Frequently Asked Questions - 500786 MuxLab

How do I get started with the MuxLab 500786 camera?
First, ensure you have all components: camera, wireless mic kit, and power. Download the MuxStream App from www.muxlab.com/muxstream or app store. Connect the wireless mic receiver to the camera's line-in port. Connect the camera to your router via Ethernet. Power on all devices and open the app. Create an account and the app will auto-discover your devices.
How can I stream to YouTube or Facebook?
In the MuxStream App, go to the Create Stream tab and select RTMP Stream. Choose YouTube or Facebook from the list, or use 'Custom RTMP Streaming'. Enter your Stream URL and Stream Key from your broadcasting service. Adjust resolution, bitrate, etc. in Settings. Save and start streaming.
What should I do if the camera is not found by the app?
Check that the camera is powered on and connected to the same network as your device. Ensure DHCP is active and you are on the same subnet. Use the Auto-Discover button in the Settings tab. If still not found, verify the Ethernet cable connection and restart the camera.
Can I control the camera remotely?
Yes, the MuxStream App allows full PTZ control (pan, tilt, zoom, focus) via the Broadcast tab. You can also create and recall presets for quick camera positions.
How do I set up a wireless microphone?
Connect the wireless mic receiver to the camera's Line IN port. Ensure both the mic and receiver are fully charged. The camera will automatically use the audio from the mic. Some streaming services require both audio and video; check that the mic is working.
Why am I unable to stream?
Possible causes: no internet connection, incorrect Stream URL or Key, or missing audio signal. Verify your internet quality. Double-check the Stream URL and Key from your service provider. Ensure the wireless mic is connected, charged, and sending audio. Some services like YouTube require audio.
How many presets can I save?
You can create multiple presets. Each preset stores the current pan, tilt, and zoom positions. To create a preset, press '+ PRESET' in the Broadcast tab, give it a name, and save. Recall a preset by tapping its button.
Can I use the camera without the MuxStream App?
The camera is designed to work with the MuxStream App for setup and control. It does not have standalone web interface. You must use the app to configure streaming and PTZ.
What are the recommended streaming settings?
The app provides default values for each streaming service (e.g., YouTube defaults). If customizing, typical settings: Resolution 1080p, Bitrate 4-6 Mbps, FPS 30 or 60, GOP 2 seconds, Encoding H.264. Adjust based on your internet upload speed.
How do I update the firmware or app?
The MuxStream App updates automatically via app stores or website. Camera firmware updates may be provided through the app. Check the Settings tab for app version and any update notifications.
