1. General Product Informaon

1.1 What is Autodesk® SketchBook® Pro 6 soware?

Autodesk SketchBook® Pro for Windows or Mac is a fun and intuitive paint and drawing application, helping you to transform your computer into an ideal artist toolkit. With tools designed for professional artists, illustrators and designers, SketchBook Pro's easy-to-use interface will help to unlock the artist in everyone. SketchBook Pro is specially designed to work in companion with pen tablets such as Wacom® Bamboo™, Intuos®, and Cintq® products and Windows® tablets to deliver an authentic drawing experience.

1.2 What types of hardware can I run Autodesk SketchBook Pro on?

Autodesk SketchBook Pro 6 runs on Microso® Windows® XP, Windows® 7 and on Mac OS® Version 10.6, 10.7, or 10.8 with Intel®-based Mac systems only.

1.3 What are the System Requirements for Windows?

• Microsoft® Windows7® or Windows® XP
  • 1 GHz Intel or AMD processor
• 1 GB of RAM
• Graphics card capable of 1,024 x 768 display with 128MB RAM
• Pressure-sensitive tablet and pen recommended for basic features.

1.4 What are the System Requirements for Mac?

• Apple® Mac OS® Version 10.6, 10.7, or 10.8, 1GHz, Intel-Based CPU
• 1GB of RAM
• Graphics card capable of 1,024 x 768 display with 128MB RAM, recommended with Core Image Support
• Pressure-sensitive tablet and pen recommended for basic features.

1.5 What languages are supported?

SketchBook Pro is localized into 8 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

1.6: Can I use SketchBook Pro to make photographs into images that look like painngs?

No, SketchBook Pro does not have Iters or brushes for creang natural media eects (i.e. water color, oil paint). However, we have introduced new synthec paintbrushes and blending/smudging tools in this version that create results similar to acrylic paints.

2.1 I am a current user of SketchBook Pro 2011. Is there an upgrade oer for version 6?

Yes, as an exisng customer, you are entled to purchase the upgrade version. You can purchase a license directly through the online Autodesk Store (available for internaonal purchase) or you can purchase through any Autodesk Authorized Reseller.

2.2 Is there a Trial version to try out?

Yes, the full featured trial version can be downloaded from www.sketchbook.com/trysketchbook. The trial runs for 15 non-consecuve days, allowing you to explore the applicaon at your own pace.

2.3 How do I upgrade my Trial to the full version?

If you like the trial version, you can purchase a license directly through the online Autodesk Store (available for internaonal purchase) or you can purchase through any Autodesk Authorized Reseller. Once you receive an Acvaon Code, you simply enter this into the Acvaon Dialog of the Trial version. This converts the trial permanently into the full featured applicaon so you will not lose your work.

2.4 Am I allowed to install SketchBook Pro on mulple machines??

It is possible to install Sketchbook Pro on mulple machines; however, all users are subject to the End User License Agreement, secon 3, which describes allowable and permied uses.

2.5 I am geng new hardware. Can I transfer my license to a new machine if it is a dierent plaorm?

If you are switching to new hardware (Mac to Windows or vice versa) you simply need to install and use your Acvaon Codes to acvate SketchBook Pro on your new hardware.

1. Compatibility and Interoperability

3.1 Does SketchBook Pro 6 work with older Macs?

No, PPC Mac systems are not supported.

3.2 What le formats can I read and write?

SketchBook Pro reads and writes many common formats including TIFF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and GIF. You can set a preference that lets you save background transparency for TIFF and PNG formats. You can also read and write PSD les to move layered sketches back and forth between Adobe® Photoshop® sware.

3.3 Can I use a mouse with SketchBook Pro?

For freehand sketching, SketchBook Pro is opmal with pen-based input, so to take full advantage of brush quality and the user interface, a tablet PC or a tablet devices (like those oered by Wacom®) is recommended. A mouse and keyboard are ideal for image eding, cropping and text input tasks.

3.4 How does this dier from the App versions, SketchBook Mobile and SketchBook Pro for iPad?

Autodesk® SketchBook® Mobile and Autodesk® SketchBook® Pro for iPad® are designed specially for the respective devices and operating system. They use the same paining engine as the desktop version of SketchBook Pro, but the user interface and feature set are tuned specifically to meet the device form factor and hardware capabilities.

3.5 If I own SketchBook Pro for Mac/Win, how do I get SketchBook Pro from the Mac App Store?

The Mac App Store version is separate product with dierent entlements. It is not possible to transfer a purchase made from retail or e-store for the Mac App Store version or vice-versa.

3.6 I own SketchBook Pro version 5 on the Mac App Store, how do I upgrade to the latest version?

SketchBook Pro 6 is not a free upgrade in the Mac App Store. SketchBook Pro 6 can only be downloaded as a new purchase.

3.7 What are the dierences between the standard retail version and the Mac App Store version?

The products are very similar with just a few key dierences and entlements:

• Mac App Store version follows the Terms of Use as specied by that store
• Mac App Store version has access to iCloud funconality
• Retail version provides access to both Windows and Mac version
• Retail version includes the Snapshot utility
• Retail version entles customers to upgrade pricing on new major releases
