How do I assemble the blender?

Place the rubber gasket on the blade unit, then screw the blade unit onto the jug. Fit the lid and ensure it locks properly. Finally, place the jug on the motor base and align the arrow.

Can I blend hot liquids?

Do not blend liquids hotter than 60°C. Hot liquids can create pressure and cause the lid to blow off, leading to burns.

How to clean the blender easily?

Add warm water and a drop of dish soap to the jug, close the lid, and run the blender on pulse for 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly.

What is the maximum capacity?

Maximum liquid capacity is 1.5 liters. For thick mixtures, do not exceed 1.2 liters.

Why is the blender leaking?

Check if the gasket is properly seated or damaged. Ensure the blade unit is tightened correctly. Replace the gasket if needed.

Can I crush ice?

Yes, but only use short pulses. For best results, add a little liquid and do not exceed 5-6 ice cubes at a time.

What does the pulse function do?

The pulse function gives short bursts of power for more control, perfect for chopping or mixing ingredients without overprocessing.

Is the glass jug dishwasher safe?

Yes, the glass jug, lid, and blade assembly are dishwasher safe. However, place the blade unit on the top rack for safety.

How to store the blender?

Wrap the cord around the base. Keep the blender on a dry, flat surface. Do not store with heavy objects on top.

Where can I get spare parts?

Spare parts can be ordered from Philips official website or authorized service centers. Common parts include the jug, blade unit, and gasket.

• This appliance is intended for household use only.
• Assemble the appliance properly before plugging it into the wall socket.
• Unplug the appliance immediately after use, i.e. before unscrewing the bar.

• Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

• Do not exceed the quantities and preparation times indicated in the table.
• If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips, a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• If the blades get stuck, UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE before removing the ingredients that are blocking the blades.
• Let hot ingredients cool down before chopping them or pouring them into the beaker (max. temperature 80°C/175°F).

Using the appliance

Chopper (types HRI356, HRI357 only)

- The chopper attachment can be used for chopping ingredients such as nuts, meat, onions, hard cheese, dried fruits, chocolate, garlic, herbs, dry bread etc.

If the ingredients stick to the chopper beaker wall, loosen them by adding liquid or using a spatula.

- Make sure the coupling unit has been properly fitted onto the chopper beaker.

2 Cut large ingredients into pieces of approximately 2 cm/l inch before processing.

Bar blender

The bar blender is intended for:

• Blending fluids, e.g. dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed drinks, shakes.
• Mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or mayonnaise.
• Pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making baby food.

Immerse the blade guard completely in the ingredients.

2 Switch the appliance on and blend the ingredients by moving the appliance slowly up and down and in circles.
3 The speed settings allow you to adjust the speed of the appliance to obtain optimal results. See the table for the recommended speed settings (HR1357 only).
4 You can use the filter accessory to obtain extra finely blended sauces or juices (HRI357 only).

Whisk (type HR1357 only)

• You can use the whisk attachment to whip cream, egg whites, desserts etc.
  I To obtain a good whipping result, please use a wider bowl.
  2 To avoid splashing, insert the whisk into the bowl, switch the appliance on and whip the ingredients by slowly moving the appliance in circles.

Cleaning

Clean the beaker, the lid, the filter, the chopping beaker, the blade unit and the whisk in the dishwasher or in warm soapy water.
It is recommended to remove the rubber ring from the chopper before cleaning.
2 The blade unit and the whisk of the bar blender can also be cleaned by immersing the blade guard or the whisk in warm soapy water and letting the appliance run for a while.
3 Wipe the motor unit, the coupling unit of the chopper (HRI356 & I357) and the coupling unit of the whisk (HRI357) with a damp cloth. Do not immerse these parts in water!
