How do I connect my phone via Bluetooth?

Enable Bluetooth on your phone, then press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. Select "ION Block Party Live" from the device list.

How do I use the microphone input?

Plug the included microphone into the MIC jack. Adjust the microphone volume using the dedicated dial. You can sing along while audio is playing.

The radio reception is poor, what should I do?

Make sure the FM antenna is extended. Move the speaker near a window or away from interference sources. Perform an auto scan for stations.

How do I charge the battery?

Use the included power adapter and plug it into the DC IN jack. The LED indicator shows charging status. It takes about 5 hours for a full charge.

What is the Bluetooth range?

The Bluetooth range is approximately 30 meters in open space. Obstacles (walls, furniture) may reduce this distance.

Can I connect multiple speakers?

Yes, the Link function (if available) allows you to connect two compatible speakers for stereo sound. Refer to the manual for the procedure.

How do I clean the speaker?

Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Never use chemical or abrasive products. Avoid moisture entering the grilles.

What if the sound is distorted?

Reduce the overall volume and the microphone volume. Check that cables are not damaged. Move the microphone away from the speaker to avoid feedback.

How do I adjust the LED lighting?

Press the LIGHT button to change lighting modes (steady, pulse, etc.). Press and hold to turn off the LEDs.

Where can I find the serial number?

Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable lead-acid batteries are the same type used in automobiles. As with your car battery, how you use this battery has a significant impact on its lifespan. With proper use and treatment, a lead-acid battery can last for years. Here are some recommendations for getting the longest life from the internal battery.

GENERAL USAGE

• FULLY CHARGE THE BATTERY BEFORE USING IT.
- CHARGE THE BATTERY COMPLETELY AFTER EACH USE.

STORAGE

• For best product longevity, do not store at exceedingly hot (greater than 90F (32C)) or exceedingly cold (less than 32F (0C)) temperatures.
  • It is acceptable to leave your sound system plugged in. This will not overcharge the battery.
  • If you leave the battery level low and do not charge it for 6 months, it may permanently lose capacity.

REPAIR

- If the battery fails to charge, check your fuse near the power cable input. If your fuse is intact and it still will not charge, contact ION Audio at ionaudio.com.

DISPOSAL

- Bring the unit to a recycling center or dispose of in accordance with local ordinances.

Quick Setup/Connection Diagram

1. Make sure all items listed in Box Contents at the beginning of this guide are included in the box.
2. READ SAFETY INSTRUCTION BOOKLET BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.
3. For optimal performance, place Block Party Live in the center of the room so it is unobstructed by walls, furniture, etc.
4. Move Light Mode switch to OFF.
5. Turn down the Master Volume on the Block Party Live.
6. Turn on Block Party Live.
7. Connect your music player with an audio cable or Bluetooth. (see Connecting with a Bluetooth Device for more details on this)
8. Adjust the volume on your music player and on Block Party Live as needed.
9. Adjust the Light Mode switch on Block Party Live as needed.
10. Turn off Block Party Live when not in use.

Diagram and Parts Description

1. Microphone Input with Volume Control (1/4"): This mono input accepts a 1/4" input such as a microphone, guitar, or other musical instrument.
2. Auxiliary input: This stereo 1/8" input can be used to connect a smartphone, MP3 player, or other audio source.
3. Bluetooth: The Paired LED will be lit when a device is paired to Block Party Live. This LED will not be lit when Block Party Live is first powered on (unless it was previously paired with a device). Press the Disconnect button to disconnect a paired Bluetooth device.
4. Master Volume Control: This adjusts the speaker's main mix volume, which includes Microphone Input, Auxiliary Input, and the audio of a paired Bluetooth device.

5. Light Mode: There are three modes to select from for how the dome lights react to the music.

6. Auto = the dome lights spin and change color with a predetermined pattern regardless of the beat of the music playing.

7. Beat Sync = the dome lights spin and change color to the beat of the music playing.

8. App Mode = the dome lights are controlled using the mobile app (available for Android or iOS).

9. Power LED: Indicates whether Block Party Live is on or off.

10. Charging LED: This illuminates when the unit is attached to wall power and is in the process of charging.

11. Battery Level Indicator: While the unit is powered ON and the unit is not plugged in, these four lights indicate the power left in the battery. Battery life varies based on volume and usage.
12. Dome: The dome light can spin and react to the music playing (depending on the Light Mode that is selected).
13. Power Cable Input (IEC): Insert the included power cable here to power the unit.
14. Power ON/OFF Switch: Turns Block Party Live on or off.
15. Air Vents: These air intake and air outtake vents operate when Light Mode is turned on to ensure the light dome operates efficiently.

Note: Please ensure these vents do not get covered or blocked.

Troubleshooting

If the sound is distorted: Try lowering the volume control of your sound source or musical instrument. Also, try to reduce the overall volume of Block Party Live.

If there is too much bass: Try adjusting the tone or EQ control on your sound source to lower the bass level. This will allow you to play the music louder before clipping (distortion) occurs.

If there is a high-pitched whistling noise when using microphones: This is probably feedback. Point the microphone away from the speaker.

If you can't hear the microphone over the music volume: Turn down the music volume from your source.

Connecting with a Bluetooth Device

1. Turn on your Bluetooth device.
2. Power on Block Party Live and it will automatically go into pairing mode to search for Bluetooth devices. You will know you are in pairing mode when the LED is off.
3. If your Bluetooth device is not able to pair to the amp, press the disconnect button on the amp to break previous Bluetooth connections and reset the Bluetooth module.
4. Navigate to your Bluetooth device's setup screen, find "Block Party Live" and connect.
   Note: If your Bluetooth device prompts for a pairing code, enter '0000'.
5. The Paired LED will light up solid when it is 'paired'.
   Note: If you experience trouble pairing or playing music, update your device's OS.
6. To disconnect pairing, press the 'Disconnect' button on Block Party Live.
7. To connect to another Bluetooth device, repeat steps 3-4.
   Note: Maximum range will be achieved when using devices with Bluetooth 4.0.

Installing the Party Rocker App

IMPORTANT: To ensure the best possible experience with the app, use the most current Android OS or iOS on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch (not included).

Note: Ensure that your device has internet access via your service provider or wireless connection. You can also download the free app on your computer, but remember to connect and sync your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to transfer the app to iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.

Follow these steps below to download the app on your Android device, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch:

1. On your device, go to the respective Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Search for the free Party Rocker app and download it. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Party Rocker app.
3. Once downloaded, the Party Rocker app will appear on your device's home screen.
4. Launch the app.

The following parameters on Party Rocker Live can be controlled via the Party Rocker app:

• Motor speed control
• Individual colors on/off
• Flashing "strobe" effect
• All lights on/off
• Beat Sync vs. Auto Mode
