The blender does not start, what to do?

Check that the plug is properly inserted and that the safety button is pressed. If the problem persists, consult the manual for common faults.

How to clean the blender shaft?

Detach the shaft and rinse it under lukewarm water. It can also go in the dishwasher (top rack). Dry thoroughly before reassembling.

Can I blend hot foods?

Yes, but do not exceed 80°C and fill the bowl halfway to avoid splashes. Never immerse the shaft in boiling liquid.

How to use the Turbo function?

Hold down the Turbo button for maximum power. Release to return to the selected speed. Ideal for hard foods or ice cubes.

What is the capacity of the measuring bowl?

The included bowl has a capacity of 0.6 liter. It is graduated for easy measuring.

Can I blend ice cubes?

Yes, with the Turbo function or maximum speed. Use medium-sized ice cubes and do not fill the bowl more than halfway.

How to assemble the whisk?

Insert the whisk shaft into the motor unit until it clicks. Turn slightly if necessary. Check that the lugs engage.

The chopper does not work, why?

Make sure the lid is properly locked and the blades are correctly positioned. Do not overload the chopper bowl.

What is the length of the power cable?

The cable is approximately 1.2 meters. For more flexible use, you can use a suitable extension cord.

This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Use the appliance only for processing normal amounts of food and for normal amounts of time for domestic use. Do not exceed permitted maximum quantities (see “Recipes”). The appliance is only suitable for cutting or mixing/blending food. The appliance is not suitable for preparing mashed potatoes (or purées of foods with a similar consistency). The ProPuree masher attachment should be used for this purpose. The appliance must not be used for processing other substances or objects. Additional applications are possible if the accessories approved by the manufacturer are used. Only use the appliance with approved genuine parts and accessories. Never use the accessory parts for other appliances.

Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level.

Important safety information

Read and follow the operating instructions carefully and keep for later reference! Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else. If the instructions for correct use of the appliance are not observed, the manufacturer's liability for any resulting damage will be excluded.

This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Keep children away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not allow them to use the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children.

⚠️ Danger of electric shock and fire!

■ Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Use only if power cord and appliance show no signs of damage. To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a damaged cable must only be carried out by our customer service personnel.

■ Never connect the appliance to timer switches or remote-controllable sockets. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on!

■ Do not place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hobs. The power cord must not come into contact with hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges.

■ Never immerse the base unit in liquids or hold under running water and do not clean in the dishwasher. Do not steam-clean the appliance. Do not use the appliance with damp hands.
■ If your appliance falls in water or some other liquid, then it is not allowed to use the appliance anymore.
■ Only immerse the blender foot into the food as far as the marking max▶ or there will be a risk of electric shock!
■ After each use, whenever the appliance is unsupervised, prior to assembly, prior to disassembly, prior to cleaning and in the event of an error, the appliance must always be disconnected from the mains.

Risk of injury!

■ Before replacing accessories or additional parts which move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the power supply.

■ After switching off, the drive continues running for a short time. Wait until the drive has come to a standstill.

■ Never grip the blade in the blender foot. Never clean the blade in the blender foot with bare hands.

Risk of scalding!

Take care when processing hot food. Hot food may splash during processing.

Risk of suffocation!

Do not allow children to play with packaging material.

Attention!

■ We recommend that the appliance is never switched on for longer than is necessary to process the ingredients. Do not operate at no-load.
■ The blender jug is not suitable for use in the microwave.
■ Never place blender foot on hot surfaces or use in very hot food. Leave boiling food to cool down to at least 80°C before processing. Before using the hand blender in a cooking pot, take the pot off the hotplate.

With the universal cutter, you can use the appliance at full power. If the universal cutter is not included with the hand blender, it can be ordered from customer service (order no. 753122).

Operation

The appliance is suitable for blending mayonnaise, sauces, mixed drinks, baby food, cooked fruit and vegetables. For puréeing soups.

Use the universal cutter for cutting / chopping raw food (onions, garlic, herbs, etc.)!

We recommend you use the blender jug provided. However, other suitable receptacles can also be used.

Caution!

The bottom of the receptacle you use must not have any bumps or steps in it.

■ Clean all parts before using for the first time.

■ Completely unwind the mains cable.
■ Place the blender foot on the base unit and lock into position.
■ Plug the mains plug into the mains.
■ Place the food in the blender jug or another tall receptacle.

The appliance works better if there is some liquid in the ingredients.

⚠️ Risk of electric shock!

Only immerse the blender foot into the food as far as the marking max▶ or there will be a risk of electric shock!

■ Set the required speed with the speed control (Fig. B-5). It is recommended using a low speed setting for liquids, hot food and for mixing (e.g. muesli into yoghurt). The high speed settings are recommended for processing more solid foods.
■ Firmly hold the hand blender and jug.
■ Switch on the hand blender by pressing the required On button.

When switching on the hand blender, hold it at a slight angle to prevent it from „sticking“ to the bottom of the blender jug. The hand blender remains switched on as long as the On button is pressed.

To prevent the ingredients from splashing, do not press the On button until the blender foot has been immersed in the ingredients. Always switch off the hand blender before taking it out of the ingredients.

■ Release the On button after processing.

After using the appliance:

■ Pull out the mains plug.
■ Press the release buttons and remove the blender foot from the base unit.

Cleaning

The appliance must be thoroughly cleaned after each use.

Important information

The appliance requires no maintenance. Thorough cleaning protects the appliance from damage and keeps it functional.

Risk of electric shock

Never immerse the base unit in liquids and do not clean in the dishwasher. Before cleaning the appliance, pull out the mains plug! Do not steam-clean the appliance!

Caution!

Surfaces may be damaged. Do not use abrasive cleaning products.

Note: The plastic parts may become discoloured when processing certain ingredients such as red cabbage or carrots, however this can be removed with a few drops of cooking oil.

■ Pull out the mains plug!
■ Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth and then wipe dry.
■ The blender jug and lid can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
■ Clean the blender foot in the dishwasher or with a brush under running water.
■ Dry the blender foot in an upright position (blender blade face up) so that any trapped water can run out.

Note:

Appliances with a spiral cable:

Never wind the cable round the appliance!

Troubleshooting

Problem

Appliance switches off during use.

Remedy

The overload protection device is activated.

■ Switch off the appliance and pull out the mains plug.
■ Leave the appliance to cool down for approx. 1 hour in order to deactivate the overload protection device.
■ Switch the appliance on again.

If the fault cannot be eliminated, please contact customer service.

Recipes

Mayonnaise

• 1 egg (egg yolk and egg white)
• 1 tbsp mustard
• 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
• 200-250 ml oil
  – Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients must be at the same temperature!

■ Put the ingredients in the jug.
■ Place the hand blender on the base of the jug and blend the ingredients (turbo speed) until the mixture emulsifies.
■ Slowly raise the switched-on blender as far as the upper edge of the mixture and lower again until the mayonnaise is ready.

Tip: According to this recipe, you can also make mayonnaise with egg yolk only.

However, then use only half the amount of oil.

Vegetable soup

• 300 g potatoes
• 200 g carrots
• 1 small stick of celery
• 2 tomatoes
• 1 onion
• 50 g butter
  -2 | water
  – Salt and pepper to taste
  ■ Skin and de-seed the tomatoes.
  ■ Chop cleaned and washed vegetables and sauté in the hot butter.
  ■ Add water and salt.
  ■ Leave to cook for 20-25 min.
  ■ Take the pot off the cooker.
  ■ Purée the soup in the pot with the blender.
  ■ Season with salt and pepper.

Crêpes dough

-250ml milk
- 1 e g g
- 100 g flour
- 25 g melted, cooled butter
■ Put all ingredients in the jug in the indicated sequence and blend into a smooth dough.

Blended milk drinks

• 1 glass of milk
• 6 large strawberries or 10 raspberries or 1 banana (cut up into slices)

■ Put the ingredients in the jug and blend.
■ Add sugar to taste.

Tip: For a milkshake, add a scoop of ice cream or use very cold milk.

Disposal

Dispose of packaging in an environmentally-friendly manner. This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment – WEEE). The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU. Please ask your specialist retailer about current disposal facilities.
