- Power/Sleep: To turn your tablet on or off, press and hold Power/Sleep the back. To make the screen sleep or wake up, press but don't hold.
- Charging: The Low Battery Charging Light tells you the tablet is charging, but doesn't have enough power to turn on. The light turns off when you can turn on the tablet and show the charging icon in the bottom right of the display.

- In the unlikely event that your tablet becomes unresponsive, try a forced reboot—press and hold both Power/Sleep and the down volume key for more than 12 seconds.
Note: This product uses a non-removable battery. The battery should only be replaced by a Motorola-approved service facility. Any attempt to remove or replace your battery may damage the product and void your warranty.
Note: Always use the charger that came with your tablet, or another Droid Xyboard 8.2 charger. Other chargers may charge at a slower speed.
Note: This device supports apps and services that use a lot of data, so make sure your data plan meets your needs. Contact your service provider for details.

It's all in the touch:
- Touch: Choose an icon or option.
- Touch & hold: Move items on the home screen, or open options for items in lists.
- Drag or flick: Scroll slowly (drag) or quickly (flick).
- Pinch or double-tap: Zoom in and out on websites, photos, and maps.

- Accelerate: Use a dock or Bluetooth® keyboard and mouse when you want to make your tablet more like a laptop computer. Turn them on and touch 📄 Apps > Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings > Find nearby devices. To disconnect the mouse, turn it off. To disconnect the keyboard, touch the keyboard icon in the bottom right of your screen, then drag the touch switch to Off.

Touch an app or book to see details and reviews, then install, buy, or try it.
Tip: Apps and games will appear in your app menu. Widgets can be added to your home screen. To read your books, touch ☐ Apps > Books.
On your computer, you can browse and manage apps for all your Android™ devices at market.android.com.

Apps are great. There's something for everyone. Play, communicate, work, or just for fun. But remember, choose your apps carefully. Here's a few tips to help:
• To help prevent spyware, phishing or viruses affecting your tablet or privacy, use apps from trusted sites, like Market.
- In Android Market, check the apps' ratings and comments before installing. This will help you choose the best ones for you.
- If you doubt the safety of an app, don't install it.
- Like all apps, downloaded apps will use up memory, data, battery, and processing power—some more than others. After installing an app, if you're not happy with how much memory, data, battery or processing power it's using, uninstall it. You can always install it again later.
RECENT APPS
Your tablet remembers the apps you used most recently. Touch to see your recent apps. Touch an app to open it.
MANAGE & RESTORE APPS
Find it: ☐ Apps > ⚙ Settings > Applications > Manage applications
To uninstall a downloaded app, touch Downloaded, then the app, then Uninstall. To reinstall apps from Android Market™, touch Apps > Market > My apps. Previously installed apps are listed and available for download.
To stop, change settings, or manage other options, touch All or Running. Touch the app, then the option you want.
UPDATE MY TABLET
You can check for, download, and install software updates using your tablet or your computer:
• Using your tablet:
You may get an automatic notification of an available update on your tablet. Simply follow the instructions to download and install.
To manually check for updates, touch tops
Settings > About tablet > System updates.
Note: To minimize the impact of updating on your data plan, you might want to use a Wi-Fi connection for updates. Updates can be quite large (25MB or more) or may not be available over the mobile network in some countries.
• Using a computer:
Go to www.motorola.com/myxyboard8.2 and check the "Software" links. If an update is available, simply follow the installation instructions.

TABBED BROWSING
You can open several web pages in the same window to multiply your web surfing fun. Touch ♣ open a new tab. To see a web page, just touch its tab. Touch ✕ a tab to close it.
SELECT LINKS
Touch a link to go to that web page. Touch and hold a link to show options, like Open in new tab or Save link.
PLAY WEB VIDEOS
On many web pages, a message or an icon (like indicates that a video is available. Touch the link or icon to play the video. Touch the Play and Pause but it is to control video playback. If you don't see them, touch the screen.)
BOOKMARKS
You can save bookmarks to your favorite web pages and navigate to them in seconds. To set a bookmark for the web page you're on, touch, then OK. To go to a

bookmarked page, touch , then touch the thumbnail for the page you want.
DOWNLOADS
To see all of your downloads, touch Menu in the browser's top right corner and choose Downloads. Or, just choose ☐ Apps > Downloads from the home screen.
DOWNLOAD APPS
Warning: Apps downloaded from unknown sources can include spyware, phishing, or viruses that affect your tablet, tablet performance, and personal data. For security, download apps only from trusted sites like Apps > Market.
To download apps:
1 If you want to allow downloads from any web page, touch Apps > Settings > Applications > Unknown sources.
2 To launch the browser, touch ☐ Apps > Browser.
3 Find the app you want to download and touch the download link.
Note: Downloaded apps are stored in your tablet's memory.

MOTOCAST™
MotoCast is an exclusive free app from Motorola that lets you stream content from your PC to your tablet any time you have a network connection—music, photos, videos and documents—no separate media tools, apps, or cords needed!
1 On your computer, download and install MotoCast from www.mymotocast.com. Then, enter or create your MotoCast ID.
Note: MotoCast works with Windows XP Service Pack 3 or higher, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Mac OS X 10.5.6 or higher.
To change MotoCast settings, right-click MotoCast in the Windows system tray or the Mac Menu bar.
2 On your tablet, touch 📄 Apps > 📇 MotoCast. Then, enter your Motorola ID.
MotoCast shows you the music, photos, and videos stored on your computer.
3 Follow the MotoCast prompts to stream or download files from your computer—now, you can access your music, photos, and videos on your tablet anywhere you have an Internet connection.

To download a file to your tablet, touch and hold it. Touch other files if you want, then touch 📄 to download them.
Tip: You can also access your computer from any Web browser: Go to www.mymotocast.com and choose the "Sign In" link at the top.
PHOTOS
Take that family photo, and post it online for everyone to see.

To take the photo, touch
Photo modes—Get the best photo every time. Just touch a photo mode:
- Flash: Set to Auto, On, or Off.
- White balance: Adjust for lighting conditions.

After you take the photo, you can touch the thumbnail to open your gallery. Touch the photo to open it:
- Start a slideshow: Touch.

- Delete the photo: Touch

Video modes—Get the best video every time. Just touch a video mode;

After you record the video, you can touch the thumbnail to open your gallery. Touch the video to view options:

GALLERY
Find it: ☐ Apps > Gallery
Tip: To watch your photo slideshow or recorded HD videos on your HDTV, just connect an HDMI cable from your TV or monitor.
1 Choose which photos and videos to show and how you want them listed:
- Camera—All your photos.
- By album—Photos and videos grouped by album.
- Images and videos—Photos only, videos only, or both.

Touch a photo or video thumbnail to select it for viewing or playback.
Touch the play and pause buttons to control video playback.
Note: To see the buttons while the video is playing, touch the screen.
To send a photo or video in a message or post it online, touch and hold the photo or video, then touchShare.
Choose how you want to share—like Bluetooth or Email.
YOUTUBE™ VIDEOS
Find it: Apps > YouTube
Browse, view, and search YouTube videos—you don't even need an account. And if you have an account, sign in to keep up to date with Your Channel.
Note: If you don't have a YouTube account, touch Your Channel > Add account.
FIND & WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS
To search for a YouTube video, just touch or . On browse through popular video categories like This week,
Top rated, Autos & vehicles, Comedy, and more. Touch a video to start playing it. To show a video in high quality, touch HD to the left of the video.
SHARE VIDEOS
Send someone a link to a video you are watching, touch Share in the top right of your screen.
LOG IN OR CREATE ACCOUNT
Find it: ☐ Apps > 📊 YouTube > Menu □ > Sign in
To create your YouTube account, touch Add account. If you already have a YouTube account, touchSign in.
UPLOAD VIDEOS
Find it: Apps > YouTube > Your Channel > Upload
1 Touch the video you want to upload. You can change the video title, description, set the access, and add tags.
2 Touch Upload.
YOUR CHANNEL
Your Channel is where you can find your uploads, playlists, favorites, and subscription. Visit YouTube on the web to learn more about setting up your channel.
MUSIC
Open your music library, then select what you want to play.

To control music playback:

• Find a location: Touch at the top and enter an address, city, or business in the search box.
- Get directions: Touch at the top. Enter starting and end points, or touch and select My current location, Contacts, or Points on map.
- Rotate, tilt, & zoom: To rotate or zoom a map, drag two fingers apart or turn them on the display. To tilt a map, drag two fingers down on the display.
- Compass mode: Center the map on your location, then touch the compass icon at the top to switch to a 3D mode that turns as you do.
- Conserve battery: To conserve battery power (but find your location with less accuracy), set the tablet to use the mobile network. Touch 📋 Apps > Settings > Location & security. In My Location, select Use wireless networks, and uncheck Use GPS satellites.
SET YOUR LOCATION SOURCES
Set your tablet to determine your location using GPS satellite signals (highly accurate, but uses battery power) or using the mobile network (less accurate, but conserves battery power).
To set your location, touch ☐ Apps > ⚙ Settings > Location & security > Use GPS satellites and/or Use wireless networks.
GOOGLE MAPS NAVIGATION™ BETA
Find it: ☐ Apps > ▲ Navigation
Get spoken turn-by-turn directions to the destination you specify. Speak or type your destination, or touch a destination in the Recent Destinations list.

- Touch > Route Info to see route details. In the detailed view, touch to see text directions.
- Touch Menu □, > Layers and select points of interest like Parking or Gas Stations.
Note: Using a mobile device or accessory while driving may cause distraction and may be illegal. Always obey the laws and drive safely.
GOOGLE LATITUDE™
Find it: ☐ Apps > 📄 Latitude
JOIN GOOGLE LATITUDE
Keep track of where your friends and family are on Latitude. Plan to meet up, check that your parents got home safely, or just stay in touch.
Don't worry, your location is not shared unless you agree to it. You need to join Google Latitude, and then invite your friends to view your location or accept their invitations. When using Maps (in any mode except in Street View), touch Menu >Join Latitude. Read the privacy policy and if you agree with it, touch Agree & Share.
ADD & REMOVE FRIENDS
To add friends:
1 Touch to show your friends list, if it isn't open.
2 Touch at the top of your friends list.
3 Touch Select from Contacts, then touch a contact. Or, touch Add via email address, then enter an email address.
4Touch Add friends
If your friends already use Latitude, they'll receive an email request and a notification. If they have not yet joined
Latitude, they'll receive an email request that invites them to sign in to Latitude with their Google account.
To remove friends:
1 Touch 📂 to show your friends list.
2 Touch beside the name you want to delete.
SHARE LOCATION
When you receive a request to share location details you can choose to:
- Accept and share back: See your friend's location, and your friend can see yours.
- Accept, but hide my location: See your friend's location, but they can't see yours.
- Don't accept: Location information is not shared between you and your friend.
HIDE YOUR LOCATION
To hide your location, touch Menu > Settings > Hide your location.

CREATE EMAIL MESSAGES

Touch, then, enter the recipient and message.
Touch to add attachments.
Tip: When you enter text in the To: field, your tablet shows possible matches from your Contacts list, if any exist.
RECEIVE & OPEN EMAIL ATTACHMENTS
When you receive a message with an attachment, you'll see the attachment as a thumbnail. Touch View or Save.
Tip: To send and receive large attachments faster, use a Wi-Fi connection, in "Wi-Fi Networks".

The first time you turned on your tablet, you logged in to your Gmail account.
To add other email accounts, touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account.
• Corporate is for Exchange server work email accounts. Enter details from your IT administrator.
Tip: You might need to enter your domain name with your user name (like domain/username).
- Email is for most personal email accounts. For account details, contact the account provider.
• Google is for adding another Gmail account.
SYNCHRONIZE EMAIL, CONTACTS, & CALENDAR
When you first logged in to your Gmail account on your tablet, you were automatically given access to the same personal information (emails, events, and contacts) that you have on a computer using Gmail, Google Calendar™, and Contacts.
If you use Microsoft Office Outlook on your work computer, your tablet can synchronize emails, events, and contacts with your Microsoft Exchange server.
To automatically sync your applications data, touch Apps
Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account
Auto-sync.
To select which apps to synchronize:
1 Touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account.
2 If necessary, touch Auto-sync to turn it off.
3 Touch an account under Manage accounts to see its list of apps.
4 Touch the apps you don't want to synchronize, like Calendar, Contacts, or Email.

Sync and back up your contacts with your Google account.
Find it: 📄 Apps > 🔊 Contacts
- Create: Touch New (and choose an account if you have more than one). Enter details, then touch Done to save.
- Edit or Delete: Touch the contact, then touch . Edit the contact, or touch Menu > Delete contact.

Read your favorite books, magazines, and newspapers when and where you want.
Find it: Apps > Books
- Open: Flick left and right to see more books in your library. To open a book, touch it.
- Read offline: To store books for reading when you're not connected, touch Menu > Make available offline.

To add an alarm, touch Set, then enter alarm details.
When an alarm sounds, touch to Dismiss to turn it off or Snooze to delay for ten minutes.
CALENDAR
Find it: ☐ Apps > 31 Calendar
View your calendar events from all of your accounts, all in one place. Your calendar events can be viewed in different ways: Touch Day, Week, or Month. When you highlight an event, more details appear.
ADD CALENDAR EVENTS
From any view, touch enter the event start time and other details. You can even set a reminder so you don't forget about the event.
When you finish entering event details, touch Done.
MANAGE CALENDAR EVENTS
To edit an event, touch and hold it, then touch Details.

To delete an event, touch and hold it, then touch Delete.
To go to today, touch Today at the top right of the screen.
NETWORK
You should not need to change any network settings.
Contact your service provider for help.
Touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Wireless & networks
Mobile networks to show options for roaming networks, network selection, operator selection, and access point names.
AIRPLANE MODE
Use airplane mode to turn all your wireless connections off—useful when flying. Touch the bottom right corner of the screen, then touch > Airplane mode.

Note: The Bluetooth Enhanced Audio setting is not recommended for older Bluetooth headsets, as it may not deliver acceptable sound quality.
CONNECT DEVICES
The first time you connect a device, follow the steps below (to disconnect or reconnect the device, turn it off or on).
1 Make sure the device you are pairing with is in discoverable mode.
Note: Refer to the guide that came with the device for details.

2 Touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings.
3 Touch Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth power, if necessary.
4 Touch Find nearby devices.
5 Touch a device to connect.
Tip: You can touch a device name here to disconnect or reconnect it.
6 If necessary, touch Pair, or enter the device passkey (like 0000) to connect to the device. When the device is connected, the Bluetooth indicator appears in the status panel.
Note: Using a mobile device or accessory while driving may cause distraction and may be illegal. Always obey the laws and drive safely.
LET DEVICES FIND YOUR TABLET
To allow a Bluetooth device to discover your tablet:
1 Touch 📄 Apps > 🎥 Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings.
2 Touch Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth power, if necessary.

CONNECT TO NETWORKS
To find networks in your range:
1 Touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi Settings.
2 Touch Wi-Fi to turn on and scan. If Wi-Fi is already on, touch Menu > Scan. Your tablet lists the networks it finds within range.
Tip: To see your tablet's MAC address or other Wi-Fi details, touch Menu □ > Advanced.
3 Touch a network to connect.
4 If necessary, enter Network SSID, Security, and Wireless password, and touch Connect. When your tablet is connected to the network, the wireless indicator appears in the status bar.
Tip: When Wi-Fi power is on, your tablet automatically reconnects to available networks it has used before

ACTIVATE GLOBAL MODE
To use your tablet in international locations, touch 📄 Apps
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks
Network mode, then select Global, CDMA/LTE, CDMA only, or GSM/UMTS.
SELECT A GSM CARRIER
In some cases you may be prompted to select a carrier's network. When you first enter a country with GSM service and turn on your device, it will search for a network. The main display of your device will display the networks that are available in that destination.
CONNECT TO A CDMA OR GSM NETWORK
Verizon Wireless offers services outside of the U.S. on both CDMA and GSM networks. The global plan or feature and the activated 4G SIM Card let you access GSM networks while traveling outside the U.S.
When your device is in Global Roaming mode, you can automatically connect to an appropriate CDMA or GSM network when traveling.
Important: The 4G SIM card must remain in your device when in use.
WIRELESS NETWORK COVERAGE INDICATORS
Typically there are indicators on the device display or connection manager (like VZAccess Manager) showing the wireless coverage level for the area in which you are using your global device. Depending on the wireless signal strength, some of the device's features may be limited.
GLOBAL DATA INFORMATION
You can stay connected on a phone, smartphone, laptop or tablet while you travel outside of the U.S. by adding a Global Data plan to a domestic Mobile Broadband Plan or with a pay-per-use Global Data feature. You can calculate your data usage to figure out which plan or feature will best meet your needs using our Data Calculator, which can be accessed at http://www.verizonwireless.com/splash_includes/datacalculator.html.

VOICE READOUTS
To turn on voice readouts, touch 📄 Apps > ⚙️ Settings
Accessibility > Accessibility, then select an option:
- Talkback: The tablet speaks out loud to describe each action you complete.
- SoundBack: Play a sound to confirm your action, you signal a change of tablet status, or alert you to notifications.
- Download accessibility scripts: Allow applications to download accessibility scripts from Google.

Get a closer look. To zoom in, double tap the screen, or touch the screen with two fingers and then slide them apart. To zoom out, double tap the screen again, or drag your fingers together.
DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS
Set a brightness level that works for you. Touch 📄 Apps > Settings > Screen > Brightness. Make sure that Automatic brightness is unchecked so you can set your own level.
MESSAGES
To make text entry easier, you can use features like auto-capitalization, auto-correction, and show correction suggestions—touch 📄 Apps > ⚙ Settings > Language & input > Configure input methods > Settings. Of course if you don't want to type at all, then use your voice—touch 📃 the touchscreen keypad.

Want more? No problem. Android Market™ provides access to thousands of apps, and many provide useful accessibility features.

In the unlikely event that your tablet becomes unresponsive, try a forced reboot: Press and hold both Power/Sleep and the down volume key for more than 12 seconds.
RESET YOUR TABLET
If you want to clear your tablet, or if you forget your unlock PIN or Password, you can do a factory data reset to restore your tablet to its factory settings.
Tip: If you forget your unlock Pattern, see "QUICK START: PROTECT".
Warning: The following procedure deletes all of your data on the tablet. This includes pictures, videos, documents, and other files that you have not backed up online or on a PC.
1 Turn off your tablet (if necessary, force a reboot).
2 Press and hold both volume keys while you press Power/Sleep your tablet should show the Boot Mode menu.
Press the volume down key to scroll to Recovery mode, then press the volume up key to activate it.

Battery Use & Safety
The following battery use and safety information applies to all Motorola mobile devices. If your mobile device uses a non-removable main battery (as stated in your product information), details related to handling and replacing your battery should be disregarded—the battery should only be replaced by a Motorola-approved service facility, and any attempt to remove or replace your battery may damage the product.
Important: Handle and store batteries properly to avoid injury or damage. Most battery safety issues arise from improper handling of batteries, and particularly from the continued use of damaged batteries.
DON'Ts
- Don't disassemble, crush, puncture, shred, or otherwise attempt to change the form of your battery.
- Don't use tools, sharp objects, or excessive force to insert or remove the battery as this can damage the battery.
- Don't let the mobile device or battery come in contact with liquids.* Liquids can get into the mobile device's circuits, leading to corrosion.
- Don't allow the battery to touch metal objects. If metal objects, such as jewelry, stay in prolonged contact with the battery contact points, the battery could become very hot.
- Don't place your mobile device or battery near a heat source.* High temperatures can cause the battery to swell, leak, or malfunction.
- Don't dry a wet or damp battery with an appliance or heat source, such as a hair driver or microwave oven.

If you see a message on your display such as Invalid Battery or
Unable to Charge, take the following steps
- Remove the battery and inspect it to confirm that it has a "Motorola Original" hologram;
• If there is no hologram, the battery is not a Motorola battery;
- If there is a hologram, replace the battery and try charging it again;
- If the message remains, contact a Motorola authorized service center.

Proper and safe battery disposal and recycling: Proper battery disposal is not only important for safety, it benefits the environment. Seizures, Blackouts & Eyestrain
To reduce eyestrain and avoid headaches, it is always a good idea to hold the screen a comfortable distance from your eyes, use in a well-lit area, and take frequent breaks. Some people may be susceptible to seizures or blackouts (even if they have never had one before) when exposed to flashing lights or light patterns, such as when playing video games, or watching videos with flashing-light effects.
Discontinue use and consult a physician if any of the following symptoms occur: seizures, blackout, convulsion, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, or disorientation.
If you or someone in your family has experienced seizures or blackouts, please consult with your physician before using an application that produces flashing-light effects on your mobile device.
Caution About High Volume Usage
Warning: Exposure to loud noise from any source for extended periods of time may affect your hearing. The louder the volume sound level, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected. To protect your hearing:
- Limit the amount of time you use headsets or headphones at high volume.
- Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
- Turn the volume down if you can't hear people speaking near you.
If you experience hearing discomfort, including the sensation of pressure or fullness in your ears, ringing in your ears, or muffled speech, you should stop listening to the device through your headset or headphones and have your hearing checked.

Repetitive Motion
When you repetitively perform actions such as pressing keys or entering finger-written characters, you may experience occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoulders,
neck, or other parts of your body. If you continue to have discomfort during or after such use, stop use and see a physician.
Children
Keep your mobile device and its accessories away from small children. These
products are not toys and may be hazardous to small children. For example:
• A choking hazard may exist for small, detachable parts.
- Improper use could result in loud sounds, possibly causing hearing injury.
- Improperly handled batteries could overheat and cause a burn
Supervise access for older children. Similar to a computer, if an older child does use your mobile device, you may want to monitor their access to help prevent:

Glass Parts

Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
Potentially explosive areas are often, but not always, posted and can include blasting areas, fueling stations, fueling areas (such as below decks on boats), fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, or areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain dust, or metal powders.

Radio Frequency (RF) Energy
Exposure to RF Energy
Your mobile device contains a transmitter and receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with your mobile device, the system handling your network access controls the power level at which your mobile device transmits. Your mobile device is designed to comply with local regulatory requirements in your country concerning exposure of human beings to RF energy.
RF Energy Interference/Compatibility
Nearly every electronic device is subject to RF energy interference from external sources if inadequately shielded, designed, or otherwise configured for RF energy compatibility. In some circumstances, your mobile device may cause interference with other devices.
Follow Instructions to Avoid Interference Problems

Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC). These limits include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The radio wave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 1.6 W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Location Services
The following information is applicable to Motorola mobile devices that provide location based functionality. Location sources can include GPS, AGPS and Wi-Fi.
Your mobile device may use Global Positioning System (GPS) signals for location-based applications. GPS uses satellites controlled by the U.S. government that are subject to changes implemented in accordance with the Department of Defense policy and the Federal Radio Navigation Plan. These changes may affect the performance of location technology on your mobile device.
Your mobile device may also use Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS), which obtains information from the cellular network to improve GPS performance. AGPS uses your wireless service provider's network and therefore airtime, data charges, and/or additional charges may apply in accordance with your service plan. Contact your wireless service provider for details.
Your mobile device can also use Wi-Fi signals to determine your approximate location, using information from known and available Wi-Fi networks.

Location-based information includes information that can be used to determine the approximate location of a mobile device. Mobile devices which are connected to a wireless network transmit location-based information. Devices enabled with location technology also transmit location-based information. Additionally, if you use applications that require location-based information (e.g. driving directions), such applications transmit location-based information. This location-based information may be shared with third parties, including your wireless service provider, applications providers, Motorola, and other third parties providing services.
Navigation
The following information is applicable to Motorola mobile devices that provide navigation features.
When using navigation features, note that mapping information, directions and other navigational data may contain inaccurate or incomplete data. In some countries, complete information may not be available. Therefore, you should visually confirm that the navigational instructions are consistent with what you see. All drivers should pay attention to road conditions, closures, traffic, and all other factors that may impact driving. Always obey posted road signs.

Your mobile device lets you communicate by voice and data—almost anywhere, anytime, wherever wireless connection is available and safe conditions allow. When driving a car, driving is your first responsibility. If you choose to use your mobile device while driving, remember the following tips:
- Get to know your Motorola mobile device and its features such as voice commands and "read out loud" features. If available, these features help you to use your device without taking your attention off the road.
- When available, use a handsfree device. If possible, add an additional layer of convenience to your mobile device with one of the many Motorola Original handsfree accessories available today.
- Position your mobile device within easy reach. Be able to access your mobile device without removing your eyes from the road. If you receive a call at an inconvenient time, if possible, let your voicemail answer it for you.

California Perchlorate Label
Some mobile devices use an internal, permanent backup battery on the printed circuit board that may contain very small amounts of perchlorate. In such cases, California law requires the following label: Perchlorate Material—special handling may apply when the battery is recycled or disposed of. Hearing Aid Compatibility with Mobile Devices
Some Motorola products are measured for compatibility with hearing aids. If the box for your particular model has "Rated for Hearing Aids" printed on it, the following explanation applies.
When some mobile devices are used near some hearing devices (hearing aids and cochlear implants), users may detect a buzzing, humming, or whining noise. Some hearing devices are more immune than others to this interference noise, and mobile devices also vary in the amount of interference they generate.
The mobile devices industry has developed ratings for some of their products, to assist hearing device users in finding products that may be compatible with their hearing devices. Not all mobile devices have been rated. Products that are rated have the rating on their box or a label on the box. To maintain the published Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) rating for this mobile device, use only the original equipment battery model.
This mobile device has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this device that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of this product thoroughly and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering noise. Contact your service provider or Motorola for information on hearing aid compatibility. If you have questions about return or exchange policies, contact your service provider or retailer.
The ratings are not guarantees. Results will vary depending on the user's hearing device and hearing loss. If your hearing device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may

not be able to use a rated mobile device successfully. Trying out the product with your hearing device is the best way to evaluate it for your personal needs.
M-Ratings: Products rated M3 or M4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to generate less interference to hearing devices than products that are not labeled. M4 is the better/higher of the two ratings.
T-Ratings: Products rated T3 or T4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to be more usable with a hearing device's telecoil ("T Switch" or "Telephone Switch") than unrated products. T4 is the better/higher of the two ratings. (Note that not all hearing devices have telecoils in them.)
Hearing devices may also be measured for immunity to this type of interference. Your hearing device manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you find results for your hearing device. The more immune your hearing aid is, the less likely you are to experience interference noise from mobile devices.

- A representative of Motorola, or of a Motorola Authorized Repair Center, will help determine whether your Product requires service. You may be required to download, or otherwise obtain and accept software updates from Motorola or a Motorola Authorized Repair Center. You are responsible for any applicable carrier service fees incurred while obtaining the required downloads. Complying with the warranty process, repair instructions and accepting such software updates is required in order to receive additional warranty support.
- If the software update does not fix the problem, you will receive instructions on how to ship the Product to a Motorola Authorized Repair Center or other entity.
- To obtain warranty service, as permitted by applicable law, you are required to include: (a) a copy of your receipt, bill of sale or other comparable proof of purchase; (b) a written description of the problem; (c) the name of your service provider, if applicable; (d) your address and telephone number. In the event the Product is not covered by the Motorola Limited Warranty, Motorola will inform the consumer of the availability, price and other conditions applicable to the repair of the Product.
ALL INFORMATION, DATA, SOFTWARE OR OTHER APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL CONTACTS, ADDRESS BOOKS, PICTURES, MUSIC AND GAMES WILL BE ERASED DURING THE REPAIR PROCESS, AND CAN NOT BE REINSTALLED BY MOTOROLA. To avoid losing such information, data,
software or other applications please create a back up before you deliver your Product for warranty service, and disable any security passwords. You will be responsible for reinstalling all such information, data, software, other applications and passwords. Your Product or a replacement Product will be returned to you as your Product was configured when originally purchased, subject to applicable software updates. Motorola may install operating system software updates as part of warranty service that may prevent the Product from reverting to an earlier version of the operating system software. Third party applications installed on the Product may not be compatible or work with the Product as a result of the operating system software update. Motorola and its Authorized Service Centers are not responsible for the loss of, or inability to use, such information, data, software or other applications.

FOR CONSUMERS WHO ARE COVERED BY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS OR REGULATIONS IN THEIR COUNTRY OF PURCHASE OR, IF DIFFERENT, THEIR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE, THE BENEFITS CONFERRED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ARE IN ADDITION TO ALL RIGHTS AND REMEDIES CONVEYED BY SUCH CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
Who is Covered?
This Limited Warranty extends only to the first consumer purchaser of the Product, and is not transferable.
What Does this Limited Warranty Cover?
Motorola's warranty obligations are limited to the terms and conditions set forth herein and are only available in the country where the Product was purchased. Subject to the exclusions contained below, Motorola warrants this Tablet Computer ("Product") against defects in materials and workmanship, under normal consumer use, for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser ("Warranty Period").
Products repaired or replaced under this Limited Warranty are covered for the balance of the original warranty period, or 90 days from the date of service, whichever is longer. Any upgrade to the original product will be covered only for the duration of the Warranty Period.
This Limited Warranty applies only to new Products which are a) manufactured by or for Motorola as identified by the "Motorola" trademark, trade name, or logo legally affixed to them; b) purchased by consumers from an authorized reseller or distributor of Motorola Products; and c) accompanied by this written Limited Warranty.
What Will Motorola Do?
If a covered defect or damage arises and a valid warranty claim is received within the applicable Warranty Period, Motorola, at its sole option, unless otherwise required by applicable law, will either (1) repair, at no charge, the defect or damage using new, used or reconditioned/refurbished functionally equivalent replacement parts; or (2) exchange the Product with a replacement Product that is new or which has been reconditioned/refurbished or otherwise remanufactured from new or used parts and is functionally equivalent to the original Product; or (3) refund the purchase price of any Products covered by the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty. Products, parts and supporting documentation provided to Motorola as part of the warranty process, shall become the property of Motorola, and may not be returned. When a replacement or refund is given, the Product for which the replacement or refund is provided must be returned to Motorola and shall become the property of Motorola.
Exclusions (Products and Accessories) This warranty does not apply to:
(a) Consumable parts, such as batteries, unless its fully charged capacity falls below 50% of their rated capacity within the first year from the date of purchase; or protective coatings designed to diminish over time unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
(b) Cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, cracks or other cosmetic damage.
(c) Damage caused by use with non-Motorola products. Defects or damage that result from the use of non-Motorola branded or certified Products, accessories or other

peripheral equipment, including without limitation housings, parts, or software, are excluded from coverage.
(d) Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, earthquake or other external causes including but not limited to: (i) improper usage or operation (e.g. operating the Product outside their permitted or intended uses as defined by Motorola, including but not limited to as set forth by Motorola in the Products' User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Online Tutorials, and other documentation), improper storage (e.g. subjecting the Product to extreme temperatures), abuse or neglect (e.g. broken/bent/missing clips/fasteners/connectors); impact damage (e.g. dropping the Product) (ii) contact with liquids, water, rain, extreme humidity, heavy perspiration or other moisture; sand, food, dirt or similar substances; (iii) use of the Products for commercial rental purposes; or (iv) external causes or acts which are not the fault of Motorola, including but not limited to flood, fire, earthquake, tornado or other acts of God, are excluded from coverage. (e) Damage caused by unauthorized Service or Modification. Defects or damage resulting from service, testing, adjustment, installation, maintenance, alteration, or modification in any way, including but not limited to tampering with or altering the software, by someone other than Motorola, or its authorized service centers, are excluded from coverage.
(i) A product or part that has been modified in any manner without the written permission of Motorola. Products that have been altered in any manner so as to prevent Motorola from determining whether such Products are covered under the terms of this. Limited Warranty are excluded from coverage. The foregoing shall include but not be limited to (i) serial numbers, date tags or other manufacturer coding that has been removed, altered or obliterated; (ii) mismatched or duplicated serial numbers; or (iii) broken seals or other evidence of tampering. Do not open the Product or attempt to repair the Product yourself; such conduct may cause damage that is not covered by this warranty.
(g) Normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product. (h) Defects, damages, or the failure of the Product due to any communication service or network you subscribe to or use with the Products.
N All software, including operating system software, third-party software, applications, and all other software of any kind. Software distributed by Motorola is provided "AS-IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." "WITH ALL FAULTS" and without a warranty of any kind. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Motorola product or any software, even if packaged or sold with the Motorola Product hardware, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
Products that have been refurbished, reconditioned, or remanufactured. The foregoing does not apply to Products repaired or replaced pursuant to the terms of this Limited Warranty.
What Other Limitations are There?
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, STATUTORY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN
REPRESENTATIONS MADE BY MOTOROLA OR ANY SELLER, RESELLER OR DISTRIBUTOR OF THE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS THEREOF, SHALL CREATE ANY ADDITIONAL WARRANTY OBLIGATIONS, INCREASE THE SCOPE, OR OTHERWISE MODIFY IN ANY MANNER THE TERMS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
- MOTOROLA SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NONINFRINGEMENT AND ALL WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. WHERE SUCH STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES CANNOT LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED, THEN TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY CONTAINED HEREIN AND THE REMEDIES OF REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR REFUND AS DETERMINED BY MOTOROLA IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION SHALL BE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY OF THE CONSUMER.
- MOTOROLA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE OPERATION OF ANY PRODUCTS OR SOFTWARE COVERED UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WORK IN COMBINATION WITH ANY HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS OR THIRD PARTY SERVICES, BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR WITHOUT RISK TO, OR LOSS OF, ANY INFORMATION, DATA, SOFTWARE OR APPLICATIONS CONTAINED THEREIN, OR THAT DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCTS OR SOFTWARE WILL BE CORRECTED.
- IN NO EVENT SHALL MOTOROLA BE LIABLE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR UNDER OTHER LEGAL THEORY (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCTS, OR FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, OR LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS; LOSS OF BUSINESS; BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY; LOSS OF GOODWILL; LOSS OF REPUTATION; LOSS OF DAMAGE TO, OR CORRUPTION OF INFORMATION, DATA, SOFTWARE OR APPLICATIONS INCLUDING ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH RECOVERING, PROGRAMMING, OR REPRODUCING ANY INFORMATION, DATA, SOFTWARE OR APPLICATIONS STORED ON OR USED WITH MOTOROLA PRODUCTS, OR ANY FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF ANY INFORMATION OR DATA STORED ON THE PRODUCTS); OR OTHER FINANCIAL LOSS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE ABILITY OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCTS.
SOME STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION ON THE LENGTH OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURIES CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE OR JURISDICTION.

In the event that any term or provision contained in this Limited Warranty is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, then such provision shall be deemed modified to the extent necessary to make such provision enforceable by such court, taking into account the intent of the parties. The invalidity in whole or in part of any portion of this Limited Warranty shall not impair or affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Limited Warranty.
