IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using this electrical appliance, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be observed including the following.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE AND INJURY

WARNING
- This appliance can be used by children from aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Use this appliance for its intended use only.

When discarding an old battery, do not throw into a fire or where heat could cause it to rupture or explode. Also, do not attempt to recharge alkaline heavy duty or regular batteries in battery charging devices.
BEFORE USE
The batteries are already installed into the battery compartment (A) on the bottom of the unit. Open the battery compartment and remove the insulating strip, the scales are now ready for use. Place the unit on a dry, flat, level surface and ensure the unit is stable.

WEIGHING OPERATION
- Press On/Off button (C) to turn the unit on.
- LCD will come on showing all segments lit up, then return to the weighing mode that was previously used.
- Press Mode button (B) to set to gram, oz.
- Ensure the unit is stable and showing zero weight before weighing, and that the platform is dry.
- When using a weighing bowl position the bowl centrally before turning on.
- Always try to place the ingredient you are weighing in the centre of the platform or bowl.
- Wait until the LCD has stabilised, the LCD will then indicate the proper weight value of the ingredient you are weighing.
VOLUME OPERATION
- Press On/Off button (C) to turn the unit on.

- Press Mode button (B) to set to ml, fl'oz.
- Ensure the unit is stable and showing zero weight before weighing, and that the platform is dry.

TARE FUNCTION
You can do consecutive weighing without removing the weighing mass already placed on the platform. Each time before adding an additional ingredient, simply press the Zero button (C) once, it will then conduct a tare function and return the LCD to zero, then add a new ingredient and the LCD will weigh and indicate only the net weight of the added ingredient.
While the tare function is activated the LCD will show an icon T in the top left corner. On Tare mode when you press the Zero button the total weight will be shown, press the zero button again to return the LCD to zero and carry on weighing.

Please note:
The Tare function will activate only when the initial weight exceeds 200g.
When you have completed weighing, simply press and hold the on/off button (C) to turn off the unit, if the unit is left idle it will automatically shut down after 2 minutes.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- The unit is a high precision device and is extremely sensitive. Avoid dropping the unit or dropping heavy objects on to the unit.
- Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the appliance a mild detergent can be used if necessary, do not use strong chemicals, alcohol or benzene for cleaning.
- Keep unit away from high temperatures.
- Keep unit away from high electronic magnetic fields such as cordless phone, computer transformer etc, as this will interfere with the function and accuracy.
- Always use the scale on a hard flat surface.
- If the unit fails to work check the batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient power.
BATTERY INFORMATION
This product is powered by 2 x AAA Alkaline batteries. When the battery is spent replace with a like for like battery.
Do not attempt to recharge alkaline or regular batteries in battery charging devices.
BATTERY DISPOSAL
Battery Removal and Disposal
Do not dispose of this product or the battery in the normal household waste.
At the end of your products life the battery must be removed and recycled/disposed of correctly and not disposed of with the product.
Batteries should be disposed of at an official collection point in an environmentally safe way or taken to a local collection facility where they will be dealt with safely and sent for the appropriate recycling.

WARNING: NEVER THROW BATTERIES INTO A FIRE OR WHERE HEAT COULD CAUSE THEM TO RUPTURE OR EXPLODE.
WASTE ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC (WEEE)

At the end of this products life it should not be disposed of with general household waste.
Care should be taken to dispose of in a suitable manner in accordance with your Local Authority regulation.

GUARANTEE
This product is guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of original purchase or receipt as a gift.
Should this product become defective during the guarantee period, return it to the store of purchase together with your proof of purchase for repair or replacement
Alternatively within the guarantee period you can return the product to Wahl (UK) Ltd who will repair any such defect or elect to replace the product or any part of it, without charge, provided that there is proof of purchase. Should a replacement be offered this will not extend the original guarantee period.
The guarantee becomes invalid in the case of misuse, alteration or repair by unauthorised persons.
This product is designed for domestic use only and use within a professional environment will invalidate the guarantee.
This guarantee in no way affects your rights under statutory law in the United Kingdom.
