Keep these instructions with your machine. If you sell this machine to another person second-hand, make sure you give the new owner these instructions. Please read these instructions before installing and using your machine. They are written for your safety and that of others.
a) Safety Instructions
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS TO BE READ CAREFULLY AND KEPT FOR A SUBSEQUENT USER
General information
This machine is only intended for domestic use for cooking and reheating food.

Only use this machine for the purposes described in the manual. It may only be used in a covered, enclosed and heated environment such as a kitchen or any other room meeting the same specifications. The manufacturer denies all responsibility in the event of inappropriate use.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Children must not play with the machine. - Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
Safety Instructions for Installing the Machine

Install or place this plancha as the installation instructions recommend.
- This machine must not be placed on furniture.
- Do not obstruct your machine's air inlets.
- If this machine is covered or in contact with a flammable material including curtains, drapes and similar items, there is a fire risk when it is working.
- The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remotecontrol system.
- CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
- Only the appropriate connector must be used.
Safety Instructions for Using the Machine

CAUTION : VERY HOT SURFACE
The machine and its accessible parts may become hot during use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids must not be placed on the plancha as they may become hot.

If the surface is cracked turn off the machine to prevent a probable electric shock.
Safety Instructions for Cleaning the Machine

Turn off the plancha and unplug the power cable before cleaning.

Lack of maintenance for the plancha may lead to deterioration of the surface and thus damage to the machine.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the machine should not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 and are supervised.
- This machine must be cleaned regularly and all food residues removed.
- Do not use an abrasive sponge or metal scraper to clean the plancha because they might scratch the surface.
- For your safety a steam cleaner must not be used.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
However, this product is guaranteed by your distributor. For more details please refer to the guarantee conditions provided by the distributor. The connector must be removed before the appliance is cleaned and that the appliance inlet must be dried before the appliance is used again.
Non-compliant use
The manufacturer denies all responsibility in the event of non-compliant use. This machine is exclusively intended for the use described in the manual.

3) USE OF THE MACHINE
a) Before Using for the First Time
Before using the machine for the first time wash the plancha in warm water with washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive detergents or metal scourers. After cleaning, dry the plate and the units. (For further information refer to the "Looking After and Cleaning Your Machine" section).
b) Use of the machine

Only use wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.

Do not cut food on the plate and do not use pointed objects to handle the food.
- Connect the thermostat unit to the electric unit.
- Place the thermostat on Position "0".
- Unplug the machine from the wall socket.
- Select the desired cooking marker (by aligning it with the operating light).
- When the light goes out the set temperature has been reached.
- After use place the thermostat on "0", unplug the machine and wait until it is cold before handling it.
N.B. To make it easier for the cooking juices to run into the fat collection tray, use the tilt stand located under the electric unit.
The 5 thermostat positions correspond to the following temperatures:

4) LOOKING AFTER AND CLEANING YOUR MACHINE
a) Looking after your Machine
Before cleaning the machine unplug the lead from the wall socket and then disconnect the machine's thermostat unit.
- Cleaning the plate

The machine cannot be washed in the dishwasher.
Clean the plate using a soft, non-abrasive sponge with washing-up liquid or cleaning cream.
Dry with kitchen towel and make sure the electric unit is dried properly.
Note: Do not use metal scourers or abrasive detergents because they may damage the non-stick surface.
Tips: To facilitate cleaning you can place a little rock salt on the non-stick surface and rub lightly with a damp sponge to remove burnt-on fat. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry.
- Cleaning the fat collection tray
Clean it with warm water and washing-up liquid. It can also be washed in the dishwasher.
- Cleaning the thermostat unit and the power lead.

Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
You can clean them by wiping with a slightly damp sponge or cloth.
