INTRODUCTION

Thank you for choosing the Raya 32" Octa Softbox for Raya Fluorescent Fixture 7. Designed for use with 7 - 50 watt spiral fluorescent bulbs at a maximum of 350 watts, this softbox includes a 32" removable front and interior diffusers, making the item ideal for scenarios requiring a soft light spread. This quality softbox is highly portable. With no speed ring required for operation, it is perfect for studio or on-location shooting scenarios that require an easy setup and takedown.

PRECAUTIONS ⚠️

• Please read and follow these instructions. Keep this manual in a safe place.
• Use only spiral fluorescent bulbs. Not for use with household tungsten bulbs.
• Handle fluorescent bulbs with care.
• Dispose of fluorescent bulbs properly.
• Fluorescent bulbs contain mercury. If a fluorescent bulb breaks, do not touch mercury with hands—exposure to mercury can lead to adverse health effects.
• Keep this product away from water and any flammable gases or liquids.

INSTRUCTIONS

ASSEMBLING THE SOFTBOX

The Raya 32" Octa Softbox is directly compatible for use with the Raya Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture. Before attaching the two items, make sure all lamps are removed from the fixture and that it is not plugged into a power source. Also remove the fixture from any mounted peripheral.

1 Remove the softbox from the carrying case and unfold it.

2 Take the light fixture's power cord and run it through the hole in the middle of the softbox from the inside (reflective silver surface) out.

3 Tilt the light fixture to allow its mount and locking knobs through the hole. Then position the back of the light fixture into the middle hole of the softbox.

4 Fit the elastic ring of the softbox around the back of the fixture.

5 Take a flex rod from the carrying case and insert the black end into one of the eight flex rod slots on the light fixture.

6 Align the softbox's flex rod pockets with the flex rod slots on the light fixture. Insert the silver-tipped end of the flex rod into one of the flex rod pockets on the inside edge of the softbox. Bending the rod may be

necessary to fit into the pocket.

7 Attach the next rod on the opposite side from the first rod.

8 Repeat the last three steps until all of the flex rods have been installed. Once completed, the softbox should be stretched tight and be able to keep its shape on its own.

9 Install the fluorescent bulbs on the light fixture.
10 Install the inner diffuser baffle in the softbox by inserting the baffle's loops into the softbox's baffle clips on the inner surface, half way up the side.

11 Once secured, take the outer diffuser and stretch it over the open mouth of the softbox. Connect the baffle and diffuser's touch fasteners to secure.
12 Mount the light fixture on a light stand to complete the setup process.

DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1 Turn off the light fixture and disconnect it from the power source.
2 Once the bulbs have cooled, take off the front and inner diffusers and carefully remove the bulbs from the light fixture.
3 Remove the light fixture from its stand.
4 Remove the flex rods from the softbox. Firmly

bend the rods to remove them from their slots.

5 Remove the softbox from the light fixture by pulling it through the hole from the inside (silver-faced surface) of the softbox.

6 Fold up the softbox and diffusers and return them and the flex rods to the carrying case.

Raya OC-OF7 Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture

The 32-inch Raya Octa Softbox is designed to work seamlessly with the Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture. The compact and light-weight lighting fixtures are ideal for studio and on-location shooting. The device's two rocker switches provide the user with light customization control, while the fluorescent bulbs provide a comfortable, low-heat lighting solution. Using Edison-base compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), the powerful 7 light fixture has a 350 watt total output (when used with 7 - 50 watt CFLs), providing excellent illumination coverage with the equivalent of a 1400 watt output from a tungsten bulb (Caution: do not use this product with a tungsten bulb). With the 5/8" light stand mount and locking tilt knob, the Raya Octa Fluorescent Fixture has the ability to be adjusted easily into many positions.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

This RAYA product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider's responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider's discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, THE WARRANTY PROVIDER MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, and you may also have additional rights that vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Raya Customer Service Department to obtain a return merchandise authorization ("RMA") number, and return the defective product to Raya along with the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product is at the purchaser's own risk and expense.
