1-1 Introducon

Thank you for purchasing the Edimax 3G-6218n 150Mbps Wireless 3G Portable Router! This 3G router is the ideal choice for anyone who is constantly on the go. With the Edimax 3G-6218n 150Mbps Wireless 3G Portable Router, all your computers and network devices can share a single, high-speed xDSL/cable or 3G/3.5G Internet conncon. Its easy installaon procedure also allows any computer user to set up a network environment in a maer of minutes.

With built-in IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless network capability, all your computers and wireless-enabled network devices (PDAs, cell phones, game consoles, etc.) can be connected to this router without additional cabling. Its IEEE 802.11n capability also allows you to enjoy the fastest wireless experience ever! With a compatible wireless card installed, your PC can transfer les at up to 150Mbps!

1-2 Safety Informaon

Please follow the following safety instrucons to ensure your safety:

● This router is designed for indoor use only. DO NOT place this router outdoors.
- DO NOT put this router in or near hot or humid places like the kitchen, bathroom, or a car parked in the sun.
- Disconnect any connected cables from the router before pulling the router with force.
- If you want to hang this router on the wall or place it somewhere high, please make sure it is rmly secured. Edimax's warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse.
- Please keep this router and its accessories out of the reach of children.
● DO NOT put this router on paper, cloth, or other ammable materials.
- DO NOT disassemble this router. Disassembling this router will invalidate the warranty. Please contact your dealer if you experience any problems.
- If this router gets wet or falls into water when it is powered, DO NOT touch it with your bare hands. Disconnect the power plug from the wall socket immediately, or contact an experienced technician for help.
- Should your router or power supply overheat and burn out, switch the electrical power o or disconnect the power plug from the wall socket immediately, and call your dealer for help.

LAN/WAN WPS ON/OFF DC In RJ-45

Item Name	Descripon
LAN/WAN switch	Switches the RJ-45 port to LAN or WAN mode. Switch to WAN mode if you want to access the Internet through your xDSL or cable modem. This cable conncon can also act as a backup for your 3G conncon.
WPS/Reset buon	Iniates WPS or resets the router to factory defaults (clears all sengs). Press this buon and hold for over 10 seconds to restore all sengs to factory defaults, or press this buon for less than 5 seconds to start WPS.
ON/OFF switch	Switches the router on and o.
DC in	Mini-USB port for the supplied power adapter. If you have a mini-USB to USB cable, you can also power this 3G router via a computer.Note: You can power this router via a computer when using a 3G modem card; but if you get a weak 3G signal while doing so, please power the router via a power outlet.

CHAPTER II: SYSTEM AND NETWORK SETUP

2-1 Geng Started

Before you start using this 3G router, please follow the following instrucons to install and charge the baery.

1. Remove the baery cover, insert the supplied baery into the slot, and then replace the baery cover.

1. Charge the baery by connecng the power adapter to the mini-USB port and then to the wall socket. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the baery. Please charge the baery for 8 hours on the rst charge.

Note: You can power the router via a wall socket without the baery installed; but powering the router via a computer without the baery installed might cause decreased performance.

1. The "CHG" LED will go on when the baery is charging. When the baery is fully charged, the "CHG" LED will go o.

1. Turn on the router by switching the "ON/OFF" switch to the "ON" posion.

Note: Always switch the device o before removing the baery. For your safety, only use the baery and power adapter supplied with the product.

1. Connect your 3G/3.5G USB modem to the USB port on the router.

1. Connect the router to your computer via an Ethernet cable.

Note: It is recommended that you congregate the router through the Ethernet port for the rst me.

1. Please check all the LEDs. The "PWR/CHR" LED should be on, and the "ETHERNET" LED should be on if a computer/network device is connected and correctly powered. If the "PWR/CHR" LED is sll o and you are sure that the baery and all cable connecons are correct, please contact your dealer for assistance.

Method 1: Seng up the router with the CD wizard

Please follow the following instrucons to set up the 3G router with the CD wizard:

With the setup wizard in the CD-ROM, you can easily set up a 3G/3.5G conncon, an Ethernet conncon, SSID, wireless security, or upgrade the router's rmware. Aer starng the setup wizard, please choose the language of your choice.

For more instrucons, please refer to the user manual in the supplied CD-ROM.

Note 1: 3G/3.5G connecons and xDSL/cable connecons cannot be used at the same me.

Note 2: If you experience compatibility problems with certain 3G USB modem cards, please upgrade the rmware. The latest rmware can be found on the EDIMAX website (www.edimax.com).

Method 2: Seng up the router with the web-based UI

If you lose the CD-ROM, you can setup the router with the following steps (web-based user interface).

2-2 Seng client computers to obtain IP addresses automacally

Before you start conguraon procedures, your computer must be able to get an IP address automacally (set to use dynamic IP addresses). If your computer is set to use a stac IP address, or if you are unsure, please follow the following instrucons to congure your computer to use dynamic IP addresses:

2-2-1 Windows 95/98/Me IP address setup

1. Click the "Start" buon (it should be located at the lower-le corner of your screen), then click "Control Panel". Double-click the "Network" icon, and the "Network" window will appear. Select "TCP/IP", and then click "Properes".

2-3 Connecng to broadband router via web browser

You can access the broadband router's web-based conguraon interface via any connected computer with a web browser (Internet Explorer 5.x or above, Firefox, Opera, or Safari).

1. Please input "192.168.2.1" in the web browser's address bar and press "Enter".

NOTE: If you cannot access the broadband router's web-based conguraon interface, the IP address you have input may be incorrect. If you have previously changed the router's IP address, please input the one you have designated.

1. Please input "admin" in the "User name" eld and "1234" in the "Password" eld. Click the "OK" buon to enter the web conguraon interface.

2. The rst page you see aer logging in is "Home". You can see all the current sengs and other system informaon here.

NOTE: If there is no IP address following “Default Gateway”, or if the address following “IP Address” begins with “169”, please try the following procedures:

● Recheck the cable conneccon between the computer and the router.
- Go to the beginning of this chapter and recheck every step of the setup procedure.
- If both of the above fails, reset the broadband router.

2-4 Using "Quick Setup"

This broadband router's "Quick Setup" allows you to set up basic parameters in a few simple steps. The following instrucons illustrate how to use the "Quick Setup" menu:

Set Time Zone	Please select the me zone of your country or region. If you cannot nd your country/region, please select another country/region whose me zone is the same as yours.
Time Server Address	This router supports NTP (Network Time Protocol) for automac me and date setup. Input the host name or IP address of the NTP server here. If you do not know the host name, please ask the network administrator or use “pool.ntp.org”.
Daylight Saving	If your country/region uses daylight saving me, please check the “Enable Funcon” box, and select the start and end date.

Note 1: The 3G-6218n supports most 3G/3.5G modem cards. You can simply connect the modem card to the 3G-6218n and the router will recognize the modem card automacally. No additional setup procedures are required. However, some modem cards require a PIN code or account/password. In such cases, you have to use 3G-6218n's web interface to setup the conncon. Some other modem cards require you to install a driver on your computer before connecng it to the 3G-6218n. Please refer to the 3G USB modem's manual for details. If you experience compatibility problems with certain 3G USB modem cards, please upgrade the rmware. The latest rmware can be found on the EDIMAX website (www.edimax.com).

Note 2: A 3G/3.5G conncon and an xDSL/cable conncon cannot be used at the same me. When both types are connected to the router, the 3G-6218n will prioritize the 3G/3.5G conncon and will only switch to the xDSL/cable conncon when the 3G/3.5G signal is weak.

2-4-2 Using "Dynamic IP" as broadband conncon type

1. If your Internet service provider assigns IP addresses to you automatically through DHCP (Dynamic Host Conguraon Protocol), select "Dynamic IP".

3-1-1 Time Zone

You can change the time zone settings of this broadband router. It's important to have correct date and me seng if you need to read system log and use build-in rewall funcons.

Daylight Savings	If the country / region of your residence use daylight saving time, please check ‘Enable Function’ box, and select the beginning and ending date of daylight me saving.

3-1-2 Password Sengs

You can change the web login password of this broadband router. If you keep using the default password '1234', other people may access the conguraon interface without your permission. Please change the password as soon as possible.

If it's not required for you to manage this broadband router from Internet, you can disable this funcon to improve security.

Some ISP will give you a xed IP address, and ask you to use this IP address to establish Internet conncon. In this case, you have to select this conncon type to establish conncon with your ISP.

Please note that if your ISP is assigning a xed IP address to you by DHCP or PPPoE, do not select this conncon type. Please contact your ISP's service hotline to make sure you really need to use stac IP as conncon type.

Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0

DNS address : 168.95.1.1

If your ISP requires you to use PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) to establish conncon, you can select this conncon type to establish Internet conncon.

PPTP requires two kinds of seng: WAN interface seng (setup IP address) and PPTP seng (PPTP user name and password). Here we start from WAN interface seng rst:

Select the type of how you obtain IP address from your service provider here. You can choose ‘Obtain an IP address automacally’ (equal to DHCP, please refer to ‘Cable Modem’ secon above), or ‘Use the following IP address’ (i.e. stac IP address).

WAN interface sengs must be correctly set, or the Internet conncon will fail even those sengs of PPTP sengs are correct. Please contact your Internet service provider if you don't know what you should ll in these elds.

3-2-6 L2TP

If your ISP requires you to use L2TP (Layer-2 Tunneling Protocol) to establish conncon, you can select this conncon type to establish Internet conncon. L2TP is another popular conncon method for xDSL and other Internet conncon types, and all required seng items are the same with PPTP conncon.

Like PPTP, there are two kinds of required seng, we'll start from 'WAN Interface Sengs':

L2TP Obtain an IP address automatically : Host Name : MAC address : 000000000000 Clone Mac address Use the following IP address : IP address : 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0 Default Gateway : 0.0.0.0

Please select the type of how you obtain IP address from your service provider here. You can choose 'Obtain an IP address automacally' (equal to DHCP, please refer to 'Dynamic IP' secon above), or 'Use the following IP address' (equal to stac IP address, please refer to 'PPPoE' secon above).

WAN interface sengs must be correctly set, or the Internet conncon will fail even those sengs of L2TP sengs are correct. Please contact your Internet service provider if you don't know what you should ll in these elds.

3-2-7 WISP

WISP (Wireless ISP) is a conncon method which establishes Internet conncon by wireless network. In this mode, this router will act as a wireless client and connect to another wireless access point to establish Internet conncon.

WISP Basic Settings : WISP : Disable Enable ESSID : Channel Number : 1 Site Survey : Select Site Survey Security Settings : Encryption : Disable

3-3 LAN (Wired)

You can setup Wired LAN (Local Area Network) connecons of this broadband router in 'LAN' menu. This broadband router has 4 LAN ports and they'll all use the same LAN IP address sengs. Please also note that both wired and wireless LAN uses the same LAN IP address sengs, too.

LAN sengs split into 3 seconds: LAN IP, DHCP Server, and Stac DHCP leases. Please refer to corresponding seconds below for detailed setup instrucons.

3-3-1 Before you start: Suggesons for deciding an IP address

Before all computers using wired Ethernet conncon (i.e. those computers connect to this router's LAN port 1 to 4 by Ethernet cable) or wireless conncon can communicate with each other and access internet, they must have a valid IP address.

There are two ways to assign IP addresses to computers: stac IP address (set the IP address for every computer manually), and dynamic IP address (IP address of computers will be assigned by router automacally. It's recommended for most of computers to use dynamic IP address, it will save a lot of me on seng IP addresses for every computer, especially when there are a lot of computers in your network; for servers and network devices which will provide services to other computer and users that come from Internet, stac IP address should be used, so other computes can locate the server.

This broadband router has a built-in DHCP (Dynamic Host Conguraon Protocol) server, and can help you to assign IP addresses to your client computers. Almost all network computers / devices manufactured aer year 1995 are compatible with DHCP, and you can let this broadband router to assign the IP address to client computers / devices for you.

Suggestions on IP address numbering plan:

If you have no idea on how to define an IP address plan for your network, here are some suggestions.

1. A valid IP address has 4 fields: a.b.c.d, for most of home and company users, it's suggested to use 192.168.c.d, where c is an integer between 0 and 254, and d is an integer between 1 and 254. This router is capable to work with up to 253 clients, so you can set 'd' field of IP address of router as 1 or 254 (or any number between 1 and 254), and pick a number between 0 and 254 for field 'c'.
2. In most cases, you should use '255.255.255.0' as subnet mask, which allows up to 253 clients (this also meets router's capability of working with up to 253 clients).
3. For all servers and network devices which will provide services to other people (like Internet service, print service, and file service), they should use static IP address. Give each of them a unique number between 1 and 253, and maintain a list, so everyone can locate those servers easily.
4. For computers which are not dedicated to provide specific service to others, they should use dynamic IP address.

If you don't really understand the descriptions listed above, don't worry! We will provide recommended setup values below.

3-3-2 LAN IP

You can use this seng to assign an IP address to the LAN interface of this broadband router.

You can select ‘Forever’ if you’re using this broadband router with only few computers (less than 30 computers)

3-3-3 DHCP Server

You can use this seng to decide the range of IP address leases.

NOTE:

1. The number of the last field (mentioned 'd' field) of 'End IP' must be greater than 'Start IP', and can not the same with router's IP address.
2. The former three fields of IP address of 'Start IP', 'End IP', and 'IP Address of 'LAN IP' section (mentioned 'a', 'b', and 'c' field) should be the same.
3. These settings will affect wireless clients, too.

3-3-4 Stac DHCP Leases

If you wish to assign a xed IP address to certain computers / devices by DHCP, you can use this funcon to establish a MAC-to-IP address table here, so you can assign a speciC IP address to a speciC computer / network device by its MAC address.

e. AP Bridge-WDS: Connect this router with up to four WDS-capable broadband routers, to expand the scope of network.

f. Universal Repeater: This broadband router will repeat other wireless access point's signal to extend its wireless signal coverage, and also acts as a wireless access point to serve other wireless clients.

Default SSID is 'Edimax', it's recommended to change default ESSID value to the one which is meaningful to you, like myhome, oce_room1, etc.
Channel Number	Please select a channel from the dropdown list of 'Channel Number', available channel numbers are 1 to 13. You can choose any channel number you want to use, and almost all wireless clients can locate the channel you're using automacally without any problem. However, it's sll useful to remember the channel number you use, some wireless client supports manual channel number select, and this would help in certain scenario when there is some radio communicaon problem.
Associated Clients	Click 'Show Acve Clients' buon to show the list of all connected wireless clients. You can click 'Refresh' in new window to get latest list again, or click 'Close' to close the window.Please note that if you have pop-up blocker installed, you may have to disable it or tell your pop-up blocker to allow the popup window, or you will not be able to see the wireless client list window.

TIPS: You can try to change channel number to another one if you think the data transfer rate is too slow, or keep having problem while transferring the file over wireless network. There could be some other broadband routers using the same channel, which will disturb the radio communication between wireless client and the broadband router.

WLAN MAC	Some wireless access points will only allow clients with certain MAC address to establish conncon. In this case, you can input the MAC address that will be accepted by the wireless access point you wish to connect here. You can also click 'Clone MAC' buon to use the MAC address of your computer (the one you used to connect to the web management interface currently).
Auto MAC Clone	If you wish to use the MAC address of wired LAN interface of this broadband router, select 'Enable', or select 'Disable' to not to use the MAC address of the wired LAN interface of this broadband router.

Also, you can connect to the wireless access point with the same funconality only. If you wish to connect to the wireless access points made by other manufacturer, please select 'AP Bridge-WDS' mode if the wireless access point you wish to connect supports WDS.

Default SSID is 'Edimax', it's recommended to change default ESSID value to the one which is meaningful to you, like myhome, oce_room1, etc.
Channel Number	Select the channel number you wish to use; all access points must use the same channel.
Associated Clients	Click 'Show Acve Clients' buon to show the list of all connected wireless clients. You can click 'Refresh' in new window to get latest list again, or click 'Close' to close the window.Please note that if you have pop-up blocker installed, you may have to disable it or tell your pop-up blocker to allow the popup window, or you will not be able to see the wireless client list window.
MAC address 1 to 4	Input the MAC address of other wireless access points (the access points you wish to connect).
Set Security	Click 'Set Security' buon to set security funcons of this wireless conncon to improve security. Please refer to chapter 3-2-1-7 for detailed instrucons.

In this mode, this broadband router acts as a wireless repeater. It will repeat the signal of the wireless access point you specied, to extend its wireless coverage. The broadband router will sll accept wireless clients when in this mode.

3-4-2 Security Sengs

In certain AP working modes, you can enable encrypon to improve security level.

Key Length	There are two types of WEP key length: 64-bit and 128-bit. Using '128-bit' is safer than '64-bit', but will reduce some data transfer performance.
Key Format	There are two types of key format: ASCII and Hex. When you select a key format, the number of characters of key will be displayed. For example, if you select '64-bit' as key length, and 'Hex' as key format, you'll see the message at the right of 'Key Format' is 'Hex (10 characters), which means the length of WEP key is 10 characters.
Default Tx Key	You can set up to four sets of WEP key, and you can decide which key is being used by default here. If you don't know which one you should use, select 'Key 1'.
Encrypon Key	Input WEP key characters here, the number of characters must be the same as the number displayed at 'Key Format' eld. You can use any alphanumerical characters (0-9, a-z, and A-Z) if you select 'ASCII' key format, and if you select 'Hex' as key format, you can use characters 0-9, a-f, and A-F.
Enable 802.1x Authencaon	Check this box to enable 802.1x authencaon funcon. You need a Radius authencaon server to perform 802.1x authencaon.
Server IP address	Input Radius authencaon server’s IP address here.
RADIUS Server Port	Input Radius authencaon server’s service port here. Generally it’s 1812.
RADIUS Server Password	Input the password of Radius server here.

WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) is also an encrypon method and is safer than WEP. It's recommended to use WPA instead of WEP when you need to use encrypon to protect your data security.

3-4-3 MAC Address Filtering

This funcon will help you to prevent unauthorized users from connecng to your wireless router; only those wireless devices who have the MAC address you assigned here can gain access to your wireless router. You can use this funcon with other security measures described in previous secon, to create a safer wireless environment. Up to 20 MAC addresses can be assigned.

WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) provides a convenient way to establish the conncon between this broadband router and wireless clients. Any WPS-compatible wireless clients can establish secure conncon with this broadband router with simple push-buon type conguraon or PinCode type conguraon.

3-5-1 QoS

Quality of service provides an ecient way for computers on the network to share the internet bandwidth with a promised quality of internet service. Without QoS, all computers and devices on the network will compete with each other to get internet bandwidth, and some applicaons which require guaranteed bandwidth (like video streaming and network telephone) will be acted, therefore an unpleasing result will occur, like the interrupon of video / audio transfer.

With this funcon, you can limit the maximum bandwidth or give a guaranteed bandwidth for a specific computer, to avoid said unpleasing result from happening.

Local Port Range	Set the port range that will acvate this QoS rule. If only one port is involved, input a single number here (1 to 65535); if mulple ports are involved, input starng / ending port number in x-y format (like 10-20).
Remote IP Address	Set remote IP addresses that will trigger this QoS rule. If only one IP address is involved, input the IP address in le eld only.
Remote Port Range	Set the port range that will acvate this QoSrule. If only one port is involved, input a single number here (1 to 65535); if mulple ports are involved, input starng / ending port number in x-y format (like 10-20).
Trac Type	If you're creang a QoS rule for a speci type of trac, you can select it from this menu and you don't have to input port range above.
Protocol	Select the protocol type here (TCP or UDP).
Add	Click 'add' buon to add a new QoS rule (detailed instrucons will be given below).
Reset	If you want to erase all values you just entered. Click 'Reset'
Edit	If you want to modify the content of a speci rule, please check the 'select' box of the rule you want to edit, then click 'Edit' buon. Only one rule should be selected a me!
Delete Selected	You can delete selected rules by clicking this buon. You can select one or more rules to delete by check the 'select' the box of the rule(s) you want to delete a me. If the QoS table is empty, this buon will be grayed out and cannot be clicked.
Delete All	By clicking this buon, you can delete all rules currently listed in the QoS table. If the QoS table is empty, this buon will be grayed out and cannot be clicked.
Move Up	Move selected rule up. First QoS rule will be proceed rst, so you can move higher priority rules up.
Move Down	Move selected rule down.

DDNS (Dynamic DNS) is a IP-to-Hostname mapping service for those Internet users who don't have a stac (xed) IP address. It will be a problem when such user wants to provide services to other users on Internet, because their IP address will vary every me when connected to Internet, and other user will not be able to know the IP address they're using at a certain me.

This router supports DDNS service of following service providers:

3-5-3 Port Forwarding

This funcon allows you to redirect a single port or consecuve ports of Internet IP address to the same port of the IP address on local network. The port number(s) of Internet IP address and private IP address (the IP address on local network) must be the same.

If the port number of Internet IP address and private IP address is dierent, please use 'Virtual Server' funcon.

Port Range	Input the starng port number in the le eld, and input the ending port number in the right eld. If you only want to redirect a single port number, just ll the port number in the le eld.
Comment	Please input any text to describe this mapping, up to 16 alphanumerical characters.
Add	Add the mapping to port forwarding table.
Reset	Remove all inpued values.

3-5-4 DMZ

Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a special area in your local network. This area resides in local network, and all computers in this area uses private IP address, too. But these private IP addresses are mapped to a certain Internet IP address, so other people on Internet can fully access those computers in DMZ.

3-5-5 Fail Over

WAN failure detecon works by detectng the presence of trac on the 3G modem link. If the link is idle for too long, the router will aempt to ping a target IP address. If the ping does not reply, the router assumes the link is down and aempts to fail over to the Ethernet WAN link.

3-5-6 3G Limit Control

The “3G Limit Control” funcon allows you to set a limit to the amount of 3G data you use. When the “3G Limit Control” funcon is enabled and the amount of 3G data transmission exceeds the limit you have set, the router will stop accessing the Internet via the 3G USB modem.

The “3G Limit Control” funcon measures the amount of 3G data transmission in months. For example, if you select “19”, the “Cumulave 3G Data” value will reset on the 19 ^th of every month. The “Cumulave 3G Data” value will also reset if you power o the device or if the network has been disconnected.

3-6 NAT

Network address translaons solve the problem if sharing a single IP address to mulple computers. Without NAT, all computers must be assigned with a valid Internet IP address to get connected to Internet, but Internet service providers only provide very few IP addresses to every user. Therefore it's necessary to use NAT technology to share a single Internet IP address to mulple computers on local network, so everyone can get connected to Internet.

This broadband router supports four types of NAT funcons, and the instrucons of these funcons will be given below.

3-6-1 Virtual Server

This funcon allows you to redirect a port on Internet IP address (on WAN port) to a specied port of an IP address on local network, so you can setup an Internet service on the computer on local network, without exposing it on Internet directly. You can also build many sets of port redirecon, to provide many dierent Internet services on dierent local computers via a single Internet IP address.

In most cases, all your computers on local network will use default gateway (generally provided by your ISP) to access servers on Internet. By using access control, you can restrict your computers from accessing improper website, or using disallowed applicaons. You can even only allow computers with certain MAC address to access the network, or deny the computers in the list from accessing Internet.

3-7-3 DoS

Denial of Service (DoS) is a common ack measure, by transming a great amount of data or request to your Internet IP address and server, the Internet conncon will become very slow, and server may stop responding because it is not capable to handle too much tracs.

This router has a built-in DoS aack prevenon mechanism; when you acvate it, the router will stop the DoS aack for you:

Ping of Death	Ping of Death is a special packet, and it will cause certain computer to stop responding. Check this box and the router will liter this kind of packet out.
Discard Ping From WAN	Ping is a common and useful tool to know the conneccon status of a specied remote network device, but some malicious intruder will try to ll your network bandwidth with a lot of PING request data packet, to make your internet conneccon become very slow, even unusable. Check this box and the router will ignore all inbound PING request, but when you acvate this funcon, you will not be able to ping your own router from internet, too.
Port Scan	Some malicious intruder will try to use a ‘port scanner’ to know how many ports of your Internet IP address are open, and they can collect a lot of valuable informaon by doingso. Check this box and the router will block all tracs which are trying to scan your Internet IP address.
Sync Flood	This is another kind of aack, which uses a lot of fake conncon request to consume the memory of your server, and try to make your server become unusable. Check this box and the router will liter this kind of trac out.

4-2 Tools

This broadband router comes with several tools that will help you to manage the conguraon of broadband router, upgrade the rmware, and restart the broadband router.

To use these tools, follow the following instrucons:

1. Click 'Tools' tab.

Configuration Tools Backup Settings : Save...... Restore Settings : 浏览... Upload Restore to Factory Default : Reset Firmware Upgrade Restart

Please select the tool you wish to use, then click 'Apply' buon. If you wish to go back to previous page, click 'Previous' buon.

4-2-1 Conguraon Tools

In this page, you can backup and restore current system conguraon, and reset all sengs to factory default value.

Configuration Tools Backup Settings: Save...... Restore Settings: 浏览... Upload Restore to Factory Default: Reset

Here are descripons of every setup items:

Item Name	Descripon
Backup Sengs	Click ‘Save...’ buon to download the current conguraon as ‘cong.bin’ le. Save this le on your computer to keep current conguraon. If you want to keep more than one version of conguraon le, please rename the conguraon le to another name.
Restore Sengs	Click ‘Browse...’ buon to select a previously-saved conguraon le from your computer, then click ‘Upload’ to upload the conguraon le to broadband router, and the conguraon of broadband router will be replaced by the content of uploaded conguraon le.
Restore to Factory Default	Click ‘Reset’ buon to restore the sengs of the broadband router to factory default value. A pop-up message window will appear and ask you to conrm the reset.

4-2-2 Firmware Upgrade

New rmware releases will provide new funcons to this broadband router, and you can use rmware upgrade funcon to upgrade the rmware to new version.

NOTE: It's recommended to use wired Ethernet connection to upload the firmware file, please refrain from using wireless connection to upload the firmware file. Also, please do not switch the broadband router or computer you used to upload the firmware file off during firmware upgrade. This will cause broadband router become malfunction and unusable.

Please download the rmware le from our company's website and save it on your computer, and use rmware upgrade funcon to upgrade rmware:

Browse... Apply Cancel

Please click ‘Browse...’ buon to select the rmware le saved on your computer, then click ‘Apply’ buon to start rmware upload. The broadband router will restart aer le upload is successful, and all sengs will be lost. Please use default IP address (192.168.2.1) to connect to the broadband router and set every sengs again.

4-2-3 Restart

If you found that the broadband router is not funconing correctly, or responding slowly then usual, you can use this funcon to restart the broadband router, and this may correct the problem.

Restart

In the event that the system stops responding correctly or stops functioning, you can perform a Reset. Your settings will not be changed. To perform the reset, click on the APPLY button below. You will be asked to confirm your decision. Reset will be completed when the Power LED light stops blinking.

Apply

Click 'Apply' buon to restart the broadband router. You'll be prompted to conrm the restart, click 'OK' to restart the broadband router.

4-3 Language

This broadband router's web-based user interface supports several languages. You can change the display language by click 'Language' buon in main menu.

To change the display language, select 'Language' dropdown menu from upper-right corner of main menu, and select the language you wish to use.
