PROPERTIES OF YOUR NEW DESIGN MINI CHOPPER PLUS

Your new Design Mini Chopper Plus comes with 3 pairs of blades that may be used separately or in combination. The lower pair of blades is integrated in the blade shaft. The other 2 pairs of blades can be removed to fit the desired purpose.

According to the variety of processed foodstuff, the motor may be operated in 2 speeds.

  1. Pressing only slightly onto the ON/OFF button, the motor agitates with the slow speed 1.
  2. When pressing firmly onto the ON/OFF button, the high speed 2 is activated.

After operation, you simply disassemble all parts of the appliance coming in contact with food. This makes emptying and cleaning effortless. Additionally, for your convenience, you may clean the glass container, cutting assembly, and lid in the automatic dishwasher (see: 'Care and Cleaning').

Safety Concept

For your protection, your new Design Mini Chopper Plus is equipped with some safety features. The safety interlocks assure that the motor will not operate unless the appliance is assembled correctly (see: 'Assembling the Appliance').

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to damage or by-pass the safety interlocks! Do not attempt to operate the appliance using others than the designated parts or using parts that are damaged in any way. Only operate the motor unit with the designated parts completely and correctly assembled.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

You may use your new Design Mini Chopper Plus to cut, grind, and mix several types of food. Please, adhere to the following tips to get best results.

  • Do NOT use this appliance to mix glutinous food.
  • If you wish to blend or cut bigger amounts, use all three pairs of blades.
  • When using all three pairs of blades (with solid food), please ensure that the amount of ingredients covers the middle pair of blades fully and reaches just the upper pair of blades (500-600 ml).
  • This appliance is designed to process small amounts. Do not exceed the amounts indicated in these instructions. With liquids, do not fill in more than 400 ml. When processing foaming food (e.g. egg white, cream), do not fill in more than 200 ml. However, at least the food must always cover the lowest blade (approx. 125 ml).
  • The processing time depends on the type, quality, and amount of your food and the desired consistency. However, normally the processing time for one filling of

the glass container will reach only several seconds (see table below).

  • The maximum time of continuous processing should not exceed 10 seconds. In order to achieve the desired processing times, use the appliance with pulses and intermediate brakes of 10 seconds.
  • Cut bigger foods into smaller pieces of approx. 3-4 cm in size.
  • Cheese: The appliance grades every kind of cheese perfectly, even soft cheese. Use two or three pairs of blades and run the appliance with pulses.
  • Tomatoes, nuts, onions etc.: For fine chopping, use two or three pairs of blades and run the appliance with pulses.
  • Caster sugar and Cereals: Only use the lower pair of blades. The ingredients must cover the blades completely. After grinding sugar, cereals, or other dry ingredients, always wait at least 1 minute before opening the lid. Always keep away any sources of ignition (e.g. fire, cigarettes) to avoid the risk of dust explosion.
  • Ice: For ice crushing, use all three pairs of blades and run the appliance with pulses. It is good advice to place the glass container into the freezer for some minutes before processing.
  • Fruits: Wash your fruits thoroughly. Remove all inedible and extremely hard parts (e.g. peels and shells, stalks, seads). Additionally, remove all hard, thick, bitter, or chemically treated peels (e.g. of citrus fruits).
  • Frothing up (cream, milk, egg white, etc.): For frothing up, only fill in 200 ml at the maximum (lowest blade is just covered). Otherwise, the glass container could froth over. If froth is escaping besides the motor, immediately release the ON/OFF button and unplug the appliance.

Processing Cooked Food and Baby Food

  • Especially when preparing meals for babies and sick or invalid persons, before feeding/serving you should ensure that no large pieces are still left within the meal.
  • To get a complete meal, cut the food into small pieces, add some liquid (e.g. broth, juice, or milk) and first mix the ingredients with pulses in the Design Mini Chopper Plus. To blend the mixed food, press the start button continuously for up to 10 seconds at the maximum until you reach the desired result.
  • Do not process hot food. Leave your food cool down to room temperature.
  • With liquid foods (e.g baby food crème) use the lower pair of blades to mix the ingredients. Ensure that the food is not hot and the amount does not exceed 400 ml.

- For chopping cooked food (vegetables, meat, fruits etc.), use two or three pairs of blades and run the appliance with pulses. To blend the food or make fruit purées, press the start button continuously for a few seconds until you reach the desired result.

Guidelines for Processing

See the following table for guidelines concerning the processing time, used pairs of blades and processing speed.

  2. If you had used the middle and/or upper pair of blades, you may remove these pairs of blades for cleaning. Only the lower pair of blades is integrated in the blade shaft. However, use special care, when handling any part of the cutting assembly as the blades are very sharp. Place the disassembling tool onto a stable surface (table or counter). Insert the cutting assembly with the lower pair of blades into the well of the disassembling tool. Hold the blade shaft tightly at the upper plastic end. Then grasp the removable pair of blades at the fluted part of its plastic body and turn it clockwise to unlock it. Pull the pair of blades upwards to remove it from the cutting assembly. If required, repeat this procedure for the other removable pair of blades.

Cleaning the Motor Base

  1. Wipe the motor unit and power cord with a slightly damp cloth. Then wipe dry. Thereafter, leave the motor unit and power cord dry naturally for approx. 30 minutes, where they are out of reach of young children.

Cleaning the Glass Container, Cutting Assembly, and Lid

⚠ WARNING: Pay special attention when cleaning the cutting assembly as the blades are very sharp and may cause severe injury. Do not touch the blades with your hands.

TIP: Dried-on residues on glass container, cutting assembly or lid are easily removed after soaking the affected parts in lukewarm dishwater for 10 minutes before cleaning.

TIP: You may clean glass container, cutting assembly, lid, lid seal and silicone ring in an automatic dishwasher. If possible, use the upper rack.

  1. Clean the glass container, non-slip silicone ring, lid, and lid seal in warm dish-water using a soft nylon brush or dishcloth.

  2. Hold the blade shaft and pairs of blades only by the plastic parts ensuring not to touch the blades with your hands. Clean the parts of the cutting assembly via a soft nylon brush.

  3. After cleaning, rinse all parts thoroughly with clear tap water.

  4. Dry all parts and leave the parts dry naturally for at least half an hour where
