Frequently Asked Questions - ProTouch GC612 PHILIPS

What type of water should I use in the Philips ProTouch GC612?
You can use regular tap water. For best results, especially in hard water areas, use demineralized water to reduce scale buildup.
How do I descale the steam cleaner?
When the descaling alert lights up, fill the tank with a mixture of vinegar and water (1:2) or use the provided descaling kit. Run the cleaner until half the mixture is used, then let it sit for 15 minutes, and finish the cycle. Rinse with clean water twice.
Can I use the ProTouch GC612 on fabrics?
Yes, it is safe for most fabrics like curtains, upholstery, and clothing. Use the fabric brush accessory and keep the steamer moving to avoid heat damage.
How long does it take to heat up?
The heat-up time is approximately 30 seconds. The LED indicator will turn green when ready to use.
What safety features does the GC612 have?
It includes auto shut-off if left idle for 8 minutes, a pressure safety valve to prevent overpressure, and a child lock to prevent accidental operation.
How do I clean the steam cleaner itself?
Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse in water. Clean the soleplate with a non-abrasive cleaner when cool. Descale regularly as per instructions.
Why is the steam output weak?
Weak steam may be due to scale buildup or a blocked nozzle. Descale the unit and clean the nozzle with a pin if necessary. Also check that the water tank is properly filled.
Can I use the steamer continuously?
Yes, it provides continuous steam for up to 15 minutes per tank. The trigger lock allows hands-free operation. Refill when the tank is empty.
What accessories are included?
The package includes a measuring cup, descaling kit, detail nozzle for tight spaces, and a fabric brush. Additional nozzles can be purchased separately.
Where can I find spare parts or get repairs?
Spare parts are available through the Philips website or authorized dealers. For repairs, contact Philips customer service or an authorized service center. The unit is designed for professional repair only.
