Basic safety precautions
This Floormate Cordless is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use.
- This Floormate Cordless is for use on hard floors only.
- Only use the Floormate Cordless indoors and keep the area you're cleaning well lit.
- Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing from moving parts and openings whilst using the Floormate Cordless.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenances shall not be made by children without supervision.

Don'ts
- Don't use this Floormate Cordless if it has been dropped, damaged, immersed in water or left outdoors.
- Don't run over the power cord or use Floormate Cordless if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- Don't handle the plug or use the Floormate Cordless with wet hands.
- Don't unplug the charger by pulling on the power cord.

Do's
- Always turn off the Floormate Cordless before carrying out any maintenance.
- The clean water tank should only be filled with warm water (max 40°C). Filling the clean water tank with hot or boiling water may damage your machine and invalidate your guarantee.
- Turn off all controls on the Floormate Cordless before disconnecting or connecting the battery.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp fuse. - Use only the battery (Vax part no. BH03120UK) supplied by Vax. Other batteries may burst causing serious personal injury or damage.

Only use Vax hard floor cleaning detergent. Using other solution may cause excess foaming.

Please refer to floor manufacturer's care recommendations before use, and test your flooring by running the Floormate Cordless over a small hidden area, if no damage or discolouration occurs continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on water sensitive flooring.
- Replace battery with Vax battery only. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion.
- Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting. The battery is to be disposed of safely at your local battery recycling centre.
- In case of battery leakages, avoid any contact with skin and contact our Customer Care Line on: 0330 026 8455 (Mon-Fri 8:30am to 6:30pm, Sat 9:00am to 5:00pm).
- In the eventuality of scrapping the product, please remove the battery from the unit.

The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance.

Don't attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to your Floormate Cordless.
- Don't use the Floormate Cordless with incorrect voltage as this may result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the ratings label.
- Don't vacuum up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or smoking hot burning items or use in an area where there may be harmful fluids (chlorine, bleach, and ammonia drain cleaner).

Don't try to short the terminals of the battery and the charger.

Always protect the charger cord from heated surfaces or near open flames.
- Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it can be a trip hazard.
• Always carry the Floormate Cordless by the handle. - Always use the Floormate Cordless in an upright position. To prevent motor damage from dirty water, never hold the Floormate Cordless upside down or lay on its side.
- Store your Floormate Cordless in a cool, dry area. Before storing your Floormate Cordless please ensure all water/detergent tanks and filters are thoroughly clean and dry.

Getting Started

CAUTION: The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble or heat above manufacturer's maximum temperature limit (60°C/140°F) or incinerate. Replace battery with Vax battery only. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in fire. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger have no user serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result. Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting. The battery is to be disposed of safely at your local battery recycling centre.
For best performance terminals on battery, battery charger and Floormate Cordless must be clean and free from dust and dirt. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped. The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery. In case of battery leakages avoid any contact with skin and contact our Customer Care Line on: 0330 026 8455 (Mon-Fri 8:30am to 6:30pm, Sat 9:00am to 5:00pm).

Removing the battery

To check how much life is left on the battery, press down on the battery button and see the battery life indicator.
IMPORTANT: The battery will need fully charging before first use.
NOTE: The life expectancy of the battery will vary depending on the usage of the Floormate Cordless.
Using your machine

IMPORTANT: Only use Vax hard floor cleaning detergent. Using other solution may cause excess foaming. Excessive foaming will prevent the machine from working effectively. Using other detergents will invalidate the guarantee.

Using your machine
IMPORTANT: Please refer to floor manufacturer's care recommendations before use, and test your flooring by running the Floormate Cordless over a small hidden area. If no damage or discolouration has occurred once the area is dry, continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on water sensitive flooring. Vacuum your hard floor thoroughly prior to using your Floormate Cordless.
NOTE: If you just want the brushes to spin, push scroll selector control forward one click to the central position.

IMPORTANT: Remove battery before carrying out any maintenance on your machine.
NOTE: The dirty water tank has an automatic shut off to prevent the tank from overflowing. If this is activated, the Floormate Cordless will not pick up and the sound of the motor will change. The dirty water tank will need to be emptied.

What to do if it goes wrong

There is an accessory missing.
- Check the 'This pack contains' panel on the box to make sure the part is definitely included in your unit.
Why won't the Floormate Cordless turn on?
- Check the fuse in the charger plug. Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 3amp fuse.
- The battery may not be charged, remove and charge the battery.
Why won't my Floormate Cordless pick up?
- The dirty water tank has an automatic shut off to prevent the tank from overflowing. If this is activated, the machine will not pick up and the sound of the motor will change. The dirty water tank will need to be emptied. The nozzle may be blocked. Go to 'Taking care of your machine'.
Why won't the water/ detergent dispense?
- Clean water tank may not be locked in position.
- Clean water tank may be empty and need to be refilled.
Why won't the brushes spin?
- Check the battery charger is plugged in.
- Check the battery is inserted correctly into the charger.
- The battery may not be connecting with the charger. Remove the battery and unplug charger, wait 10 seconds then retry.
- This could also indicate that the battery is fully charged and ready to use.
Why is the battery charger light continually flashing?
- Check the battery is inserted correctly into the charger.
- The battery of charger has an error. Remove the battery and unplug charger, wait 10 seconds then plug charger into socket and reinsert the battery.
- Check terminals on battery and Floormate Cordless are clean.
