Frequently Asked Questions - RFM-CVN1 CRUX

What is the CRUX RFM-CVN1 used for?
The CRUX RFM-CVN1 is a video interface that allows you to connect an aftermarket camera (e.g., rearview, dashcam) or video source (e.g., DVD player) to the factory radio screen of compatible Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles.
Which vehicles are compatible with the RFM-CVN1?
It is designed for select models from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM that have an OEM navigation or radio screen. Check the user manual for a detailed list of specific model years and trim levels.
Is the installation difficult?
No, the installation is plug-and-play. The interface uses factory connectors - no cutting or splicing of wires is required. Basic trim removal tools may be needed to access the radio.
Can I add multiple video inputs?
The RFM-CVN1 typically supports one additional video input (RCA composite). For multiple inputs, you may need an external switcher or a different CRUX model.
What video quality can I expect?
It supports standard NTSC/PAL composite video and can handle resolutions up to 1080i. Quality depends on the camera or source device.
Does it work with aftermarket cameras?
Yes, it works with most aftermarket cameras that output composite video (RCA). Ensure the camera is powered by 12V from the vehicle or a dedicated source.
Will it interfere with factory features?
No, the interface is designed to work alongside factory systems without affecting existing features like steering wheel controls or backup guidelines (if retaining factory camera).
What is the power requirement?
The module operates on 12V DC from the vehicle's electrical system. It draws very low current (approx. 0.4A).
Is there a warranty?
Yes, the CRUX RFM-CVN1 comes with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
Where can I find the user manual?
The user manual is available for free download on notice-facile.com in PDF format. You can also request a translated version via email.
