Frequently Asked Questions - VRFCH-75Y CRUX

How do I install the CRUX VRFCH-75Y air conditioner?
Install the unit in a double-hung window using the included mounting kit. Ensure the window is clean and the frame is secure. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the manual for proper sealing and drainage.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the air filter every two weeks during normal use. Remove the filter, wash it with mild soap and water, let it dry completely, then reinstall. A dirty filter reduces efficiency.
What does the 'Dry' mode do?
The Dry mode reduces humidity in the room without full cooling. The fan runs at low speed and the compressor cycles on/off to remove excess moisture from the air.
Does the unit come with a remote control?
Yes, the CRUX VRFCH-75Y includes a remote control that allows you to adjust temperature, fan speed, and mode from across the room. It uses two AAA batteries (not included).
What is the maximum window width for installation?
The unit fits standard double-hung windows with a minimum opening width of 23 inches and maximum of 36 inches. Adjustable side panels are included for a secure fit.
How do I troubleshoot if the air conditioner is not cooling?
Check the thermostat setting, ensure the filter is clean, and verify that the window and seals are properly closed. Also, confirm the unit is in Cool mode and the compressor is running. If the issue persists, consult the manual or contact support.
What is the energy consumption of this unit?
The CRUX VRFCH-75Y has a Cooling Amperage of 6.5A at 115V, consuming about 750 watts. It is rated with an EER of 10.2, making it moderately energy-efficient.
Can I use an extension cord with this air conditioner?
No, do not use an extension cord. Plug the unit directly into a properly grounded 115V outlet. Extension cords can overheat and cause fire or damage to the unit.
How loud is the air conditioner?
The noise level ranges from 45 dB on low speed to 52 dB on high speed, similar to a quiet conversation or moderate rainfall.
What should I do if water leaks from the unit?
During humid operation, some water may collect. Check the drain hole for clogs and ensure the unit is tilted slightly backward (about 1/4 inch) for proper drainage. If leaking persists, inspect the rubber seals.
