AVVERTENZE DI SICUREZZA
The user has to follow the safety regulations in force in the country where the grinder is in use, in addition to the rules suggested by common sense and the directions contained in this manual.
In order to guarantee proper operation of the grinder and preservation in time of its features, the user is advised to check the right environmental conditions (room temperature must range between 5° and 35°C). To avoid the use of the grinder in places where jets of water are used in outdoor environments exposed to the action of the weather (sun, rain, etc.).
After removing the coffee dosing grinder from its packaging, make sure that it is intact and it is not damaged.
The packaging must be delivered to the proper waste disposal centres and in no case left unattended or to the reach of children or animals.
Before starting the grinder, make sure that the power supply voltage specified in the data plate placed under the base of the grinder is used in the country.
Put the grinder in a safe place, on a solid base, away from heat sources and out of the reach of children.
Before connecting and disconnecting the grinder, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is on the OFF position.
Do not use the grinder without any coffee beans or when the bell jar is not in its place.
It is forbidden to remove from the grinder the safety protections and/or devices provided for.
Unplug the grinder from the power socket when it is
not in use and before cleaning it, without pulling the electric cable.
Do not use the grinder if it is not working properly or if the electric cable or the plug are damaged; the user is advised to replace the electric cable or to have the grinder checked by an authorised SERVICE CENTRE.
To avoid damages use only accessories and spare parts that have been approved by the manufacturer. In case of grinder failure or faulty operation, switch it off. Do not try to repair it yourself but refer to an authorised SERVICE CENTRE to have any worn or damaged parts replaced with original spare parts.
In case of unauthorised repairs carried out on the grinder, or the use of non original spare parts the guarantee is not valid anymore and the manufacturer will reserve the right to no longer acknowledge its validity.
Do not use the grinder outdoors.
Do not use the grinder for any use different from the one for which it has been manufactured.
Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the grinder by placing the ON/OFF switch on the OFF position and remove the plug from the power socket without pulling the power electric cable.
To avoid fires, electric shocks and personal damage, never immerse the grinder, the electric cable or other electrical components in water.
In case of fire, use carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers. Do not use water or steam extinguishers.
In case of misuse any form of guarantee is not valid and the manufacturer declines any liability for damages to people and/or things.
Will be regarded as misuse:
- any different use from the one declared;
- any intervention on the grinder that is not in line with the indications listed in this manual;
- any use of the grinder that has been tampered with components or safety devices;
- use of the grinder outdoors.
The manufacturer declines any liability for damages to things, people or animals, caused by any intervention on the grinder by non qualified people or by people who have not been authorised to carry out such functions.
Do not remove in any case the safety cover placed on the selector, under the bell jar. This is meant to prevent the access to the rotating grinder and to avoid any injury.

1 - INTRODUCTION
This instruction manual is an integral part of the grinder, it should be read carefully and should always be available for consultation; it should be kept for the whole life of the grinder.
In case of lost or deterioration, you can ask for a new manual from an authorised SERVICE CENTRE.
The manual contains the information regarding the proper use of the coffee dosing grinder, to its cleaning and maintenance, and it supplies important indications for carrying out operations requiring special attention and for possible residual risks.
The manual reflects the technological innovations at the time of its publishing; the manufacturer reserves the right to introduce all the technical modifications required on its products and to update the manuals with no obligation to also review the previous versions.
LA PAVONI S.p.A. declines any liability for damages that may be directly or indirectly caused to people or things for the improper use of the coffee grinder:
- failure to comply with all the prescriptions of the current safety regulations;
- improper installation;
- improper voltage;
- illegitimate or incorrect use of the coffee dosing grinder;
- incorrect use as specified in this manual;
- serious maintenance shortcomings;
- alterations on the grinder or any unauthorised intervention;
- not original use of spare parts which are not especially meant for the model;
- total or partial failure with the instructions;

2 -FUNCTIONS OF THE COFFEE DOSING GRINDER
This grinder has been designed for the home grinding of whole coffee blends suitable for the preparation of espresso coffee.
The user must read carefully and clearly understand the directions contained in the manual, so as to be able to use the grinder properly.
2.1 - GRINDER USE
The JOLLY DOSATO models can supply:
- ground coffee with grinding regulation
- preset coffee dose for one cup of espresso coffee.

3 - DISPOSAL
This product complies with EU Directive 2002/96/EC.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product.
For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

5 - ELECTRIC CONNECTION
Warning! Before making the electric connection, make sure that the main power voltage corresponds to the specifications indicated on the data plate placed under the base of the grinder.
6 - STARTING THE GRINDER
- Insert the plug of the electric cable in the power socket..
- Remove the lid (1) of the bell jar and fill the bell jar (2) with coffee beans.
- Place the switch (6) on the I position; the internal warning light shows that the grinder is on, at the same time, grinding will start; once the desired amount of coffee has been ground, place the switch on the O position to stop the grinding process.
The grinder is already set on bar-type grinding.
7 - GRINDING REGULATION
To change the grinding regulation, turn the bell jar (2) clockwise to bring the grinders closer and obtain a finer grinding, or anticlockwise to distance them and obtain a coarser grinding; please refer to the regulation selector scale (3) that you will find on the base of the bell jar.
8 - COFFEE DOSING
Ground coffee will deposit inside the container (5).
To fill the filter basket placed in the coffee machine filter-holder, follow the steps outlined below:
- Place the filter basket inside the filter-holder and together in the fork provided (7) into the dosing grinder (the device is equipped of one reducer (10) to put into the fork (7) to fit to the dimensions of the filter-holder).
- Pull slowly the lever (8) of the dosing device as much as possible, to allow delivery into the filter basket of the amount of ground coffee set for one cup of espresso coffee.
Repeat the operation if you are preparing two cups of coffee.

9 - CLEANING OPERATIONS
Clean it after each use and sometimes carry out a more accurate cleaning procedure on the bell jar (2) and on the ground coffee container (4), to remove any oily substances.
Before conducting any kind of cleaning operation, unplug the electric cable from the power socket.
9.1 - CASING CLEANING
To clean the grinder casing from coffee powder and dirt, use a damp cloth, non abrasive cloth, without alcohol or solvents, to avoid damaging the plastic, painted or treated parts.
9.2 - BELL JAR CLEANING
After having emptied the bell jar (2) from any coffee beans, remove it from the body of the grinder by pulling it upwards; clean the inside with soapy water, dry carefully and fit it back on the grinder.
For safety reasons, we recommend not to use the grinder without the bell jar.
9.3 - GROUND COFFEE CONTAINER CLEANING
Place the container under the dosing grinder fork (7).
Pull the dosing grinder lever (8) as many times as required to empty the ground coffee container (5).
Remove the container from the body of the grinder as follows:
- seize the container (5) with one hand
- press the button (9) to release the container
- pull it out.
Wash the inside with soapy water to remove any coffee residues and oily substances, dry it carefully and fit the container back in its place on the body of the grinder by following the above steps in the reverse order.
