laundry string bag or large laundry. Your machine can wash "Machine Wash" or "No-matting" labeled woolen with the special woolen program. Delicate laundry with "Do not wash" or "hand wash" labels (silk, cashmere, pure wool, etc.) can be washed in the special hand-wash program.

Opening the front door

Pull the handle to open the front door. Your machine's front door is designed to be opened only when the machine is not operating. If the LED displays "door", then the door can be opened.

Loading the machine with laundry

Fill the machine by unfolding and not squeezing the laundry. Place hand-woven garments inside-out in the machine. Make sure there is no laundry jammed between the bellow and the front door. Close the loading door by pushing. If the loading door is not properly closed, the machine will not start.

Selection of detergent and softener

The quantity of detergent used depends on the hardness of the water and how soiled the laundry is. Recommended values are indicated on the package. If your laundry is lightly soiled and/or the water hardness is low, use less detergent than indicated on the package. Otherwise, it may result in excessive foam.

You should use detergent specially designed for automatic washing machines. Avoid using bleach products containing sulfur or chlorine. Place powder detergent and softener in the appropriate drawer compartments and close the detergent dispenser.

BEKO WMD 26121 T - Selection of detergent and softener - 1

a. Powder detergent drawer for pre-wash. b. Powder detergent drawer for main wash. c. Softener dispenser. d. Siphon.

Fill the softener as indicated (usually <100ml; 1 tea bag) on the package. Never fill more than the "MAX" level. Excess amount will drain to the suction cup and be wasted. You might need to fill the softener again. If the softener has thickened over time, add some water for thinning. Softener may obstruct the siphon and block the flow.

Auxiliary Functions

Express: Shortens washing time for lightly soiled fabrics. This function can be used for cotton and synthetic programs for temperatures below 60°C.

Rinse plus: By using this function, your machine will add another rinse process to the three rinse processes that it has already done. This additional rinse will reduce any effects on sensitive skin by washing away leftover detergent.

Anti-creasing: To avoid wrinkling of your clothes, select this function. When anti-creasing is chosen, please load less cloth. This way, a special washing and spinning profile will reduce wrinkles and your clothes will be easy to iron.

Spin speed selection knob: You can spin the laundry up to 1200 cycles/min with the models having cycle selection button. Your machine will spin not more than 800 cycles/min for synthetic programs and 600-400 cycles/min for woollen programs. In addition, if you do not want to spin your laundry, you may choose the "No Spin" position.

Pressing "On/Off"

By pressing the "On/Off" button, you can make your machine ready for selecting a program. When the "On/Off" key is pressed, the "door" LED will light on, meaning "door can open". Press the "On/Off" key again to turn your machine off.

Pressing "On/Off" does not mean the program has started. You must press "Start/Pause/Cancel" to start the program.

Child-proof lock

To prevent children from affecting the program progress by pressing keys during washing, there is a child-proof lock. To enable the child-proof lock, after washing begins, press the Express and Rinse Plus function buttons together simultaneously for three seconds. The Pre-wash additional function LED will blink continuously.

After the program ends, to start a new program or alter the program, you must disable the child-proof lock. To do this, press the same buttons for three seconds, and the Child-proof lock LED will turn off.

Function Selection

Additional functions that can be selected according to the selected program can be chosen by pressing the related key. The LED of the selected function will turn on.

Some additional functions cannot be selected together. For example, when using the cotton program, the Express and Rinse Plus auxiliary functions cannot be selected together. After selecting the Express program, if the Rinse Plus key is pressed quickly, the program will be on and the Express function LED will turn off.

Program Progress

After the machine starts operation, the relevant program LED on the program progress display will turn on. When a step is completed, that step's LED turns off and the next step's LED turns on. When the program is completed, the "Door" LED will turn on again.

During machine operation, you can press the "Start/Pause/Cancel" key to put the machine in "Pause" mode. In this case, the "Start/Pause/Cancel" LED will blink.

Changing Program

You can use this feature to wash laundry in the same textile group at lower or higher temperatures. For example, instead of Cotton60, Cotton40 can be used. To select Cotton40 instead of Cotton60, press the "Start/Pause/Cancel" key to switch the machine to pause position. Then turn the program knob to select the Cotton40 program.

Even if the program selection knob is changed during the program, the initially selected program will be executed. To change

Detergent Dispenser

Powder detergent residue may accumulate in the drawer after a while. To clean the detergent drawer, press the marked point of the siphon on the softener compartment and pull the drawer towards you. Wash the drawer with water.

Siphon

Do not neglect cleaning the suction cup when it becomes soiled. To take out the suction cup, first take out the detergent drawer. Clean it to eliminate blocking by softener residue. After cleaning,

the washing program must be cancelled if it is still running.

Selected auxiliary functions must be compatible with the washing program.

Adding laundry

If you want to add laundry to your machine after the program begins, press the Start/Pause key to switch the machine to pause mode. If the water level in the machine is appropriate, the "door" LED on the program progress display will be on, and laundry can be added to the machine. If the "door" LED is not on after one minute, then the water level in the machine is not appropriate, and laundry cannot be added. You can press the "Start/Pause/Cancel" key to continue the program.

Water Inlet Filters

There is a filter at each end where the water inlet hose is connected to the tap and at each of the water inlet valves placed behind the machine. These filters block the entrance of foreign objects and dirt into the machine. Filters must be cleaned regularly to avoid clogging. To do this, turn off the tap water. Pull out the water inlet hoses. Clean the top of the water inlet valve filter with a brush. If the filters are extremely clogged, you can pull them out with pliers. You can take out the tap side of the water inlet hoses with its seal and clean it with tap water.

Hose

There is a risk of freezing in cold regions. If your machine is placed in a cold place, remaining water in the hoses must be drained with the pump filter when the machine is not used. Water inlet hoses can be drained by taking them out from the tap.

BEKO WMD 26121 T - Hose - 1

BEKO WMD 26121 T - Hose - 2

Cleaning Pump Filter

There is a filter system that maintains the long lifetime of the pump by blocking foreign objects like buttons or cloth fibers from entering the pump during the drain of washing water. It is useful to clean the filter when it is soiled. To do this:

Unplug your machine. Open the filter at the bottom right corner by pressing the marked space on the lid. Hot water risk: There might be 15 liters of 90°C hot water in the drum. Open the filter carefully.

2. Leveling the feet

BEKO WMD 26121 T - Leveling the feet - 1

To operate your machine without noise and vibration, it must be properly balanced. The four feet of your machine can be adjusted. First, loosen the plastic counter bolt. Tighten the counter bolt after adjusting the feet to level your machine.

3. Water Connections

BEKO WMD 26121 T - Water Connections - 1

a) Water Inlet Hose: Your machine is connected to the water supply by special hoses supplied with the machine.

There are plastic seals on the hose or in the plastic bag to prevent leakage at connection points. These seals must be used on each side of the connection. Seals on the machine side must be

connected correctly.

After connecting the hose, check all connections for leaks. To eliminate any risk due to water leakage, keep the taps off when the machine is not in use.

Your machine will operate efficiently if the water pressure from the tap is between 1 and 10 bars. Practically, 1 bar means 8 liters of water per minute when the tap is fully open.

Connect the hose to the machine. Tighten the bolts by hand; do not use a spanner.

Do not connect a single inlet machine to hot water. If a single inlet machine is connected with a Y part to a double inlet and the water temperature exceeds 40°C, the machine may switch to protection mode.

b) Water drain hose: The water drain hose can be placed either at the side of the bathtub or directly into the drain. The hose should not be bent. The water drain hose should be secured with the holder so that it does not fall to the ground.

The hose should be placed between 40 and 100 cm from the ground. The water drain hose can be placed directly into the drain water inlet.

4. Electrical connection

Connect the power cord to an appropriate electrical system that supports the maximum voltage and current rating indicated on the rating plate located on the washing machine.

See Page 1, Steps before operating the fully automatic washing machine and safety precautions. Make sure you have a grounded power outlet.

Cleaning the pump filter

There is a filtering system that, during the discharge of washing water, blocks the entry of foreign bodies, such as buttons, fabric fibers into the pump and thus maintains a long working life of the pump. It is advisable to clean the filter when it is dirty.

To do this:

Unplug the machine. Press the marked place on the cover to open the filter located in the lower right corner.

Before opening the filter, drain the water using the drain hose. Pull the drain hose out of its place. Prepare a suitable container and open the hose clamp. After draining the water, properly return the clamp to its place. Turn to open the filter and drain the remaining water (max 30ml) over the filter on the clamp. Remove any remaining foreign objects from the filter. When done, turn clockwise to close. Close the filter clamp by pressing.
