CONNECTIONS

From the AXVI-6515 harness to the aftermarket radio, connect the:

  • Yellow wire to the radio's 12-volt battery or memory wire.
  • Black wire to the radio's ground wire.
    • Red wire to the ignition wire of the aftermarket radio
  • Orange wire to the illumination wire. (if applicable)
  • Blue/White wire to the radio's amp turn on wire.
  • White wire to the left front positive speaker output.
  • White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output radio.
  • Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output.
  • Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output.
  • Green wire to the radio's left rear positive speaker output.
  • Green/Black wire to the radio's left rear negative speaker output.
  • Purple wire to the radio's right rear positive speaker output.
  • Purple/Black wire to the radio's right rear negative speaker output.

The following (3) wires are only for multimedia/navigation radios that require these wires.

• Light Green wire to the parking brake wire of the aftermarket navigation radio.
- Blue/Pink wire to the VSS or speed sense wire of the aftermarket navigation radio.
- Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire of the aftermarket navigation radio.
- Plug the AUX/3.5mm or BT/USB RCAs to the aftermarket radio's audio AUX input.

12-pin AXSWC harness & 3.5mm jack:

The 12-pin AXSWC harness & 3.5mm jack is to be used with the AXSWC (sold separately) to retain steering wheel audio controls. If the AXSWC is not being used, disregard this harness. If it is to be used, refer to the AXSWC instructions for radio connections and programming. Disregard the harness that comes with the AXSWC.

INSTALLATION

With the key in the off position:

- Connect the AXVI-6515 harness to AXVI-6515 interface, and then to the wiring harness in the vehicle.

Note: If using the AXSWC, connect it after you program and test the AXVI-6515, with the key in the off position.

PROGRAMMING

Attention! If the interface loses power for any reason, the following steps will need to be performed again.

  • Turn the key (or push-to-start button) to the ignition position and wait until the radio comes on.
    Note: If the radio does not come on within 60 seconds, turn the key to the off position, disconnect the interface, check all connections, reconnect the interface, and then try again.
  • Turn the key to the off position, and then to the accessory position. Test the interface/radio for proper operation.
