Frequently Asked Questions - VW-VBK360 Watson

How do I charge the Watson VW-VBK360 battery?
To charge the Watson VW-VBK360, insert it into your compatible camcorder or digital camera and connect the charger as described in your device's manual. Always use the charger recommended by the camera manufacturer.
What is the ideal storage charge level for long-term storage?
For extended storage, the battery should be at approximately 40% charge. Neither fully charged nor fully discharged. Store in a cool, dry place at around 59°F (15°C).
What is the operating temperature range for this battery?
The battery operates between 15°F (-10°C) and 105°F (40°C). Using it outside this range may activate a safety circuit and prevent use.
Does the battery have any built-in protection?
Yes, the battery has an internal self-resetting fuse and a safety circuit that protects against over-temperature and short circuits.
What should I do if the battery gets warm during use or charging?
It is normal for the battery to become warm during use or charging. If it becomes excessively hot, stop using and let it cool. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How long does the battery last?
Run time depends on power demand. Manufacturer run times are based on non-stop recording; real-life use of zoom, autofocus, etc. shortens run time. When operation time noticeably shortens, consider replacing the battery.
What is the warranty on this battery?
The Watson VW-VBK360 comes with a one-year limited warranty from the original purchase date, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Can I store the battery in the refrigerator?
Yes, you can store the battery in a refrigerator, but not in a freezer. The recommended storage temperature is 59°F (15°C).
How do I clean the battery?
Clean the battery and terminals with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or solvents.
Is the Watson VW-VBK360 compatible with my Panasonic camcorder?
The VW-VBK360 is designed for use with select camcorders and digital cameras that require this model battery, including many Panasonic models. Check your device's manual to confirm compatibility.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

- Charge the battery pack before use. Read your camcorder or digital camera manual for charging instructions.

- When not in use, remove the battery pack from its device and store in a cool, dry place.

- Do not short circuit the terminals. This battery is protected with an internal self-resetting fuse, but short circuits may still cause severe damage to the battery. Be careful where you set the battery down.

• Under no circumstance attempt to open the battery case.
- Do not expose the battery to rain or moisture.

- Keep away from fire. Do not incinerate. Battery may explode in the presence of fire.

- Do not drop battery or expose it to strong shocks.

- Do not use at temperatures below 15°F (-10°C) or above 105°F (40°C). Use of the battery at very high temperatures will activate a safety circuit, disallowing use.

- Running time depends on the power demanded. Stated manufacturer run times are developed in simple laboratory tests of non-stop recording. Real-life use of zoom, automatic focus, tape review, etc., all demand extra power and shorten run time.

TO MAXIMIZE BATTERY PERFORMANCE

• Make sure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Clean the battery and terminals with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
• The battery may be warm during use on recharging. This is normal.
- When storing the battery for an extended period, be sure that it is not completely charged, nor completely discharged.

The ideal level is a 40% charge. This is approximate; the closer the battery is to this level, the better it will hold its charge during storage. The battery should be stored in a cool, dry place. The recommended temperature for storage is 59°F (15°C). You may store a battery in a refrigerator. Do not store batteries in a freezer.

- Remove the battery from your equipment when not in use. Some electronic equipment will draw current even when the switch is off.

- When operation time has noticeably shortened, the battery may need to be replaced.
