Frequently Asked Questions - SRDUCTN7009 Tripp Lite

What does the SRDUCTN7009 protect against?
The SRDUCTN7009 provides battery backup and surge protection against power outages, brownouts, and voltage spikes.
How long will the battery last during an outage?
Runtime depends on the load. At half load (250W), expect 10–15 minutes; at full load (490W), about 3–5 minutes.
Can I replace the battery myself?
Yes, the battery is user-replaceable and hot-swappable. Refer to your manual for the correct replacement battery model.
What do the LED indicators mean?
Green: normal operation. Yellow: on battery or low battery. Red: overload or fault. Refer to the front panel legend.
How do I connect the UPS to my computer?
Use the USB port on the back with a standard USB cable. Install Tripp Lite PowerAlert software for monitoring and automatic shutdown.
What is the recommended maintenance schedule?
Test the unit monthly by unplugging from AC. Replace the battery every 2-3 years under normal use.
Can I plug a laser printer into this UPS?
No, laser printers draw high peak power and are not compatible. Use a surge suppressor instead.
What does the overload alarm mean?
The load exceeds the UPS capacity (490W). Unplug some devices immediately to avoid shutdown.
Is the UPS rack-mountable?
This model is a tower UPS, not rack-mountable. For rackmount, consider Tripp Lite SmartRack series.
