The LCD (liquid crystal display) monitor has an active matrix, thin-film transistor (TFT) panel with the following features:

35.6 cm (14-inch) diagonal viewable area display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, plus full-screen support for lower resolutions
- Single USB Type-C connection for power and video (with USB Type-C cable provided)
• LED backlit panel with ultra-thin screen
• Integrated, adjustable stand transforms into carrying case that folds flat for fast, easy transport

WARNING! LCD monitors that are inappropriately situated on dressers, bookcases, shelves, desks, speakers, chests, or carts may fall over and cause personal injury.

Care should be taken to route the USB cable connected to the LCD monitor so that it can not be pulled, grabbed, or tripped over.

CAUTION: Use the appropriate and correctly sized furniture designed to properly support your HP LCD monitor.

CAUTION: Do not pick up the monitor by its protective case. The case and monitor are attached together by magnets. If held improperly, the monitor could detach from the case and fall.

Maintenance guidelines

To enhance the performance and extend the life of the monitor:

- Do not open the monitor cabinet or attempt to service this product yourself. Adjust only those controls that are covered in the operating instructions. If the monitor is not operating properly or has been dropped or damaged, contact an authorized HP dealer, reseller, or service provider.

Cleaning the monitor

  1. Turn off the monitor and unplug the USB cable from the back of the unit.
  2. Dust the monitor by wiping the screen and the cabinet with a soft, clean antistatic cloth.
  3. For more difficult cleaning situations, use a 50/50 mix of water and Isopropyl alcohol.

CAUTION: Spray the cleaner onto a cloth and use the damp cloth to gently wipe the screen surface. Never spray the cleaner directly on the screen surface. It may run behind the bezel and damage the electronics.

CAUTION: Do not use cleaners that contain any petroleum based materials such as benzene, thinner, or any volatile substance to clean the monitor screen or cabinet. These chemicals may damage the monitor.

Shipping the monitor

Keep the original packing box in a storage area. You may need it later if you move or ship the monitor.

3 Setting up and using the monitor

Attaching the protective cover

  1. Lay the monitor face up on a flat surface.
  2. On the protective cover, locate the flap with a ridge on one side. Hold the cover with the ridge facing up and the flap over the HP logo on the monitor bezel.

The top of the protective cover is now lined up with the top of the monitor.

  1. Lower the protective cover onto the monitor.

As the protective cover contacts the monitor, magnets in the bottom edge of the cover align and attach to the monitor.

Setting up the monitor

CAUTION: Do not pick up the monitor by its protective case. The case and monitor are attached together by magnets. If held improperly, the monitor could detach from the case and fall.

  1. Support the monitor with one hand and lift the flap.

  1. Continue to support the monitor and open the protective case.

  1. Set the bottom edge of the monitor on a flat surface with the protective case behind the monitor.

Connecting an HP notebook computer

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB Type-C cable to the USB Type-C port on the monitor. To connect the other end of the cable to the computer, insert the primary USB Type-C connector on the other end of the cable into a USB Type-C port on the computer.
  2. Turn on power to the monitor.

Display modes

When the monitor is attached to your notebook or desktop computer, the monitor can be configured to use either extend mode or mirror mode, or it can be the primary display.

Extend mode (default)

To set up extend mode:

  1. Position the cursor anywhere on your Windows desktop, right-click, and then click Personalize > Display Settings.
  2. In the Display drop-down menu, click the attached monitor, and then select the Extend the desktop onto this monitor check box.

Mirror mode

To set up the attached monitor in mirror mode:

  1. Position the cursor anywhere on your Windows desktop, right-click, and then select Personalize > Display Settings.
  2. In the Display drop-down menu, click the attached monitor, and then clear the Extend the desktop onto this monitor check box.
  3. Click OK to close the settings screen.
    In mirror mode, the settings on the primary monitor (screen resolution, color depth, and refresh rate) are replicated on the attached monitor.

Selecting the Low Blue Light mode

Decreasing the blue light emitted by the monitor reduces the blue light exposure to your eyes. HP monitors provide settings to reduce the blue light output and create a more relaxing and less stimulating image while you view content on the screen. To adjust your monitor to a comfortable viewing light, follow the steps below.

  1. Press one of the four OSD buttons on the bottom left side of the monitor to display the OSD icons on the screen.
  2. Press the Viewing Modes button to open the Viewing Modes menu, or press the Menu button, select Color Control, and then select Viewing Modes.

  3. Select your desired setting:

• Low Blue Light (TUV certified): Reduces blue light for improved eye comfort
●Night: Adjusts the monitor to the lowest blue light output
- Reading: Optimizes both blue light and brightness for indoor viewing

Primary display

Turning on the monitor

Press the power button on the left side of the monitor bezel to turn it on.

CAUTION: Burn-in damage may occur on monitors that display the same static image on screen for two or more hours. To avoid burn-in damage on the monitor screen, you should always activate a screen saver application or turn off the monitor when it is not in use for a prolonged period of time. Image retention is a condition that may occur on all LCD screen. A burned-in image on the monitor is not covered under the HP warranty.
NOTE: If pressing the power button has no effect, the Power Button Lockout feature may be enabled. To disable this feature, press and hold the monitor power button for 10 seconds.
NOTE: You can disable the power LED in the OSD menu. Press the Menu button under the left side of the monitor's front bezel, and then select Power Control > Power LED > Off.

Using the on-screen display (OSD) menu

Use the on-screen display (OSD) menu to adjust the screen image based on your preferences. You can access and make adjustments in the OSD using the buttons under the bottom left side of the monitor bezel.

To access the OSD and make adjustments, do the following:

  1. If the monitor is not already on, press the power button on the left side of the monitor to turn on the monitor.
  2. To access the OSD menu, press the Menu button (1) under the left side of the monitor bezel.
  3. Use the control buttons under the left side of the monitor bezel to navigate, select, and adjust the menu choices.

Energy saver feature

The monitors support a reduced power state. The reduced power state will be entered into if the monitor detects the absence of either the horizontal sync signal and/or the vertical sync signal. Upon detecting the absence of these signals, the monitor screen is blanked, the backlight is turned off, and the power light is turned amber. When the monitor is in the reduced power state, the monitor will utilize 0.5 watts of power. There is a brief warm up period before the monitor will return to its normal operating mode.
