NAVIGATION SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL
Introduction
ThismanualexplainstheoperationoftheNavigationSystem. Pleasereadthismanualcarefullytoensureproperuse.Keepthis manualinyourvehicleatalltimes.
TheNavigationSystemisoneofthemosttechnologicallyadvanced vehicleaccessorieseverdeveloped. ThesystemreceivessatellitesignalsfromtheGlobalPositioningSystem(GPS)operatedbytheU.S. DepartmentofDefense. Usingthesesignalsandothervehiclesensors,thesystemindicatesyourpresentpositionandassistsinlocating adesireddestination.
Thenavigationsystemisdesignedtoselectefficientroutesfromyour presentstartinglocationtoyourdestination. Thesystemisalsodesigned todirectyoutoadestinationthatisunfamiliartoyouinanefficientmanner. ThesystemusesDENSOmaps. Thecalculatedroutesmaynotbethe shortestnortheleasttrafficcongested. Yourownpersonalallocalknowledgeor“shortcut”mayattimesbefasterthanthecalculatedroutes.
Thenavigationsystem'sdatabaseincludesPointofInterestcategoriesto allowyoutoeasilyselectdestinationssuchasrestaurantsandhotels.If adestinationisnotinthedatabase,youcanenterthestreetaddressor amajorintersectionclosetoitandthesystemwillguideyouthere.
Thesystemwillprovidebothavisualmapandaudioinstructions.Theaudioinstructionswillannouncethedistanceremainingandthedirectionto turninapproachinganintersection.Thesevoiceinstructionswillhelpyou keepyoureyesontheroadandaretimedtoprovideenoughtimetoallow youtomaneuver,changelanesorslowdown.
Pleasebeawarethatallcurrentvehiclenavigationsystemshave certainlimitationsthatmayaffecttheirabilitytoperformproperly. Theaccuracyofthevehicle'spositiondependsonthesatellitecondition,roadconfiguration,vehicleconditionorothercircumstances.Formoreinformationonthelimitationsofthesystem,referto pages426through427.

Thismanuale explains both hybrid and conventional gasoline vehicle information. Gasoline vehicle information is shown in triangular brackets, forexample, "POWER" < "ENGINESTARTSTOP"> switch.

This system is intended to assist in reaching the destination and, if used properly, candoso. The driver is solely responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle and the safety of your passengers.
Donotuseanyfeatureofthissystemtothe extentitbecomesadistractionandpreventssafedriving. Thefirstprioritywhile drivingsshouldalwaysbethesafeoperationofthevehicle. Whiledriving, besure toobservealltrafficregulations.
Prior to the actual use of this system, learn how to use it and become them thoroughly familiar with it. Read the entire Navigation System Owner's Manual Tomakes you understand the system. Donot allow other people to set this system until they have read and understood the instructions in this manual.
Foryoursafety, somefunctionsmaybeinoperablewhendriving. Unavailablescreenbuttonsaredimmed. Only whenthevehicleisnotmoving, canthe destinationandrouteselectionbedone.

CAUTION
●Forsafety, the drivers should not operate then navigation system while he/she is driving. Insufficient attention to other road and traffic may cause an accident.
- Whiledriving, besuretoobeythe trafficregulationsandmaintain awarenessoftheroadconditions. Ifatrafficsignontheroadhas beenchanged, routeguidance maynothavetheupdated informationsuchasthedirection ofaonewaystreet.
While driving, listentothevoiceinstructionsasmuchaspossibleandglanceatthescreenbrieflyandonlywhenitissafe. However, donottotallyrelyonvoiceguidance. Useitjustforreference. If the system cannot determinethecurrentvehicle position correctly, thereisapossibility of incorrect, late, or non-voiceguidance.
Thedatainthesystemmayoccasionally be incomplete. Road conditions, including driving restrictions (no left turns, street closures, etc.) frequently change. Therefore, before following any instruction from the system, look to see whether the instruction can bedonesafelyandlegally.
This system cannot warn about such things as the safety of an area, condition of streets, and availability of emergency services. If unsure about the safety of an area, donot drive into it. Under circumstances is this system substitute for the driver's personal judgement.
Usethissystemonlyinlocationswhereit islegaltodoso.Somestates/provinces may have laws prohibiting the use of video and navigationscreensnexttothedriver.
