What should I do if the docking station is not recognized by my computer?
First, ensure the device is switched on (On/Off switch at the back). Check that the USB cable is securely connected to both the docking station and the computer. Verify the power supply is plugged into the socket and the docking station. If using a new hard drive, it must be formatted and partitioned. Test with a known working hard drive to rule out drive defects.
Which hard drives are compatible with the GD-PD05U?
The docking station supports 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA I, II, and III hard drives (HDDs) and solid-state drives (SSDs). Drives up to 4 TB are supported.
Can I charge devices via the USB ports?
Yes, you can charge any device that normally charges via USB. The three ports have outputs of 1A, 1A, and 2A respectively. The ports support CDP (Battery Charging Spec 1.2) and DCP for fast charging.
How many devices can I charge simultaneously?
You can charge up to three different devices at the same time using the three USB ports.
Does the docking station support One Touch Backup (OTB)?
Yes, it supports One Touch Backup. You need to download the OTB software from the Inter-Tech website (www.inter-tech.de/Service &Support/Downloads/Drivers). After installation, pressing the OTB switch on the front initiates backup of files, folders, or drives.
Is the docking station compatible with USB 2.0?
Yes, it works with USB 2.0 ports, but the data transfer rate will be limited to 480 Mbps instead of the full 5 Gbps available with USB 3.0.
What does the LED indicator mean?
There are multiple LEDs: HDD activity LED (flashes when accessing drive), Operating LED (shows power status), HDD-LED (indicates drive detection), and USB-LED (shows connected devices). Refer to the manual for exact locations.
Can I hot-swap hard drives?
Yes, you can change hard drives without switching off the docking station. However, ensure that no data transfer is in progress to avoid data loss.
What operating systems are supported?
The docking station supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10, as well as Mac OS 10.x and higher. Note that One Touch Backup does not work with Windows 98 or Mac OS.
