Frequently Asked Questions - Impact Plus FC8381 PHILIPS

How do I replace the dust bag?
Open the front cover, remove the full bag, insert a new Philips s-bag Classic until it clicks, then close the cover.
How often should I clean the HEPA filter?
Clean the HEPA filter every 3 months or when the filter indicator shows red. Tap it gently or rinse with water and let dry completely before reinserting.
What type of filter does the FC8381 use?
It uses a HEPA 10 washable filter (part number: Philips 4222 466 30250).
Why is the suction power weak?
Check if the dust bag is full, the filter is clogged, or the hose is blocked. Empty the bag, clean the filter, or remove obstructions.
How do I rewind the power cord?
Press the cord rewind button located on the top of the vacuum. Hold the plug while rewinding to prevent it from whipping.
Can I use the vacuum without a bag?
No, the Philips Impact Plus FC8381 requires a dust bag for proper operation. Using it without a bag may damage the motor.
What accessories are included?
The package includes a combination nozzle, a crevice tool, and a small brush. Additional accessories can be purchased separately.
How do I change the crevice tool?
Simply pull the current accessory off the wand or hose and push the new one on until it clicks.
Is the vacuum suitable for pet hair?
Yes, the Philips Impact Plus works well on pet hair. Use the combination nozzle for carpets and the crevice tool for upholstery.
What should I do if the vacuum overheats?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Check for blockages and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes. The thermal overload protection will reset automatically.

USER MANUAL Impact Plus FC8381 PHILIPS

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference.

  • Only use Philips s-bag™ double-layer paper dustbags or the cotton dustbag provided.
  • Never suck up water or any other liquid. Never suck up ashes until they are cold.
  • When the vacuum cleaner is used to suck up fine dust, the pores of the dustbag may become clogged, causing the passage of air through the dustbag to become obstructed. As a result, the 'dustbag full' indicator will indicate that the dustbag needs to be replaced, even though the dustbag is not full at all.
  • Never use the appliance without the Motor Protection Filter. This could damage the motor and shorten the life of the appliance. If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced by Philips or a service centre authorised by Philips in order to avoid hazardous situations.

Noise level: Lc= 80 dB(A)

To connect the hose, push it into the appliance and turn it clockwise (fig. 1).

To disconnect the hose, turn it anticlockwise and pull it out of the appliance.
