How to replace the batteries of the Joycare JC-414?

Open the battery compartment located under the scale. Insert two AAA batteries (1.5 V) respecting polarity. Close the cover.

How to use the tare function?

Place an empty container on the scale, then press the TARE button to reset the display to zero. Then add the object to be weighed.

What is the maximum weighing capacity?

The maximum capacity is 500 g. Do not exceed this limit to avoid damaging the device.

How to switch from one unit of measurement to another?

Press the UNIT button to cycle between grams (g), ounces (oz) and pounds (lb). The selected unit is displayed on the screen.

Why does the scale not turn on?

Check that the batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace them if necessary. Also make sure the compartment is properly closed.

Does the scale display an accurate measurement?

Yes, the accuracy is 1 g. For better accuracy, place the scale on a flat and stable surface, and avoid drafts.

USING THE SCALES

Install the battery in accordance with the polarities shown.

Press the power button. A buzzer will sound indicating the product is switched on. The display will show the letters 'HI' and then the value '0.0 kg'.

Attach the strap to the bag handle and lift the item using the scale handle. When the weight is detected it will set automatically on the display (auto hold function). Press the button again to reset the scales to 0.0 and the device will switch off automatically after a few seconds.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

To change the unit of measurement, press the power button when the display shows 'HI' to convert units from kg to lb (and vice versa). When the display shows the word 'HOLD', press the power button again to unlock the auto hold function.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Please clean the appliance with a damp and soft cloth avoiding any water seepage inside the scale. Do not use chemical detergents. Never deep the product into water. Avoid shaking, dropping or shocking the scale. This is a precision instrument and must be handled with care. Never try to repair the scale by yourself but always address to specialised centres; otherwise, the warranty will be not valid anymore. It is advisable to store the scale in a clean place. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents, can all cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale. When the unit is not used for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove battery, as their leaking can

damage the appliance. When the scale is switched off, never place or lay any objects on it.

Use this product only for its intended purpose, as described in this instruction manual such as an electronic scale for domestic use only. Any other use should be considered improper and dangerous. Packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as they have the potential to be dangerous and their disposal should be carried out according to the current regulations. During the weighing procedure, food must come in contact only with special container, suitable for this purpose. These scales should not be used to weigh objects or substances in commercial transactions, to produce medicines, to calculate tolls, tariffs, taxes, premiums, fines, remunerations, indemnities or fees of a similar kind determined by weight.

DISPOSAL

The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from householdwaste, either carry it to a separately-collectedwaste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose.
