Inserting the batteries

NOTE:

Where required, the supplied batteries have been protected for transport with plastic foil.

  1. Remove this foil before inserting the batteries into the appliance.
  2. Open the battery compartment on the back.
  3. Insert 3 batteries of type AAA/R03. Please ensure that the polarity is correct (see the loor of the battery compartment)!
  4. Close the battery compartment again.
  5. If the device is not used for a prolonged period of time, please take the batteries out in order to prevent leakage of battery acid.
  6. Should the Battery Low symbol “+ - shown in the display, change the batteries.

  • Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.
  • Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's.

Time

The time is displayed in the top left hand section of the display in 12 hour format.

To update the time, proceed as follows:

  1. Keep the TIME button pressed until the hours display flashes.
  2. Select the setting for the hours with the TARE or UNIT buttons. Confirm your entry with the TIME button.
  3. Select the setting for the minutes with the TARE or UNIT button.
  4. Save your entry with the TIME button

Temperature

The unit detects the current ambient temperature. It is displayed in the bottom left hand section of the display.

Using the Scales

The kitchen balance was developed to display the weight of food and ingredients.

Switching On

  • Place the scales on a flat, smooth surface.
  • Press the button.
  • All segments are briefly illuminated in the display followed by "0" and "0.0".

Weighing

  • Use the UNIT button to select the desired unit of measurement: "g", "lb", "oz" or "kg".
  • Wait until the symbol indicates that the scales are ready to weigh.
  • Place the goods you want to weigh at the middle centre of the scales. The ▲ symbol confirms that the measuring result is ready.

Tare Function

If you would like to add a further ingredient to the first ingredient and then weigh it:

  • Press the TARE button briefly. The symbol indicates that the unit is in Tare mode.
  • The scales are reset to "0". Wait until the symbol indicates that the scales are ready to weigh.
  • If you now place further ingredients on the scales their weight is displayed.

Switching Off

If you would like to turn the scales off, keep the button pressed down fur approximately one second.

With the automatic switch-off the scales turn off automatically after approximately 85 seconds.

Storage

Keep the appliance in a clean, dry place.

Cleaning

  • Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

  • Dry the device well after cleaning with a dry and soft cloth.
