What is the maximum cable length for the HDMI input?

The recommended HDMI input cable length is up to 5 meters (passive) for stable 1080p signals.

Does the HBT-15 support 4K resolution?

No, the HBT-15 is designed for 1080p @ 60 Hz maximum. For 4K, consider the DataVideo HBT-30 model.

Can I use a CAT6 cable instead of CAT5e?

Yes, CAT6 is recommended for longer distances or better signal integrity. The maximum distance is 70 meters with CAT5e/6.

How do I connect the receiver unit?

The HBT-15 is a transmitter only. It works with any HDBaseT receiver (e.g., DataVideo HBR-15). Connect the transmitter's RJ45 output directly to the receiver via a single Ethernet cable.

What does the EDID bypass feature do?

The EDID bypass allows the source device to read the display's EDID directly, ensuring optimal video and audio compatibility without manual adjustments.

The LED for 'link' is not lighting up. What should I do?

Check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected and that the receiver is powered on. Try a different cable shorter than 70 meters. If the issue persists, verify the receiver is an HDBaseT compatible model.

Is the power adapter universal voltage?

The included adapter is 100-240V AC input with a 12V DC output, suitable for worldwide use. Use the appropriate AC plug adapter if needed.

Can I daisy-chain multiple HBT-15 units?

No, daisy-chaining is not supported. Each transmitter requires a direct connection to its receiver via a dedicated Ethernet cable.

How do I clean the device?

Standard Warranty

• Datavideo equipment are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects for one year from the date of purchase.
• The original purchase invoice or other documentary evidence should be supplied at the time of any request for repair under warranty.
• The product warranty period begins on the purchase date. If the purchase date is unknown, the product warranty period begins on the thirtieth day after shipment from a Datavideo office.
• All non-Datavideo manufactured products (product without Datavideo logo) have only one year warranty from the date of purchase.
• Damage caused by accident, misuse, unauthorized repairs, sand, grit or water is not covered under warranty.
• Viruses and malware infections on the computer systems are not covered under warranty.
• Any errors that are caused by unauthorized third-party software installations, which are not required by our computer systems, are not covered under warranty.
• All mail or transportation costs including insurance are at the expense of the owner.
• All other claims of any nature are not covered.
• All accessories including headphones, cables, and batteries are not covered under warranty.
• Warranty only valid in the country or region of purchase.
• Your statutory rights are not affected.

Three Year Warranty

- All Datavideo products purchased after July 1st, 2017 are qualified for a free two years extension to the standard warranty, providing the product is registered with

Datavideo within 30 days of purchase.

• Certain parts with limited lifetime expectancy such as LCD panels, DVD drives, Hard Drive, Solid State Drive, SD Card, USB Thumb Drive, Lighting, Camera module, PCIe Card are covered for 1 year.
• The three-year warranty must be registered on Datavideo's official website or with your local Datavideo office or one of its authorized distributors within 30 days of purchase.

1. Introduction

The HBT-15 and HBT-16 are respectively the HDBaseT transmitter and receiver with a maximum allowable transmission distance of 100 meters. The transmitter allows transmission of up to 4K50/59.94/60 image quality video.

With the 56V power connected to one end of the HBT-16 HDBaseT receiver, the HBT-16 will thus be able to power the transmitter by Power over Ethernet (PoE). On the transmitter end (HBT-15), there is also a 12V/30W DC output serving to supply power to backend devices.

HDBaseT connection between the transmitter and the receiver can be established using a single Ethernet cable. In other words, HDMI video, DVIP control commands and power (PoE) can be transmitted between the transmitter and the receiver using just one Ethernet cable (CAT.6A).

RS-232/RS-422 Interface

The RS-232/RS-422 port connects HBT-15 directly to Datavideo's cameras such as PTC-150. Use the RS-232 or RS-422 custom cable to connect. See RS-232/RS-422 pinout for more information about the respective cabling.

Use the DIP switch to select between RS-232 (00) and RS-422 (01).

4. RS-232/RS-422 Pinout

The Datavideo's PTZ Camera can be connected to the HBT-15 Transmitter box through the RS-232 or RS-422 interface using a custom Ethernet cable. The respective connection wiring schemes are shown below.
