POWER SUPPLY
The main power supply is engaged when the main plug is plugged in a 220-240 V\~, 50 Hz AC outlet. To operate the unit, press [∅ (standby-on)] to turn on the unit.
WARNING: LIVE PARTS INSIDE. DO NOT REMOVE ANY SCREWS.
CAUTION
1) Do not attempt to open the cabinet. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
2) Slots and openings in the cabinet and the sides or bottom are provided for ventilation. To ensure reliable operation and to protect the unit from overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered.
Avoid installation in enclosed spaces such as bookcases unless proper ventilation is provided.
3) Keep the unit away from radiators and other heat sources.
4) Do not push objects of any kind into the unit through the cabinet slots or openings as they could touch electrically live parts or short circuit parts resulting in a fire or electric shock.
5) To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this unit to dripping or splashing, no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the unit.
6) Use the unit on a horizontal (flat) surface only.
7) Do not place any combustible objects on the unit (candles, etc.).
8) The LCD panel used in this product is made of glass. Therefore, it can break when the product is dropped or applied with impact. Be careful not to be injured by broken glass pieces in case the LCD panel breaks. The LCD panel is a very high technology product with 921,600 thin film transistors, giving you fine picture details. Occasionally, a few non-active pixels may appear on the TV screen as a fixed point of blue, green or red. Please note that this does not affect the performance of your product.
9) Disconnect the mains plug to switch off when the unit becomes faulty or not in use.
10)The mains plug shall remain readily operable.
11) Read the manual instructions to ensure correct and safe installation and interconnection of the unit in multimedia systems.
12) Keep a distance of 20 cm around the ventilation openings of the unit.
13) Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
Do not place the unit on the furniture that is capable of being tilted by a child or an adult leaning, pulling, standing or climbing on it. A falling unit can cause serious injury or even death.

ATTACHING THE STAND
You need to attach the stand to the unit to display upright. Make sure the front and rear of the stand match the proper direction.
1) Place the unit face down onto the soft stuff such as a cloth on a table. Be careful not to damage the unit screen.
2) Hang the hook under the bottom of the main unit to the stand's hole (shown arrow ①), then slide down the stand in the direction of the screen (shown arrow ②). Make sure not to put the AC power cord between the stand and the unit.
3) Drive Phillips pan screws in the 3 threaded holes at the bottom of the stand with a screwdriver tightly.

To remove the stand from this unit
Unscrew the Phillips pan screws indicated by “③”. Pull up the stand in the direction of the rear of the unit. Be careful not to drop the stand when you remove it.
Note: • When attaching the stand, make sure that all the screws are tightly fastened. If the stand is not attached properly, the unit may fall down, resulting in injuries as well as damage to the unit.
- Make sure to use the table which can support the weight and size of the unit.
- Make sure that the table is in a stable location.
All operations described are based on the use of the remote control. Some operations can be carried out using the buttons on the control panel.

26.COMPONENT (Y/Pb/Pr) / AUDIO (L/R) input jack
Connect an RCA component video and an RCA audio cable (not supplied) to the component video and audio output jack of an external device.
27.S-VIDEO input jack
Connect an S-Video cable (not supplied) to the S-Video output jack of an external device.
28. VIDEO input jack
Connect an RCA video cable (not supplied) to the video output jack of an external device.
29.PC-IN AUDIO input jack
Connect a mini-plug audio cable (not supplied) to the audio line out jack of a PC.
30. HEAD PHONE jack
Connect a headphone.
31. AUDIO (L/R) input jack
Connect an RCA audio cable (not supplied) to the audio output jack of an external device.
Note: The AUDIO (L) jack is for monaural input. The sound is heard from both speakers. Use this jack for a monaural audio device.
32.SCART jack
Connect a scart cable (not supplied) to the scart jack of an external device.
33.(Aerial) input jack
Connect an RF coaxial cable (not supplied) to an antenna or RF output jack of a cable system.
34.PC-IN (RGB) input jack
Connect a VGA cable (not supplied) to the monitor jack of a PC.
35.HDMI (HDMI 1 / HDMI 2) input jack
Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) to the HDMI output jack of an external device.
36.C.I. (Common Interface) slot
Common Interface (CI) Module: Insert the CI module.
37.AC power cord
Connect to a standard AC outlet to supply power to this unit.
Note: \* service terminal (service use only)
- Use this terminal only when a software update is necessary.
- User should not connect any devices to the service terminal such as digital camera, keyboard, mouse, etc. (because these will not work).
- The software update is, in most cases, handled by an authorized service person or in some circumstances the user may be asked to do the software upgrade themselves.
Installing the Batteries
1) Open the battery compartment cover.
2) Insert "R6/AA" penlight batteries into battery compartment in the direction as indicated by the polarity (+/-) markings. Batteries installed with incorrect polarity may damage the remote unit.
3) Close the cover.
4) Push the cover on its top side until it clicks in order to fit the cover completely to the compartment.

Antenna Connection

1) Connect an RF cable (not supplied) to (Aerial) input jack at the rear of this unit.
2) Plug this unit into an AC outlet.
3) The STAND BY / POWER indicator on the front panel lights red, then press [☐ (standby-on)] to turn on the unit.
Note: If you like to connect an active DVB-T antenna, the antenna must have its own power supply.
It is not possible to power the antenna from the TV.
External Connection
[HDMI CONNECTION]
HDMI connection offers the highest picture quality. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) transports high definition video and multi-channel digital audio through a single cable.
Connect the HDMI output jack of your video device and the HDMI-IN (HDMI 1 or HDMI 2) jack of this unit. Use an HDMI cable (not supplied).

Dear Customer,
By connecting an HDMI cable to your Funai LCD TV, you have to use only a certified HDMI cable to guarantee a sufficient immunity against parasitic frequency radiation.
A certified HDMI cable can be identified by the HDMI logo on the cable or the cable package.

Note:
- This unit accepts 480i / 480p / 576i / 576p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p video signals and 32 kHz / 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz audio signals.
- This unit accepts only 2 channel audio signals (LPCM).
- You need to select "PCM" for the digital audio output of the device you connect. Make sure the device outputs the digital audio. Audio sometimes makes no sound if you select "Bitstream", etc.
[SCART CONNECTION]
Scart connection offers better picture quality.
Connect the scart jack of your video device and the SCART jack of this unit. Use a scart cable (not supplied).

[COMPONENT CONNECTION]
RCA component video connection offers better picture quality.
1) Connect the component video output jack (Y, Pb, Pr) of your video device and the COMPONENT video (Y, Pb, Pr) input jack of this unit. Use an RCA component video cable (not supplied).
2) Connect the audio output jack of your device and the AUDIO (L/R) input jack of this unit. Use an RCA audio cable (not supplied).

[S-VIDEO CONNECTION]
S-Video connection offers good picture quality.
1) Connect the S-Video output jack of your video device and the S-VIDEO input jack of this unit. Use an S-Video cable (not supplied).
2) Connect the audio output jack of your device and the AUDIO (L/R) input jack of this unit. Use an RCA audio cable (not supplied).

1) Connect the video output jack of your video device and the VIDEO input jack of this unit. Use an RCA video cable (not supplied).
2) Connect the audio output jack of your video device and the AUDIO (L/R) input jack of this unit. Use an RCA audio cable (not supplied).

[PC CONNECTION]
If you connect this unit and your PC, you can use this unit as a computer monitor.
1) Connect the monitor jack of your PC and the PC-IN (RGB) jack of this unit. Use a VGA cable with ferrite core (not supplied).
2) Connect the audio line out jack of your PC and the PC-IN (AUDIO) jack of this unit. Use a mini-plug audio cable (not supplied).

Precautions for the connection to other devices:
- Please use the VGA cable that has a ferrite core.

Note: Other formats or non-standard signals will not be displayed correctly.
Initial Setting
DTV AT
You need to set the followings to use the unit appropriately for the first time you turn on the unit.
1) Press [⏻ (standby-on)] to turn on the unit.
- "Initial Setup" language menu will appear.
Note: The settings may be limited by the location you purchased.
2) Press [▲ / ▼] repeatedly to select the menu language you want, then press [OK].

3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select the country you want, then press [OK].

- Scan confirmation menu will appear.
4) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Scan", then press [OK].
- Channel scanning will start automatically.

- When the scanning is completed “Congratulations !!” message will appear.
Note: • If you select "Skip" in scan confirmation menu, the operation will be cancelled.
- If you press [BACK] during auto scanning, the operation will be cancelled.
Watching a TV Programme
DTV AT
To select a channel
Press [P /] repeatedly to select your desired channel.
or
Press [the Number buttons] to enter a channel number then [OK] for quicker access.
- If you want to select the channel 24 without pressing [OK], press [2] first, then press [4] within 3 seconds.
To adjust the volume
Press [▲+ / - ] to adjust the audio volume.
- You can see the volume bar while adjusting the volume.

Press [minute] to turn on or off the sound right away.
- You can recover the original volume by pressing [OK (mute)] again or [▲ + / - ] .

Sleep Timer
DTV AT
You can set the unit to be turned off automatically after a set time period (from 10 to 120 minutes).
1) Press [SLEEP].
- Sleep timer display will appear.
2) Press [SLEEP] repeatedly to change the sleep time period.
- Between Off and 60 minutes, the interval of time is 10 minutes. After 60 minutes, the timer increases by 30 minutes until Off.

To cancel the sleep timer
1) Press [SLEEP].
- Sleep timer display will appear.
2) Press [SLEEP] repeatedly until "Sleep Off" appears.

Note: If you disconnect the unit from the AC outlet or if a power failure occurs, the sleep timer will be cancelled.
Switching the Input Mode
DTV AT
You can switch the input mode to TV mode or external input mode.
1) Press [INPUT].
- "Select Input" menu will appear.

2) Press [▲ / ▼] to select the input mode you want, then press [OK].
Note: • To watch TV, select "TV".
- To use the video or S-VIDEO input jack on the unit, select "VIDEO".
- To use the COMPONENT (Y/Pb/Pr) input jack on the unit, select "COMPONENT".
- To use the SCART jack on the unit, select "SCART".
- To use the PC-IN (RGB) jack on the unit, select "PC".
- To use the HDMI-IN (HDMI 1) jack on the unit, select "HDMI 1".
- To use the HDMI-IN (HDMI 2) jack on the unit, select "HDMI 2".
DTV
1) Press [SOUND] to display the currently selected audio language and the number of available languages.
2) Press [SOUND] repeatedly to cycle through the available audio languages.
ATV
1) Press [SOUND] to display the currently selected audio mode.
2) Press [SOUND] repeatedly to cycle through the available audio mode.
- The display image can be found on the “TV Screen Information” at the right column.

3) Press [BACK] to exit.
- TV Screen information menu will automatically disappear in a few seconds.
DTV
You can easily find a channel or see the detailed channel information. EPG gives you scheduled information of the TV programmes.
1) Press [GUIDE].
- EPG will appear.

2) Press [▲ / ▼] to select a channel, then press [▶].
- Press [RED] or [GREEN] to move the channel list to the previous or next page.
- Press [OK] to watch the selected channel.
3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select a programme.
- Press [RED] or [GREEN] to move the programme list to the previous or next day.
- Press [OK] to watch the selected programme if it is currently available.
4) Press [YELLOW] to display more detailed programme information.

Note: When the programme information consists of more than 2 pages, press [RED] or [GREEN] to move to the previous or next page.
5) Press [GUIDE] to exit.
Changing the TV Screen Display Mode
DTV AT
You can select your favourite TV screen size.
Press [ASPECT] repeatedly to switch the TV screen display mode.
For SD (Standard Definition) video signal

Selects the TV screen display mode automatically. This is the default.
"Sidebar"
Displays a 4:3 picture at its original size. Sidebars appear on both edge of the TV screen.
"Full"
Displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size; the picture is stretched horizontally to fill the TV screen.
"Cinema"
Displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size; the picture is stretched horizontally and vertically to fill the TV screen. This crops out the top and bottom of the picture.
"Wide"
Displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size; the centre of the picture is at its original size and the edges stretched horizontally to fill the TV screen.
"14:9"
Displays a 4:3 picture at a 14:9 size. Sidebars will be displayed on both edge of the TV screen.
For HD (High Definition) video signal

Picture Adjustment
DTV AT
You can adjust the picture settings according to your personal preference. These settings are automatically stored after exiting the picture menu.
1) Press [MENU] to display the menu.
2) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Picture", then press [OK].
"Picture Mode"
3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Picture Mode".
4) Press [◀/▶] to select the setting (“Standard, Dynamic, Movie, News, Personal”) you want.

"Colour Temperature"
3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Colour Temperature".
4) Press [◀/▶] to select the setting (“Cool, Normal, Warm”) you want.

You can set to activate the flesh colours or not.

- When the scanning is completed, "Scan Completed" message will appear.
- If you press [MENU] during the scanning, this operation will be stopped and the lowest memorised digital channel will be displayed.
- Please note that after tuning, the analogue channels will be stored in the order that they are broadcast by your local transmitter. This may not be in the same order in which you would like them to be stored. If this is the case, you can change the order according to your preference. To do this, see "Channel Sort" on page 23.

Channel Decode

Some TV stations transmit encoded TV signals which can only be viewed with a purchased or hired decoder. You can connect such a decoder to SCART jack of the unit. This function will automatically activate the connected decoder for the channel.

3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Channel", then press [OK].
4) Press [▲ / ▼] to select “Channel Decode”, then press [OK]. • “Channel List” will appear.

You can adjust the teletext presentation level. Level 2.5 offers more colours and better graphics than Level 1.5.

6) Press [MENU] to exit.
To show the teletext
1) Press [≡ (text)] to turn on the teletext decoder.
- “Teletext” information will appear.
2) Press [☐ (text)] repeatedly to show the teletext in transparent mode or picture and teletext mode.
Note: • If you want to select other pages, press [the Number buttons] or [▲ / ▼].
- To enlarge fonts, press [图标 (expand)].
- To select the teletext subpages, press [(subpage)] , then press [the Number buttons] to enter the subpage number.
- To directly select the page numbers shown at the bottom of the TV screen, use [RED/GREEN/YELLOW/BLUE].
- To call up the hidden information, press [ (reveal)].
- To hold the current page, press [☐ (hold)].
• To go back to the start page, press [index].
- To hide the teletext, press [SLEEP].
3) Press [☐ (text)] to turn off the teletext decoder.
C.I. (Common Interface)

This unit is equipped with a C.I. slot. You can enjoy additional services with this function, for example Pay TV. The access restrictions menu will appear on the TV screen when a CI module is installed.
1) Turn off the unit and unplug from an AC outlet.
2) Insert the CI module straight to the C.I. slot of this unit.
- Some CI modules may be a two-piece design consisting of a card reader with the viewing card. When using this kind of card, insert the card reader firmly into the C.I. slot on the unit first. Then, insert the viewing card into the reader.

3) Plug this unit into an AC outlet and press [☐ (standby-on)] to turn on the unit.
4) Press [MENU] to display the menu.
5) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Setup", then press [OK].
6) Press [▲ / ▼] to select “Common Interface”, then press [OK].
7) Follow the instructions on the TV screen.
Note: • In case of failure, you need to call your CI service provider.
- Menu operations may vary depending on the viewing card. Refer to the manual accompanying the viewing card.
Reset Default
You can restore all the settings to the default except the memorised channels and parental settings.
1) Press [MENU] to display the menu.
2) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Setup", then press [OK].
3) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Reset", then press [OK].
- Confirm message box will appear.
4) Press [◀/▶] to select [OK].
- All the settings are restored to the default except the memorised channels and parental settings.

Parental Setting

You can set the maturity rating, lock the channel, or set the password.
1) Press [MENU] to display the menu.
2) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Parental", then press [OK].
3) Press [the Number buttons] to enter the 4-digit number.

- If you have not set up your password, enter 0000.
- After entering the password, "Parental" menu will appear.
Note: If you select "Reset", all the settings (except the memorised channels) are reset to the default.
"Channel Lock"
You can set particular channels to be invisible.
4) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Channel Lock", then press [OK].
- "Channel List" will appear.
5) Press [▲ / ▼] to select the channel you want to lock, then press [OK].
• “”will appear on the right of the channel.

6) Press [MENU] to exit.
- When you select the locked channel, you need to enter the password to watch.
If you want to unlock

"Enter PIN Code"
You can set your own password.
4) Press [▲ / ▼] to select "Enter PIN Code", then press [OK].
5) Press [the Number buttons] to enter the new 4-digit number.
6) Press [the Number buttons] to enter the same 4-digit number again.

7) Press [MENU] to exit.

You can update the current software when this unit detects a new version of software.
1) When this unit receives software updates automatically, the following message will appear.

- Updating will start automatically.
Note: This process may take up to 60 minutes.
3) After the "Software Download" is completed, press [▶] to restart this unit.

Panel Cleaning
- If the LCD panel should require cleaning, wipe it with a cotton or soft cloth. Before cleaning the panel, disconnect the power cord.
Servicing
- Should your unit become inoperative, do not try to correct the problem by yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Turn the unit off, unplug the power cord, and take the unit to a Service Centre for servicing.
Cabinet Cleaning
- Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the unit with a soft cloth immersed in lukewarm water and wrung dry.
- Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the unit. Such chemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed surfaces.
