How to install the Alpina SF5098 insect killer?

Place the device on a flat surface, away from humidity. Plug it into a 220-240 V power outlet. Leave the UV lamp on continuously to attract insects.

What type of insects does the device attract?

The UV lamp emits light that attracts flying insects such as mosquitoes, flies, moths and other light-attracted insects.

Is the device dangerous for humans or pets?

The device is designed with an outer protective grid to prevent accidental contact with the live grid. However, it is not recommended to place it within reach of children or pets. Unplug it when cleaning.

How to clean the device?

Unplug the device. Remove the removable collection tray and empty it. Clean the grid with a soft brush or paintbrush. Never use water or liquid products on electrical parts.

Does the UV lamp need to be replaced?

Yes, the UV lamp has a lifespan of about 3000 hours. Replace it with an identical lamp (reference ALPINA SF5098-L). Unplug the device before changing the lamp.

Does the device make noise?

The device is almost silent. You may occasionally hear a slight crackling sound when an insect is electrocuted. This noise is normal and indicates proper operation.

What is the coverage area of the device?

This Mos-Trap ^™ H-MAN Mosquito Trap is an environmentally friendly product, all parts, such as TiO ₂ , Lactic-Acid and 1-octen-3-ol are all safe to use by humans.

Your H-MAN Mosquito Trap is designed to reduce mosquito infestation. It may take several weeks of use to reduce the large population of mosquitoes, to a point that your mosquito problem is under control. Further operation of the unit can then be ceased until any further infestation (possibly after rainfall).

If you are planning an outdoor function, operate the Trap for several days before the function.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Mos-Trap ^TM H-MAN Mosquito Traps should be used in conjunction with other sensible control measures designed to manage mosquito problems.

Save these instructions

1. Keep children and pets away from the Trap.
2. Always disconnect from the mains power before cleaning, or inspecting inside of the Trap.
3. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet protected from weather.
4. Do not operate the Trap with a damaged transformer, power cord or plug.
5. Ensure the Trap is properly installed in accordance with this operation manual.
6. Do not touch the trap as it reaches internal temperature between 40^irc and 70^irc and it could harm your finger.

Instruction for Use

1. Take the Trap from the carton.
2. The Mos-Trap ^TM H-MAN Mosquito Trap can be used indoor or outdoor.
3. Place the trap on a clean and level surface. If the trap is to be hang, then the trap should be at least 2 to 3 feet (0.75-1 meter) above the floor or ground level.

ENGLISH

1. Twist off the bottom and remove the adhesive paper on the surface of the Lactic-Acid and the Octenol and then twist back. Lactic-Acid and the Octenol are the attractive features for mosquitoes. The Octenol has a smell similar to mushroom. This is completely harmless to humans, but may mean you wish to operate outdoors only.
2. Before twisting on the bottom, please ensure that the catch bag is securely fastened to the inside the Trap.
3. Plug into electrical outlet and turn the power on.
4. When the Trap is operating, the fan should be working & the lure mosquito TUBE should be flashing.
5. If the Trap is not operating correctly, Check if the Power Cable is properly connected to both the Trap and the mains, and that the power is switched on. If the light of the Mosquito Trap turns on but the Fan fails to operate, check whether there has been a build up of material in the Fan which prevents the blade from turning. If it still fails to operate, then contact your Authorized Distributor.

Using the Catch Bag

1. Ensure that the Trap is switched off and disconnect from the mains power.
2. Pull the drawstring tight so that any mosquitoes that remain alive cannot escape. Crush the top of the Catch Bag down on its base. Dispose the contents well away from your dwelling so as not to attract ants.
3. Mosquitoes collected in the Catch Bag will usually die quickly without access to moisture. In times of heavy infestations of mosquitoes, it may be necessary to empty the Catch Bag on a regular basis in order to ensure optimum operation of the Trap.
4. Catch Bags should be hand washed in warm soapy water from time to time.

Using the Lactic-Acid and 1-octenol

In common, we supply you a three-conjoint plastic bottle, in the middle is Octenol, and on both side are Lactic-Acid, they are both safe to humans.

To Install or replace the Lactic-Acid and Octenol:

1. Ensure Mosquito Trap is unplugged.
2. Remove bottom.
3. Remove the Lactic-Acid and Octenol plastic bottle from pouch, and add a new one inside. Replace bottom. Reconnect power.
4. Lactic-Acid and Octenol should be effective for 45-60 days depending on weather condition.

ATTENTION: keep Lactic-Acid and Octenol out of reach of children.

Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
2. The Catch Bag should be cleaned and washed when required.
3. Heavy catches of mosquitoes may result in a build-up of material in the internal casing and blade tips of the Fan. If this happens use a small sponge or toothbrush with warm soapy water, to clean the inside casing of the Fan and the Fan Blades.
4. Leave the Trap for at least 24 hours before using it again.

Disposal of your old appliance

1. When this crossed-out wheeled bin symbol is attached to a product it means the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC.
2. All electrical and electronic products should be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities.
3. The correct disposal of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
4. For more detailed information about disposal of your old appliance, please contact your city office, waste disposal service or the shop where you purchase the product.
