How often should I replace the filter cartridge?

The recommended replacement period is every 2-4 months, depending on local water quality and daily usage. Only use original Philips cartridge model AWP401.

What does the filter remove?

It uses ion exchange resin to effectively reduce calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions, softening the water and protecting under-the-sink filtration systems.

Can I use the filter with well water?

No, the filter is designed only for municipal tap water. Do not use unknown water sources.

What is the maximum water pressure allowed?

The maximum inlet water pressure is 0.4 MPa. If your water pressure exceeds this, you must install a pressure reducing valve (sold separately).

How do I install the filter?

Mount the hanging board on the wall, rotate the filter clockwise into the seat, connect the L-shaped joints to inlet and outlet, and attach the PE pipes to the three-way ball valve and water purifier.

What should I do if the water flow is slow?

Check if the cold water valve or three-way valve is fully open. If not, the filter cartridge may be blocked – replace it. If water pressure is too low, contact after-sales support.

How do I know when to replace the filter?

When water becomes hard again (reduced softening) or after the recommended 2-4 month period, it's time to replace the cartridge. Also replace if flow decreases significantly.

Is the filter dishwasher safe or can I use chemicals to clean it?

No. Clean with clean water only. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleansers, or corrosive liquids like gasoline or acetone. Do not pour other liquids into the filter.

Can I use a non-Philips replacement cartridge?

Only use the original Philips cartridge (model AWP401). Non-original filters may lack sanitary safety, reduce performance, and void the warranty.

What is the warranty coverage?

The product comes with a 2-year warranty from purchase date for manufacturing defects under normal use. It does not cover consumable parts (filter cartridge) or damages from improper installation, misuse, or unauthorized modifications.

1. Product introduction

Thank you for purchasing. This is a water softening pre-filter. With ion exchange resin, it can effectively reduce Ca2+ and Mg2+, reducing hardness of water to protect the under-the-sink filtration system.

QuickTwist technology allows easy filter replacement.

Filter can be removed with a simple twist.

4. Installation

Preparation before installation

(1) Prepare tools for installation: percussion drill, cross screwdriver, monkey wrench, pipe scissors.
(2) Check if the accessories in packaging list are all provided.

Installation of the filter

① Choose whether to use plastic pipe for bolt installation according to the actual condition of the installation surface.

② Place the hanging board on the wall surface horizontally, go through the fixed holes on the rack with three bolts to fix the rack on the wall;

③ Rotate the filter clockwise into the filter seat;

④ Insert the L-shaped joints into the water inlet and water outlet on the filter seat;

⑤ Cut the 3/8” PE pipe into appropriate length, insert one end into the water inlet on pre-filter, and the other end into the three-way ball valve;

Cut the 3/8" PE pipe into appropriate length. Insert it into the water outlet on pre-filter;

5. Usage instruction

First time usage

(1) Open the three-way valve. Keep the water flowing out from water outlet of filter for 5-10 minutes;

(2) Close the three-way valve. Connect the PE pipe on filter water outlet with water purifier;

(3) Open the three-way valve. Water purifier can be used now.

Replacement of filter cartridge

- Please replace the filter cartridge regularly as recommended. New filter cartridge can be obtained from Philips agents.

It can only be replaced with the original Philips filter cartridge.

- The actual service life of filter cartridge depends on local water quality and daily usage.

Steps for filter cartridge replacement:

① Close the three-way valve;

② Unscrew the old filter cartridge anticlockwise;

③ Screw the new filter cartridge into the filter base clockwise.

6. Precautions

Please read this manual carefully before using the product and keep it properly.

- The product installation, debugging or maintenance must be implemented by the personnel authorized by the manufacturer, to make sure the product is under normal working state. If the product fails to reach the normal state or property due to the installation, debugging or maintenance without the personnel authorized by the manufacturer, the manufacturer shall not take the responsibility.

• The components approved by our company shall be used for product maintenance and filter exchange, the problems caused due to use of unauthorized components or accessories, the declined operational performance or the resulted property damage shall not be included within the limited guarantee scope of the manufacturer.
• Non-original filter may have problems such as lack of sanitary safety assurance in raw materials, declined filtering performance and seal compatibility etc., and it may result in abnormal water quality, bring safety risk and impact the product service life.
• The product is applicable to household water use, for example, if it is used for business, it will reduce the service life of the product.
• The product shall be strictly forbidden to be installed outdoors.
• After the product is installed and used, the user shall make frequent examination and necessary maintenance frequently according to the service condition, in case of abnormality, the user shall stop using immediately and call the service hotline of our company for maintenance.
• The professionals not approved by our company shall not adjust and repair the product.
• The right of interpretation for the above clauses belongs to our company under the law.
• The product shall use the municipal tap water. Do not use unknown water source

- The product shall not be installed on the water supply line with the water pressure over 0.4 MPa. if the inflow water pressure is over 0.4 MPa, the reducing valve must be installed (it needs to be purchased separately).

- The inflow water temperature of the product shall be 5–38 degree Celsius, if the inflow water temperature is over 38 degree Celsius, it will damage the filter and make it lose efficacy. If the inflow water temperature is below 5 degree Celsius, it might cause freezing, and water leaking due to product components breakage.

- For the product not used for a long term, the water source must be disconnected so as not to damage the product.

- Please do not place the product in the place under high temperature and humidity

- The product shall not be installed in the places with direct sunlight or exposed in the places containing harmful chemicals, or any place that might suffer damage such as falling, impact etc.

- The product shall be cleaned with clean water, please do not clean the product by direct watering, and do not use steel wool, abrasive cleanser or corrosive liquid (such as gasoline or acetone) to clean the product.

- Please do not pour other liquid into the filter during cleaning, so as not to cause damage to the filter filtering system.

7. Trouble shooting

8 Guarantee & Service

This product includes a two-year warranty from the date of purchase. If you need more information, please visit: www.philips.com/welcome.

Within two years from the date of purchase, you will receive free warranty service for any damage caused by the manufacturing process or components under normal operation confirmed by our maintenance service.

The warranty service does not include frequent replaced consumable components (water purified filter, pitcher filter, granular activated carbon, ion exchange resin, hollow fiber membrane, etc.), auxiliary devices, transportation fee and door-to-door service. Please show the proof of purchase to the service personnel during maintenance.

You cannot receive free warranty service under the following conditions:

1. Damage by improper operation, such as improper components connection, improper installation, deprived of manual use, mis-operation.

2. Negligence and damage because of transportation or other accident.

3. Maintenance and modification without approval.

4. Other damage caused by force majeure (such as natural disaster, abnormal voltage, etc.).
5. Damage caused by general use outside home (e.g. industrial and commercial use).
6. Aging, wearing and tearing caused by normal operation of the product without affecting normal operation of the product.
