Frequently Asked Questions - TL-ANT5823B TP-LINK

What frequency does the TL-ANT5823B support?
The TL-ANT5823B supports the 5 GHz band, specifically 5150-5850 MHz. It is not compatible with 2.4 GHz Access Points.
What is the gain of this antenna?
The antenna has a gain of 23 dBi, providing high directional signal strength for long-range outdoor links.
How do I mount the TL-ANT5823B?
Mount the antenna on a mast (30-50 mm diameter) using the included L-brackets. Ensure the antenna is oriented for the desired polarization (vertical or horizontal). Secure all screws and seal the connector with weatherproofing tape.
What is the beamwidth of this antenna?
Both horizontal and vertical beamwidths are 12 degrees, making it a very narrow-beam directional antenna suitable for point-to-point links.
Can I use this antenna indoors?
The TL-ANT5823B is designed for outdoor use. It is weather-resistant and intended for mounting on towers, roofs, or masts. Indoor use is possible but not recommended due to its size and directional nature.
What type of cable connector does it use?
The antenna has an N Female connector. Use high-quality, low-loss RF cables with N Male connectors for optimal performance.
Is the antenna weatherproof?
Yes, the radome is made of ABS material and the antenna can withstand wind speeds up to 241 km/h. It is suitable for harsh outdoor environments.
How do I align the antenna for best signal?
During installation, rotate the antenna (azimuth and pitch) while monitoring signal strength with your equipment. Once the strongest signal is found, tighten all screws and seal the connector.
What is the maximum input power?
The antenna can handle up to 100 Watts of input power. Ensure your Access Point does not exceed this limit.
Where can I find technical support?

IV. Installation

Please find the necessary accessories in the attachment, and take the following steps to install your antenna TL-ANT5823B.

Mounting Diagram Pipe mast (supplied by customer, less than Ø50mm) "L" type brackets Lock claw (Use one pcs when turning angle) Mounting bolt M6x20 Antenna

  1. Mount the antenna on the “L” type brackets according to the mounting diagram.

Make sure the antenna polarization is parallel to the direction you need. When the antenna polarization is vertical to the ground, the antenna is vertically polarized. When the antenna polarization is horizontal to the ground, the antenna is horizontally polarized.

  1. Mount the antenna on the pipe mast according to the mounting diagram.

  2. Test the antenna with equipment to make sure the antenna receive the best signal by turning the azimuth and pitching angle, then lock all the screws and seal the connector between antenna and cable.

N Female type

  1. Connect TL-ANT5823B to 5GHz AP (Access Point) interface with cables. It's recommended to use radio frequency cables with high quality and low loss. Besides, the shorter the cable is, the better it will be to avoid unnecessary loss.

Warning:

  • Mount the antenna at a safe location, far away from power lines, lamps, and other cables.
  • Do not mount the antenna in the rain or thunder storm.
  • Do not mount the antenna alone.
